With the guidance and patience of the sales representative, Bev Piette,
we were able to install a very cost effective, and if I say so myself, a very tasteful and sexy Shoji door set between our master bedroom and the master bath. The instructions were simple, and pretty intuitive. Bev walked us through a selection process that will minimize issues on the screen with moisture. The three panel system is from stock -- and the only had to cut the length for us. This saved us a lot of money over custom cut door to fit the exact opening, and when they are all closed, we simply space them evenly and they look amazing... I strongly recommend this company and its products. As a Realtor serving luxury home buyers and sellers, I have recommended this solution to clients already as something distinguished and quality! A+ overall experience!

I have 2 custom passage doors from Cherry Tree Designs which are are nothing less than absolutely outstanding! The craftsmanship, the beauty, the customer service, the communication, the shipping exceeded my highest expectations. I will definitely be doing more business with this company. The whole experience was superior in EVERY respect. These doors were made for a custom bathroom remodel. The general contractor who hung the doors said they are the most beautiful doors he has ever seen and the quality is exceptional. He loved hanging the doors.

We are thrilled with the sliding shoji doors we ordered for our bedroom closets. They make the room! The ordering process went very smoothly and Bev was really helpful along the way.

I was very skeptical about their quality because I have such a high standard. Bev and Tor were not only knowledgeable but extremely customer oriented to ensure the measurements were precisely correct and the entire package was nicely packed and shipped out to me on time in a good condition. Bev was so kind and patient with my question, I ordered the Shoji for my dining room and my entry area. They are very delicate and quality as expected. Keep up the good work! My customer service contact was knowlegable and thorough. I had a concern about ordering custom doors over the internet from a stranger a 1,000 mile away. When doors arrived, they were exactly as i had expected and ordered. Execllent quality and finish. Would do it again

Hi. I sent a pretty detailed opinion around August 1 to Bev, with a picture. Now I would add that even though I already sent the opinion that you are now seeking, it is not clear that you read or even received it. Why not a quick acknowledgement? That is what I mean by, "not impressed by your attention to detail."

The door is great, the delivery was good, it was not good that someone misplaced the first contract that I signed, but that didn't cost too much of a delay.

I just wanted to let you know that the door arrived after we were back from Europe (almost a week after). Gabi and I installed it ourselves and the photos are attached. My plus deltas for you:

Good detailed instructions for the installment. Good/decent instructions (my phd biologist wife thought they were not good). Good instructions were truly necessary, and they were good enough for me (PhD engineer).

It came a day or two later than promised for the shipping. Not a big deal but the shipping company had local issues and it sat a day in Terre Haute.

I didn’t realize we needed a mitre box and pin nailer for assembly and that probably would have been better to know up front. We did it without the pin nailer.


Overall we are satisfied with what we purchased. It is well made and functions flawlessly.

My wife, born and raised in Korea, wanted sliding doors to separate our 4 season Sun-room from the Living room. Her requirements were that the doors be just like the type she grew up with with the exception to have glass instead of rice paper in the doors. The search was on! We found Cherry Tree Designs and reviewed the website and made a few phone call coordinated with our builder and made the leap of faith and purchased them.

We were more than satisfied in the packaging and the finished product, the contractor was impressed and most importantly my wife Myong was elated with the final product. I strongly recommend Cherry Tree Designs and their product for you next project!

Our doors were ordered to complete a handicap bathroom access project. These new doors allowed us to cover a opening of 96" with a product that was not only functional, but decor wise beautiful. I would think the number one item that sold us on these doors was the materials. We were so pleased that the wood used in the doors was the same wood we had used in all of our homes cabinets. It matches perfect and all who see it ask did we made the cabinets to match the doors or the other way around.

The shoji screens are very attractive and we are enjoying them.
But there is a design flaw in the product I installed. My screens have grillwork only on one side (using them as window treatment for sliding glass doors) and the velom material is held in on the backside with unsecured shims. During shipment all of the shims fell out and I had to request more from Bev Piette and reinstall the screen material. A better design would have been to secure the screen material with full length molding (glued and tacked in place) and mitered in the corners. The grill work should also have been glued in place to the velom screen material.

Please be advised that Bev Peitte was most helpful and professional, without her assistance I would not have ordered the product.

From the first call I made gathering information to every consecutive call the rep so over the top helpful. She knew the products and could answer every question I had. Was so simple to order and when I received the final product it was packaged safely with no damage. Turn around time was very quick for an item like this. I love my doors.

I am very pleased with the Soshi doors. Just so everyone knows... the doors looked very light (not the cherrywood darker color that I was expecting) but they are darkening as time passes and blending in nicely with my existing woodwork.

In spite of careful measurements sent, the doors that arrived are almost 1" different in height - the 4-panel set being shorter by that much. It wasn't enough of a problem for us to return the doors, but we do feel that inserting one more step in the process - verifying the _actual dimensions to be manufactured_ - would have been worthwhile, instead of just sending the dimensions of the door frames. A slight difference in the door opening height was somehow magnified to produce a less than perfect result.

I custom ordered cherry shoji sliding doors to divide an area in my home and could not have been more pleased. The doors are absolutely stunning and fulfill every expectation I had. More than that, the company's representative, Bev, was a pleasure to work with, very knowledgeable and gave me the best advice. Her input helped me create a living space that was what I hoped it would be and more. All aspects of the design were approved by me before the order was placed. Any measurement concern was addressed. Plus, the total cost was even better than other door companies I had contacted. I will use Cherry Tree Design again without hesitation.

I was very concerned about quality and design since I am a native of Japan. Having shoji doors in my living room was my long time dream.
It was very nice to build it step by step to fit to our living room using the imaginary lay out with Bev Piette, Shoji Design Consultant. She knew exactly what I was hoping to build. She was really a great designer of Shoji.
Well, when they were delivered to us, it was very exciting to see how wonderful they were. When our carpenter finished building them, they were better than the shoji in Japan. In the future, I am thinking to have another set of shoji to replace one door.

We put shoji screens on two very large windows in our entry hall. They let lots of light into the space. They are well-made, beautiful, and we love them.

this is a great product for asian inspired design. the staff was knowledgable and the construction and materials are top notch - it requires carpentry skills to install but done right produces a beautiful result

Everything about the doors is wonderful. We learned how to fix the waviness of the paper and that worked fine after delivery -- no problem. The quality is really great. We have gotten many compliments on them. The only problem we had in the whole process is that Bev sent us completely inaccurate quotes so poorly prepared that it did not even have the correct product named on the face of it, let alone the correct price and components. Thankfully, Tor stepped in and we were able to complete the transaction. Bev did not even know how to correctly use the software that prepares the quotes. That portion of the business needs to be changed.
