I joined this practice in Feb 2026 as…a new NHS patient after searching for 5 years.
I joined this practice in Feb 2026 as they had NHS spaces available.
The Westcoates branch is in a residential street with limited or no parking available and a very jobsworth traffic warden who delights in ticketing cars. I had to go to their Coalville branch for E rays and for full dental extractions by a “specialist”!!!My experience there was dire, consent form signed in reception, local anaesthetic which was totally inadequate for even 1 extraction! Dentist pre occupied with computer and his looks, wasn’t wearing the JDRM scrubs, I had to stop the extractions after 1.5 teeth as the pain unbearable. Dentist I’ve since found out is a trained dentist with a DRC number which is for dental sedation only and mainly private work. I’ve since been seen for denture making but the dentist has made no further plans as yet for full dental clearance. I’ve had to see a private dentist, more X-rays, but 3 referrals to max fax dept NHS, dentist for extractions NHS, another private dentist to discuss implants for stable dentures.
Reception staff at Westcoats are mostly pleasant and helpful, 2 especially so when I couldn’t find a parking space and the other after I was 3 mins late for an emergency appointment to obtain antibiotics for an infected socket. Late as nowhere to park, another patient being difficult with the 1 receptionist. This receptionist tried her hardest to get me seen but to no avail with 3 separate dentists. Reason, I was late so penalised by having to come back next day. I was very unwell.
I’ve since learned that the new owners, Damira have reduced appointment times from 20 mins to 10, so they can fit more patients in and no doubt make more money.
Would I recommend, yes for basic dentistry, no for extractions or anything more than basic work.
