The agents at LAL are efficient. If I message them, they usually contact me within the hour and help me secure shifts easily.

Took very long time to review the documents, no one seems helping. Whenever you go on the website and ask for help, it said it will take about an hour to get reply but last time I waited for 4 hours there's still no reply at all.

Locate a homeless locum. The company drives locum rates lower and lower and doesn't give the ability to negotiate. We should all boycott these apps so we can gain some control and power back over our rates and not sell ourselves short! What was the point in studying all those years with ever increasing work load and getting paid less than a plumber.

Ok I never leave reviews but I thought it needed to be done . I wanted to thank Josephine she was extremely helpful on a number of occasions she helped me get locum access for my smart card and it was done within ten min, she then helped me make sure that my hour break was paid for after it got cancelled it was sorted . You guys are lucky to have someone like her she is on point and efficient , with regards to the app I couldn’t be more happier I get payed on time with no problem and it’s so easy to use the only thing I would say I get logged off which can be annoying but it isn’t the biggest issue ever . Otherwise if you are a pharmacist that needs a locum app this is the BEST one on the market the others are rubbish . It’s always at real time and straight forward .

The app frequently crashes and logs users out, requiring them to re-enter information each time, which is highly frustrating.
Although the company claims it doesn’t set rates, it equips employers with comprehensive market data, including the rates locums are accepting locally and in wider areas. This not only highlights to employers that they could potentially lower their rates but also provides them with an unfair advantage by not making similar information available to locums. Locums are left in the dark about prevailing rates in different areas, creating a significant disparity in the information accessible to each party. While it's understandable that the company might want to attract employers by providing such data, this practice does not facilitate a balanced playing field between employers and locums.
Employers can post and then cancel shifts to gauge market rates without facing any consequences, while locums are penalised heavily for cancelling. This disparity in treatment is unfair.
Shift postings are visible, but applying to them is restricted—locums must meet specific criteria or wait for procedural updates, yet the shifts remain listed. This lack of access complicates the application process unnecessarily and frustrates users who are ready and able to work but are hindered by these opaque restrictions.
Negotiations are tightly controlled, severely limiting locums' ability to negotiate beyond a few pounds above a predetermined maximum rate. Moreover, there is no option to include essentials like paid lunch or mileage, further restricting their ability to secure fair compensation and working conditions. This restrictive policy significantly undermines locums’ bargaining power and overall job satisfaction.
Despite widespread complaints about certain firms, the agency fails to penalise companies that do not compensate their locums and shows little interest in advocating for locum rights. This lack of action continues to affect the welfare of locums adversely, underscoring a need for greater accountability and support from the agency.
If this agency operated as a truly open marketplace, facilitating free market transactions between employers and locums without interference, it would be acceptable. However, the platform is highly restricted and clunky, imposing numerous limitations on negotiations and transactions. These restrictions hinder the natural dynamics of supply and demand, detracting from what could be a more effective and equitable service.
