Do not call the Staten Island location!

This review should actually be zero stars. Stay far away from this company. The Staten Island location is impossible to deal with except for the initial visit where they get your money to diagnose a problem. They say that your money can be used toward the repair, however, they never actually Call you back or deliver the part. They came to diagnose the problem. I was quoted a price for the repair of a washing machine hose a simple job.they charged me $140 and claimed the part would be there in three days and the money could be applied as a down payment for the job and part ordered. I am still waiting. countless phone calls and unanswered messages Later with no response or call backs resulted in me having to contact another company who came and repaired the machine in one day. I contacted the Better Business Bureau and guess what they didn’t respond to them either so I am out $140. I requested a refund and didn’t even get a response. I asked for a manager and no call from him either. This company should be shut down!

GE Profile Fridge Icemaker & Watere dispense issues

I had an issue with the icemaker & water dispenser on my GE Profile fridge. The technician (Cody Smith) came out and spend 3 hours taking it apart and clearing out the ice build up and putting it back together. Ended up that a new icemaker & a new filter head would be the fix, however with the fridge in the off position, it still continued to run so a new man board would have also been required. In the end a new fridge was my best option. Cody was on time, was very knowledgeable and took the time to answer all my questions. The 3 hours spent only cost the price of a service call.

Absolutely terrible

Absolutely terrible, terrible customer service!

Not only could they not fix my washing machine. They basically told me tough luck.

Renee is EXTREMELY rude. She raised her voice multiple times, was threatening, and then hung up on me.

Never ever hire Mr. Appliance for anything!

Scam Warning: Paid for Service, Got Home Damage Instead

Only use Mr Appliance if you want damage done to your home and to pay for a service you'll never receive. If I could give 0 stars, I would. I have had an absolutely awful experience with Mr Appliance and strongly advise others to avoid them.

My stove burner went out, and I was assigned Mr Appliance through my home warranty company, AHS. The first appointment was scheduled for March 21st - the technician (George) no-showed for over four hours past the appointment window. I eventually had to reschedule for March 24th, when George again showed up late.

During the visit, George used metal pliers to forcibly pry my stovetop, despite my clear warning that the stovetop was soldered into the marble countertop, and asking him not to. As a result, he caused severe damage to my marble - deep divots of crushed marble (holes) and impact marks that were absolutely avoidable. I immediately filed a complaint with AHS (my home warranty who scheduled Mr Appliance) and submitted extensive photo evidence to both AHS and Mr Appliance's manager, Melissa.

Since then, my experience has gone from bad to worse:

- I have submitted almost a dozen emails to Mr Appliance (Melissa) with no response.
- I have called over 40 times, often being placed on hold for 15+ minutes or having my calls completely ignored.
- I have left numerous voicemails and never received a call back.
- I managed to speak to Melissa once, and she promised a call back the next day to discuss compensation for the damage. That call never happened, and follow-up attempts have been met with complete silence.

I have filed a BBB complaint regarding their refusal to address the damage and the ongoing lack of communication.

Meanwhile, my stove burner remains broken, and Mr Appliance continues to refuse to schedule service or address the damage they caused.

Despite being told by AHS that Mr Appliance would contact me, they have not. Every day, I spend valuable time trying to get a response, with absolutely no resolution. Their complete lack of professionalism, accountability, and customer service is staggering. I have detailed records of all communication attempts and photo proof of the damage, and I am now prepared to pursue legal action if this is not resolved.

Bottom line:

- Mr Appliance caused major damage to my home.
- Mr Appliance refuses to respond, repair the damage, or complete the original service (despite being paid for it).
- Mr Appliance ignores emails, calls, and even BBB complaints.

Avoid this company at all costs

Look No Further Than Mr. Appliance

I had a dryer issue and went to Mr. Appliance in Sherwood Park to inquire about parts after attempting a self-help type fix. After speaking to a super knowledgeable and friendly Olivia I then spoke to one of their technicians, Shawn. The self-help solution was a little daunting, so I decided to book a service call. Shawn had a break in his schedule and offered to come to our house that afternoon. Honestly, customer service above and beyond! Shawn did not oversell me and offered other solutions, at more inexpensive prices, if I wanted to go that route. He was super polite, efficient and extremely knowledgeable. I was very impressed. Not only did he provide exceptional service, explanations and advice, he was prompt, efficient and certainly knows his craft. I will definitely use Mr. Appliance again for ANY and ALL of our future needs. Please pass on my thanks to Shawn!

No follow up

In summary, our complaints are (1) the technician was not the expert we anticipated, neither technically nor professionally; (2) we were not told about a restocking fee (and it remains unclear which part was restocked); (3) we were provided an invoice showing a overpayment with no follow up or corrected invoice; and, (4) we made several reasonable attempts to understand the situation and no one ever called us back. And the washer was never repaired.

We wrote the headquarters and were told that the issue would be investigated, but similar to the local company, we still have not received a reply (after more than three months).

Called and scheduled for them to come…

Called and scheduled for them to come check out my refrigerator. They could not give me a specific time, just sayed they would call. I told them up front I needed 30 minutes to get to my house from work because I could not sit at home and wait on a call.
The person I spoke with assured me that would be fine and they would make a note of it. The day comes and I get a call from the service guy that says he will be at my house in about 15 minutes. I told them I would be there as quick as possible but it would be at least 30 minutes. I also told him I had informed the person I spoke with when making the appointment that would be the case. He seemed fine with it and sayed ok. I jump in my truck and get several miles down the road and get a call from someone else at their office telling me that the service guy cannot wait. Said I would have to reschedule but still could not give me a time when they could be there, again they would just call when they were close. So they expect you to sit at home all day and wait on a call that is at there convenience. Great customer service! After seeing the other reviews, it was probably for the best.

Called Mr Appliance and spoke with 3…

Called Mr Appliance and spoke with 3 different folks within one day and all 3 had different rates based on where you live. Tampa office said $149 to come out and determine issue. The next company said $139 which was listed in Clearwater and an hour later I called to verify some information and was told rate was $125.

The next day a rude woman called back to let me know when someone was going to come I at that point asked what was the rate and her location she said $149 and Tampa.

She told me they were all owned independently and depends where you lived and if you had a stackable and if you had gas or electric.

She hung up on me because I was asking questions she had a hard time lying about and I said why the price differences??

I would find someone other then this company since they are clearly NOT transparent on their pricing structure.

Happy refrigerator and refrigerator owner🙂

Mr. Daniel Woods Sr was a total no nonsense, very knowledgeable, on time person.
I very much appreciate his time and his talent. And the people that gave him one star probably have really all worn out. Need to buy new Appliance . He’s just one human being.
Only Jesus Christ can do miracles.
If you have nothing nice to say, please don’t say anything at all …… I hope your mom thought you better.

Their F Rating on the BBB says it all!

I would never use this company again, and I don’t even want them to set foot on my property. Please look elsewhere and save yourself the frustration and time. I read online reviews but failed to check the BBB rating for this company. The rating is an F, and they earned it. If you want to see what your experience with this company will be like, please read the reviews from the BBB. My experience fits right in with all the others.

This company is dishonest, the miscommunication is ridiculous, and there is zero follow-up. My dryer needed to be repaired. The technician came and diagnosed the problem but had to order two parts. I was required to pay for the complete repair before they would schedule the actual repair. That should have been a huge red flag. I had already been without my dryer for a week and thought that this company would do what it promised. I paid for the full repair and was told that the part would arrive the following week and the technician would complete the repair. There was no written confirmation, just a verbal statement from the technician.

The evening before the repair day I finally received a message with the window of time the technician would be arriving. The morning of the repair day I received a call asking me to call them when the parts arrived so they didn’t send their technician if I didn’t have the parts. That’s when I knew something was wrong. I went ahead and located the parts at a nearby distributor and went to purchase them even though I had already paid Mr Appliance for the same parts.

While I was on my way back from the distributor with the needed parts the technician showed up one and a half hours early. He said the parts had been shipped to the wrong city and left. If he had arrived during the promised window of time, the parts would have been at my house. I called Mr. Appliance, and after trying to get through for 40 minutes, they told me the parts were sent to my city, so the technician was wrong. They had no answer for why the technician did not show up as scheduled or why he left. They have my money and I still don’t have a working dryer.

Rating is a zero

It’s only a one because I don’t have the option for a zero. Waited a week for my dryer repair. Just got a call last minute stating “I have to reschedule your repair “. I’m livid. Monday is the only morning I can be home due to work. They evidently drop scheduled appointments for refrigerators. As if it couldn’t wait 2 hours. I get to go another week without a dryer. Clearly not enough staffing. All she kept saying in response was “I know.” No, you clearly don’t.

Dacor Oven

I was quoted a fee of $135.00, to be applied toward the repair.
I was charged $193.03, for 3 screws for my oven door. The part that was "a guess', as to what the problem would be, is discontinued.
It was a guessing game.
I could have watched a UTube video and learned more about my oven.

3 trips out to the house and the problem lives on.

3 trips out to the house and the dishwasher is still broke. Came out once for 10 minutes, guessed at a part and said he'd have to order it. Came out the second time swapped it out and didn't wait around to see if it fixed the issue (shut off mid-cycle). Told me if that didn't fix it, it was a computer board. Called them up to request them to come out and switch the board. The SAME GUY comes out a third time and asks what seems to be the problem. I reminded him of the history (this all took place in about a month's time) and said we should be switching out the computer board. He said well, I'll have to order it and come back. Ridiculous!

Horrible, horrible company. Unprofessional and inexperienced. They will only respond to an issue if you leave them a bad review. Don’t just take it from me as a warning, here is what Google says about them:

Beware of Predatory Practices – Avoid Mr. Appliance of Salem

If I could give zero stars, I would. My experience with Mr. Appliance has been nothing short of infuriating—full of misdiagnoses, inflated repair costs, and a refusal to take responsibility for their work.

Our washing machine, less than two years old but just out of warranty, started leaking water. As someone with no technical expertise, I described the issue as best I could. Mr. Appliance charged a $150 “diagnostic fee” for what turned out to be less than 15 minutes of work, determining that the only issue was a faulty intake valve. The repair would cost nearly $500—a steep price, but still cheaper than replacing the machine.

They replaced the part, said everything was working fine, and left. But the moment we turned on the washer, it started making an ear-splitting grinding noise—something that had never happened before. When we called them back, they sent someone to inspect the issue, only to claim that it was completely unrelated to their work, completely unrelated to my initial complaint, and therefore, a completely separate repair requiring more money out of pocket. Their excuse? Because I hadn’t complained about a grinding drum initially (because it wasn’t happening then), they didn’t bother to check past the intake valve during their so-called “diagnostic” visit.

After pushing back, their best offer was to rip out the part they had installed and issue a partial refund—keeping the $150 I paid for their flawed diagnosis. In other words, they take zero accountability for their work, leave me with a still-broken washer, and expect me to pay for the privilege of their incompetence.

Their diagnostic charge is nothing more than a predatory business practice designed to lock customers into inflated repair costs while absolving themselves of any responsibility. I deeply regret trusting them with my appliance repair, and I strongly advise others to stay far away unless you enjoy being overcharged and left with more problems than you started with.

Didn't back their warranty

After several “minor” repairs for my Samsung refrigerator leak, Mr. Appliance of Asheville replaced the entire back panel for the second time within 6 months. The fridge still leaked. Mr. Appliance/Bob Tuck, (regional manager I think) blamed Samsung. Samsung denied any responsibility since the fridge itself was out of warranty. Mr. Tuck refused to do anything further and wouldn’t refund my money for the panel, even though the panel was under warranty from his company. After several emails back and forth, Mr. Tuck cut off all communication with me. I was out about $1700 in repairs. I especially didn’t appreciate Mr. Tuck cutting me off entirely and not making any effort to reimburse me for the warrantied back panel. I certainly won’t use or recommend Mr. Appliance ever again!!

Excellent repair of our downdraft exhaust fan

We contacted Mr. Appliance in Carlisle to look at our down draft exhaust fan behind our Viking cook top which would rise and fall, but the fan didn't run on. Alex came to our house within 3 days after calling in order to diagnose the problem; found the part and returned to make the repair within a week. Alex is very professional, knowledgeable and courteous. We were very pleased with all the facets related to the repair process and were kept informed of parts availability and pricing, as well as Alex's arrival times. I would recommend them highly.
