Office Ally is simple to use.
They made changes to their services, but retained the original platform which worked for me. I am a small user and didn't need all the addon changes so keeping the old platform available was perfect for me.

I love using Office Ally. I have not had to contact customer service much at all but when I have, Customer service has been superb! Very quick to respond to any question and or inquiry that I have had. The program is available 24/7 unless updates are being done and I have always received notification as to when the updates will occur. I would highly recommend Office Ally. It is great and a less expensive way to manage your office with the trust and reliability that you need.

The most influential part of my review has to be the ease at which we were able to transition over to OfficeAlly from another clearinghouse. We opted for the premium assistance where we were assigned a specific person to help us through each step of the process. Andrew was incredible. The transition went so smoothly, and I learned so much. Since the transition we have been using OfficeAlly and everything has been efficient and user friendly.

Office Ally is a versatile medical record. One can notate as much or as little as necessary, back it up, develop it, manage who sees it, etc. It is flexible, not flashy. One can document as much or as little as necessary, develop the record with great detail or by main points only. In short, Office Ally makes it easy to develop the medical record that is meaningful for both practitioner and client.

Antiquated and Incompetent. When I decided to restructure my practice by going back to OA, I thought I would save time and money by using a system that was more simplified - Biggest regret I've had since launching my business!
The system is completely antiquated. I cannot even do simple reporting, such as knowing what has been paid by the insurance companies. This is a simple feature that any EHR system in 2025 has.
Furthermore, when I call for assistance, I have to spend literally hours on the phone trying to convince them of what the problem is. It's as if they feel their system is so superior that there are no problems.
Additionally, my marketing firm needed them to open their API so we can do direct booking for the therapists. Again, this is a simple and standard feature that all EHR system have in 2025, except for them. They operate as if it's still 2005.
Do not use this software. Once you set your practice up onto an EHR system, it is very difficult to untangle yourself from it. Perhaps this is what they are counting on. Save yourself the money, time and frustration.

Support is great, the simplicity and ease of the system and implementation is superior to other most other PM and/or EMR systems, and claims process with a faster DAR with Office Ally than any other system our clients are on. It is not a "fancy" bells and whistles system, but does effectively get the job done so it is great for small practices or practices just needing a way to submit and process claims without an EMR, though their EMR module is a good solid easy to use product too.

I have been paying Office Ally to do nothing for going on nine months. They have yet to be able to successfully submit a claim to Medicare Part B that is accepted. I only need them for Medicare and after months of getting contradictory information from different support staff it is time to just do my own billing.

Affordable. Outdated. Not user friendly.
(-) Office Ally (OA) has been the bane of my existence. I cannot convey the magnitude of frustration this EHR is currently causing me. I am but one PMHNP, who is also married to a software engineer, but I have heard 10+ unsolicited bad reviews of this EHR. I have prior experience with ~5 different EHRs throughout my RN and PMHNP career. OA is my least favorite.
My personal experience is isolated to the basic plan, please continue reading with this in mind. One example source of frustration with OA is there are tiny little text boxes for every section of your note and there is a tight word count max for each section that forces acronyms and omissions for HPI. I have permanent notification alert numbers at the top of my screen. I submitted a support ticket a month ago, with no resolution. There is no mobile app and it is not compatible with the AI scribe that I use: Heidi AI scribe - free version. Documentation takes at least three times as long as it should, and I have come to dread the tedious task of chart notes now. It took me less than a month to broach the subject of a different EHR with the owner of the private practice. I had permission to look into alternatives.
(+) The one star is for affordability. One thing I will say, is that OA is, by far, the cheapest option I have looked at, with decent billing through Practice Mate and e-prescribing services through Sure Script at no additional fee, other than $100 annual fee for ID.me authenticator service. I have looked at 15+ EHR options in my search for a better work-life balance. None come close to $45/mo. with billing and eRx included.

Office Ally has quite a few perks with billing and revenue management. I have been using this EHR for over 15 years and absolutely love the simplicity of billing and creating my own SOAP guidelines and templates. This is truly a custom system. As with any EHR there are challanges but for the most part pretty reliable system.
