I decided to get a video course from UYE mainly because I found the method of they build for ear training so meaningful. It just made super sense to me ear training not being about thinking about the music but just feeling it. After I started to the course, I am understanding how this is being possible day by day more and surprising how something seems so hard at the beginning becomes just possible. Also very importantly, I am so grateful with all the help that I am getting in my ear training journey. I feel like whenever I am confused, I have a place to ask and professionals to show me the way by providing the individual help with all the care.

This course is the best ear training you'll find on the internet, yes, on the entire internet.

Many people online talk about the demonstrations shown in various videos, but they don’t realize that these are just demonstrations or quick mentions of what you should do—they’re not actually practical courses. Plus, they often use people with perfect pitch as examples, which isn’t realistic for most learners.

I took this course, and the results are immediate and applicable from the first lesson.

This course really helps you become a better musician when you want to compose or perform music. You can immediately and intuitively know the chords/notes you want to play or that you're hearing.

You don't need to count intervals. The course is not only designed to tell you what to study and how to study it, but it also has practical exercises that guide you to achieve results.

This really is the best and most effective listening training course that approaches the matter from the right angle. For a long time I also tried to write down the music I heard using the interval method. This was very frustrating until the book "Neue Jazzharmonielehre" (New Jazz Harmony) by Frank Sikora opened my ears a few years ago. There is a chapter in it that aptly describes the problem: "Listening: The horror has a name". He explains the problem and gives very valuable tips and exercises on how to achieve really good results. And he takes exactly the same approach as You do. Now, with your course, I have found a very detailed and consecutive practice schedule with lots of practical listening exercises. And Yes: Forget about intervals and develop the feeling each note produces in its musical context.

What helped me the most and was a paradigm shift for my inner ear was the idea of relating everything to the tonality once found ("centre of gravity" is a very apt term) and no longer determining the intervals in their sequence. To do this, it is essential to retain the tonality. A positively terrifying exercise was the following: Before you leave the house in the morning strike a note on the piano, take it with you throughout the day and when you get home in the evening sing the note out loud without thinking about it. It's hard to believe, but it works. I tried it several times and it almost always worked, even if I didn't think about it during the day. But I was able to recall the moment when I struck the note on the piano and the feeling associated with it: the situation when I lift the piano lid, strike the key and the sound spreads out in the morning calm. I could remember this feeling and was able to sing the right note again as if by magic. Unbelievable but true.

The only thing you can't take away from your students is that they really continue working on the exercises.

I love the first expirience, on the workshop...

Before discovering Use Your Ear (UYE), I was searching for the best way to train my ear, and I explored both intervalic and tonal approaches. Initially, intervals seemed more practical, but it quickly became overwhelming to memorize the space between consecutive notes. That’s when I found UYE and realized the tonal approach was the right path for me.

The vocalization exercises in the course have been incredibly helpful, and I’ve started recognizing scale fragments in songs. Though I’m still progressing, especially with minor tonality, focusing on the tonic has helped me figure out melodies more easily. I’m currently working on Unit 2 and eager to hear chord progressions.

UYE has given me the structured guidance I needed, and it’s helped me understand music in a way that will improve not only my ear training but also my ability to compose and recognize patterns on the guitar. The course has allowed me to focus on the essential concepts without overcomplicating the process, and I feel confident in my progress.

This is an eye opener for me on the proper approach on ear training!

The majority agreed on the relevance of studying chords in a musical context, rather than subjecting students to endless and dull sessions of chord and inversion recognition in an abstract context.
Furthermore, the importance of singing as a strategy for auditory development was unanimously recognized among the teachers, as well as prioritizing perception over theory in the initial stages.From a theoretical perspective, as expounded throughout the various sessions to contextualize harmonic phenomena, it pleased the council to emphasize the coherence of the author's thinking. It's been 3 years since I bought the course. It has everything that you would need in a ear training course. There are concepts which I had heard for the first time. I have been playing guitar for more than 15 years now. His approach is very clear, you can ask him if you get confused in the comment section and you should get a reply within 2 days. I just hope you had created an app that you provide more examples of each exercises and also track your progress. But was it worth the money? Yes, I'm very confident that I wouldn't find a course on ear training better than this. For sure. You will never have to wander around to find another course after this.

It's very helpful for a beginner, it teaches you how to identify the tonic note. It also helps you differentiate between a stable and unstable note and it helps you to understand more about ear training.

I have come across numerous ear training courses online, and have also studied with teachers who have guided me in aural training. Leonardo's Use Your Ear method is the first course I have seen that is comprehensive and includes a system of building block elements that can be applied to comprehend and create music by ear.

At first when I saw the course website, it struck me as being expensive. After purchasing it, when I explored the contents, I was surprised to see the sheer amount of content and exercises. Later units include topics such as ear training for modes, 7th chords and non-diatonic elements in music.

Really really good if you want to learn playing by ear! I made so a quick progress i did not thaught that this is possible.

I've always wondered how great musical personalities such as David Bowie, Sting ecc can construct and do timeless songs and have access to all the Harmony lines they want, and this method has been a game changer. To be able to transcribe a Harmony line by your head and find the true chord progressions is such a superpower.

I am really grateful to have discovered the Use Your Ear program, it has been amazing for me. I am a singer, studying jazz, so ear training is important, but I have always found it extremely difficult to make progress.

The Use Your Ear approach is completely unique, and feels very organic and intuitive. After a few short weeks of following the lesson plans, to my surprise, my brain was suddenly able to recognize what I was hearing. (And this was only after Unit 1!)

I discovered the tonal approach a few years ago with other methods, and I was able to figure things out on my own as well. But I gave up, I think because I didn't have a step-by-step plan to lead me towards having a great ear.

With Use Your Ear I have this plan! All the lessons are very well explained with good exercises to practice. We are guided all the way long.

I started the program 3 weeks ago, and I already see improvements in my recognition skills. The other day, I was able to write a song I listened to, just with a pen and a piece of paper (without the piano). I could find the chords being played and the melody.

I also see myself improving fast on every single exercise, which means that they are well done. Nothing is too hard for now, and I am sure if it will get hard, I will know how to overcome the difficulties.
