Hello, the experience of using the motorhome was good overall. The explanation when receiving the vehicle needed improvement. We did not receive an explanation about the dismantling and assembly of the tables, or where the tools for changing a wheel were located. The vehicle was not particularly clean. The sink in the shower was filthy. We had two problems, one with the refrigerator and one with the electrical outlet when connecting electricity to the motorhome. In both cases, we contacted the troubleshooting center and did not receive a satisfactory answer and had to return to the branch in Cranes, which caused us to change our itinerary.

Disorganised chaos! When telling customers to be there at 9am to pick up and our van wasn't ready until 10.30am, what a disgrace and a disappointment.
When we finally got our van, and then to do final checks - only then to be told by the staff member that the front tyres then needed to be changed, wasting another 20 minutes.
You would think the checks and everything would be carried out prior to the pick up time so you get there and go without waiting around. Completely frustrating when wanting to get your holiday underway, very disappointed in this. It would have been a totally different story if we had brought the van back late 1.5 hours...

Friendly staff. Handy location reasonable cost to uber to depot. Van was in good condition and pick was short

I thought we would have more explained to us on our first visit to the rental shop.

The staff were helpful and amazing and the motorhome was amazing no issues at all will use this company again for our next holiday .

This is the first time I rented with Maui RV and I chose them after doing research it was better to go with an RV that is 2yrs or newer and they were one of the largest companies in Australia.

The good: The RV started in good shape but quickly started falling apart, more on that below. The local staff at Caines, AU were very helpful although the setup was a little lacking.

The bad: The agent who initially walked me through how to use the RV forgot to mention a critical step. When parking the RV for the night; you must turn off the engine, exit the RV through the drivers door and lock it to turn off the engine side battery. If not, it stays on and we stayed at a remote camping spot and wondered why our dash lights always stayed on which resulted in a dead battery in the morning. We were VERY fortunate that the only other campers at our campsite had jumper cables and being a car guy myself I figured out how to jump it. If not, it would have been hours waiting for roadside assistance.

The other big negative is things continued to break. We repeatedly had locked drawers pop open when driving to the point the bottom drawer with all the plated eventually broke. Upon return, the agent said this is a common problem. We only used the shower once since the drain was clogged until I found the drain and pulled a nasty plug of someone's hair which got it to drain, we had a light switch randomly break and a door seal literally fall off when driving down the highway and the cab heater wouldn't get hot for some reason. Luckily it was hot outside and the AC worked so we only needed the heater to help defrost the windshield after rafting but still I would expect it to work.

Fortunately, the staff apologized and didn't charge me for any of it but when I paid a premium I would have liked a RV that fully functioned and some kind of discount for the many issues would have been nice.

Overall, it was more annoying than hindering our plans other than jump starting the car required us to go back to the rental location to have the RV checked and happened to be on our way to the next spot.

In Cairns on 9/3/26, we arrived at 08:45 on Monday of pick up, only to be told that motor home not ready, as it only got dropped off late Saturday, that staff were not in on a Sunday and the motorhome still needed several checks. The staff were as helpful and as friendly as possible (especially Jacob) but the outcome was we ended up leaving at 12 noon which totally screwed up our first day. The staff did refund our first day cost (but not the heavy insurance piece), but it was no compensation for the delay we incurred. The motorhome then also had several issues with it during our trip, including not being able to open the side door from the outside, faulty smoke alarms, window frame coming away from wall, air con that didn't function properly, leaky toilet tray, I could go on. This was all for a motorhome that was supposedly only 3 months on the road and that we paid (including insurance) a total of £4000 for our trip (£235 per day). Hence the service, quality and experience of our motorhome fell way below expectations. We were also told by staff at drop off in the Sydney location that the Cairns location was well known for such poor customer experiences, so please beware as these motorhomes are not cheap holidays I would have hoped for a lot more for my money!
