Awful experience with Sytner BMW…
Awful experience with Sytner BMW Warwick and their service department.
I initially contacted Warwick BMW for a quote to have some work carried out on my X5. We discussed the works in detail, and I accepted the quotation of approximately £1,600 and booked the car in.
Three days prior to my appointment. I received the check-in email and noticed that some of the agreed works was missing from the job list.
I raised this with the dealership via the check-in system as you can’t directly speak with anyone at the dealership via phone due to their automated system.
Then, at around 6pm the evening before my appointment, I received a phone call from Ronan in the service department who gave me a break down of the agreed works and costings. It quickly became apparent that the total had increased by over £500 compared with the original quotation.
One of the agreed jobs was a gearbox service. Before booking, I specifically asked what this included and was told it would involve replacing the gearbox sump (incorporating the filter) and renewing the gearbox oil.
However, Ronan then told me that the original quote only covered the replacement of the gearbox oil and not the sump/filter, which is why an additional £500 had been added onto the quote.
I then asked to speak with the service manager as I was very unhappy with this, but was bluntly told that nothing could be done today as the service manager had just finished their shift.
I struggle to understand how any competent BMW technician or service advisor would consider any engine or gearbox oil replacement without renewing the associated filters which is standard procedure for any vehicle.
The timing of this was particularly frustrating, with the significant price increase only being raised the evening before my appointment.
In the end, I cancelled the booking as it wasn’t worth the hassle. It was a very disappointing experience, with poor communication.
STAY AWAY from this circus of a franchise.
