What is the Access Card? The physical card acts as a photo ID that can be used to easily communicate your access requirements to events and venues, so that the venues can provide accessibility to the needs of their visitors. It also works online with other platforms like ticketing systems, to unlock the access facilities you need. The card shows a photo ID and translates a persons disability or impairment into symbols, effectively highlighting the barriers they face and the reasonable adjustments they might need. The Access Card app provides you with a personalised directory of venues, with first-class accessibility information to help you plan your trips.

Was easy to fill the application form and I had help from one of the customer helped me with some questions. My son will be happy with this card now thanks very much.
I applied for this card for my severely…
I applied for this card for my severely autistic non verbal 5 year old and was granted only the queuing symbol . After 6 weeks of back and forth emails me sending evidence to say she ideally needs a 2-1 ratio she elopes and cannot communicate I kept getting the same response which was there’s not enough evidence. She receives DLA high rate care and mobility is entitled to a blue badge but does not qualify for an essential companion symbol ? This was highly frustrating despite ALL of the evidence submitted clearly stating all of her needs and the fact she needs constant supervision I cancelled my application and received my £15 refund . The service is a disgrace and if anything discriminates against those with disabilities categorising them how they see fit . If you fail to reach the criteria you are being outcasted and cannot access that event which is against the equality act and is definitely discriminatory behaviour. Absolute waste of time
Very helpful easy access
Very helpful easy access, quick & very reliable thank you very much

Upgrading to the Access card was simple and it arrived by post promptly. The original application required detailed info which i happily assumed is required in today's world.
The staff are always courteous and very helpful. I wish all companies could be the same.
Just renewed my access card
Just renewed my access card, have been accepted, with most needs given, apart from the level access, this I needed as I can only manage 3-4 steps or stairs, with my mobility and stability problems, my last card gave me this option,I called access card to find out why, to be told they have changed the rules for this and are now only giving it to wheelchair users and people who use a rollater. I think this is unfair and harsh to people who have walking and stability issues and use a walking stick. How are they suppose to handle stairs and steps now. I feel this is very wrong and is going to cause stress to those people who can’t manage steps and stairs, like myself included.

Really useful card for non-visible disabilities. A few hoops to jump through, but that is expected really, communication was polite and patient as I have a brain injury . Thank you
Applied in April
Applied in April. No update. No response. Happily took my money & still no card. This company take so much personal information & to have no communication or product is appalling & I’m losing out on gigs! Disgusting service for people with physical disabilities.

Applying is easy and there are relatively few questions, considering other application forms I've filled in. They had an additional question, which was soon answered. It took a total of four days to get confirmation that my card was on the way. Really happy with whole process.
Useless
A totally money making scam to rip off disabled people. They are trying to make disabled people pay for accommodations that are protected by law, not by having one of their cards. Takes weeks to reply to emails and are never helpful. They have no qualifications to say what access requirements you do or do not need. Please don’t fall for this scam

Life-Changing Support During a Difficult Time
Received my card in just a couple of days. Having a disabled access card due to bladder cancer diagnosis has been an immense help during a very challenging period. The application process was surprisingly straightforward.
Living with bladder cancer comes with both physical and emotional hurdles—especially when it comes to urgent toilet access, fatigue, and limited mobility after treatments. This card has made a real difference, giving me peace of mind when I need it most.
Having access to disabled facilities has helped reduce stress during hospital visits and social outings. Ive even used it during a recent flight back from spain. Its never been questioned. In fact, its been respected when ive used it. It’s given me back a sense of independence and dignity, and for that, I’m incredibly grateful.
Thank you to the team—not just for the card, but for the compassion that came with it.
People lovely but hoops to jump through
I sent in lots of information to get my card but felt it was never enough. I explained I suffer from anxiety but this was ignored and I felt a few hoops had to be jumped in order to get my card.
Excellent idea with helpful admin.
Applying for access card for my sister in law.
I had not heard of the scheme until I was about to book tickets and curiosity made me check out the essential companion link.
Clear and easy to complete application.
I can't praise the admin team enough for their help.
My original screenshots of requirements weren't clear enough but they soon sorted the problem and my sister in law can now enjoy going to more places without the cost of having to be accompanied being prohibitive.

I sent all my required paperwork by easily but for some reason this did not reach the required destination.
I was sent an email saying i needed proof i could not walk unaided or needed proof of +1.
This was exactly the proof I had enclosed.
However after the 3rd attempt the service was prompt to get back to me.
Treats you like dirt
Shocking. They denied my daughter's care requirements and kept asking for documentation which I had already sent. They made me feel absolutely worthless as a mother. Apparently it is my fault that I can't have eyes on her every second of every minute of every day. They down played my daughter's needs and our life experiences. I was left in tears. Having a child with disability means you're constantly advocating for them. It's a never ending fight. Having them literally saying "she doesn't have more needs than a regular child" was like being stabbed in the heart. The only person missing out will be my daughter. She will have to be left behind now instead of coming with me and her brother as it would be unaffordable for me to take her anywhere as she requires constant adult supervision and therefore needs one adult with her and unfortunately I also have her brother to care for and he can't constantly miss out on life. They only cared that they got their money.
Waste of time
EDITED TO ADD - If delivery has been attempted, why was I not notified or given any form of tracking. Could someone actually contact me about this seeing as I still have no card? Am I supposed to read minds in order to know that delivery was being failed by the courier?
Everything seemed fine, handled my application quickly, were responsive, application was accepted.. no complaints until it came to postage.
I am extremely unhappy with the service I have received.
I applied for my access card knowing that I would need it for an event on the 4th of October, which I now most likely will not have it for.
I applied on the 27th of AUGUST.
Was then told my card was live on the system on the 5th of SEPTEMBER.
On the 12th of SEPTEMBER I received an email saying I could upgrade postage.
I paid an extra £5 for first class signed for postage, and yet I have STILL not received the card.
That is 10 working days,
As well as 14 days where post is actually received.
First class postage is 1-5 days at the very most.
It's now the 29th of September at the time of writing this review, 5 days until event and it looks like I won't have the card.
Thanks very much guys, hope the £20 serves you well.

Not fit for purpose
Not fit for purpose, it only accounts for PIP which basis your award on a very low quality of life and what you can manage around the home, specifically telling you to book wheelchair access for events etc. This card is a barrier to events and venues that previously allowed you to book what you actually needed as a disabled person to attend and enjoy events. I now find there is very little I can book and attend and it is yet another barrier, not to mention yet another card to pay for instead of just being able to book what you need.
