Wonderful trip, magical! Trip of a lifetime.

As cliche as this may sound, our trip to New Zealand was a vacation of a lifetime. Traveling with Active Adventures was seamless...from the booking process, the what to pack list, managing the itinerary, accommodating special dietary needs, adapting daily excursions to take advantage of weather conditions, and providing a diverse range of scenery and activities. Our guides were beyond exceptional. They took great care in ensuring all guests were having a fun, engaging, enlightening, safe and positive experience.

The Galapagos trip was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. We saw every kind of wildlife that i was hoping to see in abundance.

Our Rimu trip was an awesome experience-itinerary description more than lived up to expectations! Two sudden road closure issues were handled superbly by Active Adventures and our guides. Our guides were wonderfully personable and attentive to our needs. The food was excellent. The huge variety of terrain that we hiked on was spectacular- as were the surroundings on the two kayaking sessions and the biking session. Our group, most of whom were very fit-and in our 50's and 60's-found that the physical challenges were just right- making us tired, hungry and euphoric at the end of a day!

Great pace of activities and just the right amount of down time to make a two week adventure feel full but not exhausting.

Our Rimu trip with Active Adventures gave us a fantastic overview of the South Island of NZ. We had access to places and experiences that are not possible without their deep experience in NZ. Our guides were fantastic: Knowledgeable, organized and great fun to be with.

Absolutely the best company for adventures. They simply do EVERYTHING right.

Loved the whole experience from beginning to end. Great pre-trip communication. Our guides were awesome and the experience was top-notch. I don't think there was a better way to see New Zealand as a first timer (we were on the Rimu Adventure).

The trip was well planned and well executed with experienced local guides who were excellent. They worked hard to meet expectations and also to modify activities if needed. Best way to really see and learn about New Zealand!

Our experience with Dan and Sally was outstanding. We learned that our inexperience in the wilderness was certainly no impediment to an exceptional trip. Dan and Sally did an excellent job of showing us the "behind the scenes" New Zealand, and what a gorgeous country it is! We endorse Active Adventures wholeheartedly and without reservation.

Overall a 5 star experience! But because of the bus driver incident costing us at least a half day I have to rate it a 4.

loved the kauri tour! some of the hotels needed updating but all were clean and had free wifi - the guides were excellent. The bus rides are longer than expected however we did have several stops to help break up the riding time. My husband and I were the oldest on the tour. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants an Active Adventure!

The 8 day trip across multiple sites was highly organised and covered diverse landscapes. The hikes were challenging but immensely satisfying with a 3 day overnight hike staying in backcountry huts from lakeside to high alpine altitudes over truly rugged and magnificent terrain. The surroundings were nothing short of stunning staying next to mirrored lakes and surrounded by high jagged peaks. We traversed beautiful glacial lakes, covered undulating peaks and descended through thick native rainforest at several locations. Franz Josef glacier and the Alex Knob hike were just amazing. The guides were experienced, capable and very well informed on local history and culture. They prepared and cooked fabulous meals after hiking for hours and rendered assistance whenever necessary. Well planned, perfectly executed and the multi activity operations ran like clockwork. A small but great crew and a time to make international friends for life. Five stars for Active Adventures!
