Very fast shipping and attention to detail. I ordered in Australia and came quicker than other items i ordered locally.

Not a smooth or economical process
Not a smooth or economical process. I ordered 2 pair of shoes and had to return both due to fit. I paid about $200 a piece plus $34 to FedEx for duties. My net refund was just under $90 per pair. I lost over $200 collectively taking the chance of doing business with them. I’m fine paying for the shipping, but this is ridiculous. Sadly, I do not see myself doing business here again. It simply does not make economic sense.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re genuinely sorry that the shoes didn’t work out for you and that the cost of returning both pairs made the process feel so uneconomical.
We completely understand your frustration, particularly when ordering internationally. In this case, the refund issued was for the cost of the shoes, with the amount retained relating to the original outbound shipping and the return shipping costs. Unfortunately, international shipping costs are incurred when an order is dispatched and again when it is returned, and these costs are not recoverable by us once the shipment has taken place.
We appreciate that this can make an international return considerably more expensive than a domestic one, and we’re sorry that this was disappointing. We do make our international shipping and returns terms available before purchase, but we understand that knowing the policy and experiencing the actual cost are two very different things.
We’re grateful that you gave us the opportunity to serve you and are sorry that, on this occasion, the experience has left you feeling that you would not shop with us again. We always welcome return customers and are very happy to work with you on emails before the order to establish your requirements up front.

Responsive Customer Service

If I don't buy from them again it's because our US Customs is so badly broken that they've set back international commerce by 50 years. But I guess I shouldn't expect basic competence from the US government. I mean we only spend $7 trillion a year.

Just want to buy European Shoes
I’ve just come to appreciate European Shoes. I’ve ordered 3 of from online stores in UK and US have had no problem. With “Care of Carl” they let me have two shoes at a time to settle the shoe size I needed. When I finally decided on the size, I shipped the other one back. When I saw “A Fine Pair of Shoes” I assumed they were at par with “Carl”, having the impressive online presence. Am thoroughly disappointed and dissatisfied. I should have stayed with the other online stores. If you can’t handle shipping, get out of the online business!
I purchased the shoes for $217.24
Refunded = $138.74
Shipping Charges = $78.5 (ridiculous! At least be honest about the actual shipping charges)
Please, A Fine Pair of Shoes, just give me my shoes in the right size or give me a full refund. Finding the right size shoe is a part of buying a shoe!

We completely understand that finding the correct size is an important part of buying footwear online, and we are always happy to assist customers with sizing before placing an order.
We would, however, like to clarify one important point regarding the refund quoted in your review. The $78.50 was not an undisclosed or arbitrary shipping charge. It represented the outbound shipping cost for sending the shoes to you and the return shipping cost for bringing them back to us.
When you arranged the return with our customer service team, the applicable return terms and charges were clearly presented to you, and you confirmed your acceptance of those terms by ticking the relevant box before proceeding with the refund.
We appreciate that international returns can be costly, but these are genuine carrier charges that we incur in shipping an order internationally and subsequently returning it to the UK. We do not profit from these charges.
We’re sorry that your experience has left you dissatisfied. We would always much rather help a customer find the correct size than have them disappointed with a purchase, and our customer service team remains happy to assist with sizing should you wish to order from us again.
