The tour was excellent and the hotels, sites, tour guide, bus driver and food were outstanding.

Karen was a wonderful guide, very knowledgeable & so easy to get along with, took care to ensure everyone was looked after.
I did feel there were times we didn’t get enough time in a place for example St. Paul de Vaunce, whilst we were in Nice

This was our third tour with Albatross, we were quite happy with our tour. Our tour guide Alex was excellent, a true professional in his field. Most of the Hotels were of a good selection, some outstanding. However, the Hotel in Seville wasn't the best choice, I think Albatross could do better, it was too far from the City. There was one tour that was a waste of time, Aveleda Wine Estate, boring! couldn't wait to get back to Porto, as for the Gardens, I give it 2 out of 10! a better time spent would be a free day at Porto. I feel that Albatross might have dropped the ball a bit on this tour.

Loved the experience of Switzerland. Hotels great. Lovely people in group. Plenty to keep us busy. Tour guide probably needs to retire. I was not happy the way he handled a situation on the trip.

Virtually everything. Excellent tour guide who had great knowledge, sense of humour and very helpful. Hotels were to notch especially the final stay at Lake Garda. Coach drivers were easy to get on with. All in all brilliant.

The overall tours with Albatross were excellent. From the locations and sites visited, the hotels and tour managers, I could not fault them

Especially the Tour managers were amazaing, making sure everything was as expected and helping with requests.

Our tour was the Grand France. We had an awesome time due to our tour guide Karen, who was amazing.So friendly, informative, knowledgeable and fun. Our group was 24 fun loving people who were all considerate and friendly.
We went to some of the most beautiful and amazing places and our accommodation was great.
I do think that sometimes we had very busy days and maybe we could have done one less excursion in a day as some days we were in 3 different areas of interest but not enough time to get to see everything.
So maybe a couple of extra days on tour and on the busy days one less activity.
On the whole an absolutely fantastic experience. Our group loved it.

Monica is such an interesting and amusing tour guide. We loved the vast amount of Italy we covered in our short time. From the beaches of Pesaro to snow capped mountains! The tenor opera singer was a highlight and the end of the trip. Monica was so attentive and made sure everyone was catered for and enjoyed their experience. Monica had very amusing stories and i could not recommend her enough.

We had an amazing guide Karen Newman who made us all feel very safe at all times.
She was efficient and informative in every aspect of our tour but most of all she was very kind, caring and fun to be with. We had 24 guests on our bus, Karen very quickly knew all our names and any special requirements we may have needed. We loved our trip and would recommend Albatross to our friends and family. All hotels were clean and comfortable.
While we enjoyed all our experiences..... some days felt a little too busy, maybe trying to squeeze too much into one day. A little more free time would have been nice.

The company lives up to its excellent reputation except in circumstances when there is a plan B. Our plan B was disappointing and was not up to Albatross’s high standard

I chose this company because it was a tour of Southern Italy and Sicily which is where I wanted to go, I also chose this company because they had several nights in each hotel and I didn't want to pack up and move every second night. I was a solo traveller and unfortunately in 3 of the hotels I was squashed into a small room with nowhere near the same facilities that couples received. The hotels were all supposed to be top class but I think it would be a good idea for an Australian member of Albatross to go to Europe and have a look at all the rooms that their clients were housed in. I saw some of the trulli houses in Alborobello which were beautifully renovated - not mine - dark and tiny. Also in Matera in the cave hotel - some room were large and beautifully set up - as per expectations. Mine was extremely small with no tea or coffee making facilities. I had to go to reception and ask them to bring me a kettle and a cup and coffee and tea. Not what you expect from a supposedly top class hotel.
Hotel in Taormina was lovely and everything I expected as was the vineyard hotel near Agrigento. The others were disappointing.
I also didn't think we had enough time for exploring towns we visited. Sometimes only 2 hours which is a very short time to wander around, worrying about how long it would take to get back to the coach so as not to be late. So the days when we were supposed to have "me time" felt a little rushed.
The coach driver was lovely and efficient.
The guide was sweet and tried to help as much as she could but I didn't feel she was completely on top of her history, geography and political history. A lot of her information was read from her phone.
However, in all fairness to her when I asked her if she could get me a room with a window in Matera she organised it. Alberobello room had no window and was in complete darkness all day and night. Not a comforting sleep as a solo traveller.

I was disappointed in Albatross Tours as I thought it would have a point of difference to the other tour companies. But we were just one of many visiting the same tired overcrowded tourist destinations with too many hour long city tours that blended in to the next. Some accommodation was good others well below par eg toilet didn’t flush. We notified reception but wasn’t fixed. In Castellammare del Golfo our boat cruise was cancelled by the operator due to the weather. Our tour guide left us stranded there for a few hours without even offering a small gesture of compensation such as taking us to lunch. Travelling between our destinations, we stopped at average places like auto grills, for toilet breaks & lunch. The toilets were filthy, lacking toilet paper, hand wash & paper towels.
We did enjoy the 3 to 4 day stays & accommodation in Alberobello, Matera & Taormina.

Beautiful scenery, top-notch accommodation and an easy travelling pace, more than a one night stop is fantastic. Free time to relax or discover more is great.

Well constructed tour and very well balanced. Tour guide, Alex, was outstanding!

Wonderful Tour Director and Itinerary. We covered many small towns that you could not do ordinarily as an tourists without hiring your own vehicle. There was a lot of information shared on subjects that I feel passionately about. Nice small group with some lovely fellow Antipodeans. Great accomodation.

I recently did my first ever tour with Albatross Tours, The Italian Grande. Wow, where do I start...
Our guide Monica was an absolute gem. Her knowledge and sense of humour made the tour not only informative but also fun. I don't think I have laughed so much in such a short span of time. Our driver Massimiliano greeted us daily with a smile and kept us safe on the road. His driving skills are impeccable...
Our accommodation and meals where amazing, so much food included, we certainly didn't go hungry.
The main reason we chose Albatross Tours was because it is a slower based tour with multiple night stays in one destination. Not having to pack up every morning and move hotels made the tour so much more enjoyable. We would just hop on the bus for the day after breakfast and explore the surrounding towns at a reasonable pace, with plenty of free time to do as we pleased. The balance of tours and free time was perfect. We had a whole day free in Montecatini and a few of us took advantage of this to hike the local area.
I shared this experience with 24 other travellers, all varying in age, and I had the most amazing time and have made life long friendships. Albatross Tours met my tour expectations and for me was absolute value for money. I would have no hesitation travelling with them again in the future, it's just going to be hard chosing which tour I will do next 😊

The tour was pricey because it included quality hotels and excursions. Wonderful day trips which involved so much organizing by Albatross. Our tour guide was an expert for the daily co-ordinating and planning. She was so energetic and worked hard.
The meals provided were very good.

Most enjoyable- loved the free ‘my’ time as well as spending a few days in the various o’nite places. One thing that would have been improved upon would have been for the tour guide using some visible item to be more recognisable to the group whilst in crowded places- I,R- a coloured hat, an inverted umbrella, regards, Carol Will
