They don't like paying out LEGITIMATE claims!!!
I had to cancel a holiday to France due to me rupturing my Achilles tendon 8 weeks before I was due to travel because I had to wear an orthopedic boot for 12 weeks and as the holiday involved driving from northwest England to Portsmouth to catch a ferry then driving another 90 miles to our destination we obviously were unable to proceed with the holiday as it is illegal and dangerous to drive in a medical boot. We managed to secure some recompense from both Eurocamp and Brittany Ferries but we were still down another thousand pounds so decided to claim through our bank royalties account which uses Allianz insurance. After sending all the requested information which Allianz instead of requesting at the same time decided to spread out and make us jump through hoops, they then decided they wanted proof that I was unfit to travel not just drive so they asked for some of the the same info again that I'd already sent them including time period I was injured and when my injury was assessed, but this time they wanted a stamped and signed letter from my GP which cost money and time to produce but still they were not satisfied as the GP only mentioned air travel and danger of DVT but as I'm wearing an orthopedic boot I am unable to travel for long periods whether car, train or bus even as a passenger for the same reasons plus I can't walk for very long either. This has all been a very distressing experience and I will be complaining to the FSO about them! Joke of a company!
