Got my teenage son an Asda money card to take to Turkey, as this was sold to me as incurring zero fees. He has been charged at least £3 per transaction he has made on this card. This is not advertised, and furthermore I was told specifically that no charges would be applied for spending abroad and this included Turkey. All in all lost about £60! Absolute rip off. Don’t even bother calling customer services, they don’t understand you and vice versa. Shocking day light robbery! Wished I’d have checked reviews first.

Don't use this card had money on the card and it declined a payment for 164 euros had to you my UK debit card when I looked later it had took the payment twice saying pending be 5 days and last 328 euros taken out and not put back in
Called them waste of time
Don't use will ruin you time away
Had post office one used it loads no problem at all so don't get a asda travel card

****Warning Do Not Get This Card To Take Abroad Simply*** a lot of stress hassle & unnecessary bs & miscommunication with a Philippines call centre badly handling ALL enquiries relating to your card which they didn’t understand me nor me them very frustrating to say the least & put it mildly but in a nutshell I lost my card 3 days into a 28 trip & was advised they’d send a replacement to my hotel it never arrived but get home to find they delivered it to my home address instead an absolute joke to deal with a nightmare to liaise with & Would Not Recommend You Get This If you want no hassle and peace of mind this whole situation has been an absolute farce to put it mildly & a card I’d definately avoid using in the future backed by travelex.com which 2 staff admitted today that the call centre are a complete nightmare to deal with Do yourself a favour & Avoid Getting This At All Costs my story alone could be a book What a waste of time energy and effort Truly terrible I have nothing else to say but for your own peace of mind avoid these reviews alone warrant an avoidance of this card backed up by a very poor service card and customer service it is absolutely farcical that the matters we raise are dealt with in a Philippines call centre who Have Not a clue about us show any care or attention they do not listen and send your replacement card back home instead of where you need it so lost for words am escalating to the FCA simply as getting no where with these lot currently and am beyond any more words but felt I needed to add this review to prevent any one thinking about getting this or wanting this card as is a complete nightmare and has been from start to finish and the service provided has been really bad & to much hassle for my

It's an absolute nightmare trying to top up the card.

Absolute waste of time, tried to topup 7 times going through all of the authentication and then bank approvals over and over ...useless not I'm stuck using my UK card overseas and gotta pay all the charges that entails....don't waste your time on any Asda products for travelling....raging...

I bought a travel card from asda and it was a nightmare, the people working at travel money desk in Dagenham are utterly useless, I don't know how did they manage to mess up a simple task like entering my info in their system. I bought this card and moved money into it, then a few weeks later before traveling i downloaded the app but couldn't active the card. I then rang Mastercard which suggested me to go to the branch were I purchased the travel card. I then went there and they weren't able to find me in their system despite having the papers that I signed two weeks earlier in front of them. They weren't able to find my info and I couldn't activate my card so I couldn't use the money initially loaded into that card while away. The most frustrating thing is the fact that the people working at travel money desk didn't have a clue of what they were doing. Very poor service

As I was doing my weekly shopping in Asda Canterbury last week, “I thought” it was a good idea to get euros at the same time.
I brought £600 with me, but said to round it off if it made it easier. So for £614,95, he gave me 700 euros. However when I returned home and looked at Asda money on my laptop I was furious saw my £614.95 should have been 718 euros.So to say I felt a little upset would be an understatement.However that said I have been shopping at Asda Canterbury for some 35 years and of course will continue to do so.

Broke my mobile on holiday in Australia. They wanted proof of purchase of my mobile 5yrs old and wanted a quote from a repair shop of how much it would cost . Why ask for how much it would cost as they only will give £200 per item when the phone will be £400 to fix plus they take £100 excess fee - will never take travel insurance with this company again ! Rubbish .

Called the asda travel money line. The guy who answeredd the phone sounded like he was from the hood and could not be bothered to be there. I asked a basic question and instead of finding out the answer he transferred me to a different department. Lazy staff.

Fraudulent service. Do not use! Money missing from my account. I'm still waiting to get it back. Spent nearly $200 at a shop which the transaction failed. Showed as pending on my account. Refused to refund money. Luckily I had saved the receipt so they refunded that. Another 2 transactions failed and showed as pending until I contacted the company that had failed them and they contacted the card company.
Paid for another transaction and the money has been taken off twice but only one showing. Still waiting for that refund which is currently fraud. Had to pay a deposit for breakages when arriving at the hotel. On departure they refunded. 2 weeks later and I'm still waiting for my money which has vanished into thin air.
DO NOT USE THIS CARD. CAN'T CONTACT THE 0800 NUMBER AS ITS DEAD. When you ring the "from overseas" number you can't get the UK and nothing gets done. Looks like an English person on the emails but you can't email them directly.
Shocking service. When I get my money back I will burn the card and never use it again.

I was served by Judith at Asda Travel Money, Birchwood, Warrington. Judith was very helpful, friendly and a pleasure to deal with on a very wet December evening. I found ordering online and collecting instore very straight forward. I would highly recommend Asda Travel Money, Birchwood, Warrington.

Got charged 2.99 wasn't told about it and didn't notice until I got home. Will never get currency from Asda again. Please everyone be careful and check everything if you go there

Unfortunately there was NO star option, was sold this card by the lady who works in the bureau in Asda how great it was no charges she advised. Go for that why should I be charged for using my own money. So signed up our spending money went into the card. Arrived at our destination started using the card 11 days later great holiday. I kept count of what was being spent so knew exactly what I was spending. On the plane bought hubby aftershave so money was well spent now. Ones home week later I received an email from Asda to say the payment for Jet2 was rejected strange I thought. Went into ASDA online app for card opened transaction and low and behold 20 charges this was for each time the card was used. I had previously been advised NO CHARGES raging was an understatement. I had gone back into Asda to change money that I had left. Lady who recommended the card how was the card she asked, I said wouldn’t be using it again due to the charges, again the lady said there are no charges, asked to look at online account and took details of each charge. At that point she said I think they charge in Turkey. She knew I was going to Turkey, as while being talked into taking the card I also bought Lira for tips. Lady apologies said she was unaware that there would be charges, but had heard maybe Turkey do SO FALSE ADVERTISING if you thought Turkey had charges shouldn’t I have been informed as I would have never have taken the card. she asked for my name and contact number someone wld call me, 3 weeks later NO call. I have emailed the customer service X2 NO REPLY. Please do not use this card rip off!!! If I wanted 20 charges I’d have used my own bank card. PLS DO NOT TAKE THIS CARD. I have looked online so many ones that you won’t be charged.

Claims to be a ‘flexible’ card but I can’t put my left over euros onto the card, it has to be pounds 🤷🏼‍♀️

The worst travel insurance ever underwritten by reactive claims. Had a bleed in breast consultant told me not to fly. Got G.P to fill in form, sent off all documents and nothing. Emailed and nothing. Am now going through ombudsman they're a joke

I shall be using an alternative travel card in the future after my card being rejected leaving me extremely embarrassed & stressed which spoiled my holiday.
