If you are looking for a tour company in Vietnam, look no further than Asia Tourify. I recently returned from a three-week trip to Vietnam and Cambodia and couldn't be more pleased with the outstanding service and attention to detail.

First, we had very specific interests for our tour and started communicating six months in advance. Our Asia Tourify representative, Duyen Do, was exceptional in both listening to our needs and suggesting ideas, with no communication barriers. More importantly, everything we discussed was fully taken care of: flights, hotels, tours, dietary needs, etc. She also made sure to outline everything in daily itinerary sheets with inclusions and exclusions, so there was no confusion.

On a tour of this length and scale, there will inevitably be things beyond anyone’s control, and Duyen Do was always available—even proactively reaching out—to make sure everything was running smoothly or to help adjust if there were issues, like flight delays or a broken air conditioner. Everything was handled professionally and QUICKLY. On that note, I highly recommend bringing an unlocked phone and getting a $20 US SIM card at the airport—it’s invaluable for easy communication.

Price

I found the price comparable to other tour companies for private tours. For group tours, every itinerary varies, but looking at group tours with around 25 people and similar itineraries, we paid about $1000 USD more. This comparison isn’t entirely fair since our private tour allowed us to adjust everything to our personal needs and interests and see even more. So for us, that $1000 was well worth it for the personalized service we received.

One of the best examples of this was how we coordinated our schedule so that we were often the only two people at certain sites—amazing! This even included some temples in Siem Reap, which was unbelievable. Huge thanks to our guides My, Miss Channy, Mr. Thanh, and Nien for making this possible.

What could be improved:

First, let me say that I was extremely happy with everything. However, there are a few areas for improvement:

Slightly better communication with the local tour guides Asia Tourify hires.

A daily overview from tour guides on what to expect. Not just the site names, but also expectations for dress, tipping, and what is included/excluded in the tour would be VERY helpful.

I understand that conversations about dress and money can be awkward, but there are tactful ways to approach these topics. Personally, I just want to be prepared (like bringing extra toilet paper!) and be aware of options, like a $3 audio guide. There were several times when we left sites, and we were told to leave a tip, which was fine, but we didn’t always have small change on hand. I would have come prepared if I had known. After all, this was a private tour, and we were relying on our guides to inform us in advance.

It’s important to note that Asia Tourify subcontracts tour companies, guides, and drivers throughout the country. While everything was fantastic with Asia Tourify, we occasionally encountered challenges with local tour guides who didn’t fully understand our itinerary preferences or assumed we wanted to do what every other tourist does. It was clear that Duyen Do and Asia Tourify communicated everything, but it didn’t always seem to be fully understood by the guides. Not Asia Tourify’s fault, but perhaps a quick check-in with each tour guide the day before might be beneficial to ensure they understand guest expectations, especially since the local guide may have just joined the tour.

On tipping, Duyen Do handled the topic of ""tour guide tipping"" tactfully when I asked what was expected. She was very clear that tipping, unlike in Canada, was 100% optional and typically ranged from $5-10 per day if we wished to tip for good service. We greatly appreciated this as there was no pressure, but since we chose to tip the hardworking guides and drivers, it was great to know what was customary so we could have the right amount of cash/change ready each day.

Conclusion

As you can see, my suggestions for improvement are minor communication adjustments that can easily be made. I wanted to provide a constructive and comprehensive review.

I would rate the service and experience as five-star, and these tiny changes would make it even better. Thanks, Duyen Do, for an amazing trip. You deserve a raise!

Took a north-to-south Vietnam private tour through Asia Tourify during the first two weeks of August. Duyen Do was extremely helpful during the inquiry and booking process and even met us for dinner on our first night. The tour started in Hanoi, then Halong Bay, Hoi An, Hue, and finally Ho Chi Minh City. We were able to spread the 9-day tour over 15 days, giving us plenty of free days to relax. All drivers and guides were great, and I would thoroughly recommend this company.

Trang from Asia Tourify in Hanoi has been an excellent TripAdvisor...from arranging our South to North tour and adding extras as we requested! Every transfer was on time and professional, we always felt safe and treated as VIP wherever we arrived! The itinerary is excellent, covers most of Vietnam and filled with surprises!! Food was included in many daily tours in our Itinerary so we also tasted the best of Vietnam food! This tour is to be recommended to any one who wish to have a lifetime experience of Vietnam culture / food / beach / countryside / Halong bay / old cities / photography / hustle and bustle of city life and many more!! We booked our tour with Asia Tourify because we wanted to learn more about Vietnamese history and traditions. It was well worth it, as our local guide, Dung was very knowledgeable and informative. We called a smaller operator because we wanted to avoid the rushed, impersonal tours that the big tour companies provide. And we were very happy with Dung, who adapted very well to our preferences and our rhythm, always with a big smile. At first Vietnam seems like a very hectic country where everybody is in a hurry, but if you take your time and relax it will be a very enjoyable experience.

We never use travel agencies for our holidays as we think they over charge you and are annoying with all the group activities. But this time, since it was our first time in Vietnam, we decided to give it try so they can show us local places and etc. And we didn't regret it, from the beginning Duyen Do was so nice during our planning over emails, her English is excellent. And then, when we arrived to the airport we were greeted by Tony who was attentive, charismatic and very knowledgeable about Hanoi and Vietnam in general. Tony (our guide) and our driver took us from Hanoi to two of the little towns near by on a private tour, and we loved it, they showed us the real Vietnam and explained everything in detail. If we go back to Southeast Asia in the future, for sure we will contact them again.
