The app and included photos disappeared…
The app and included photos disappeared from my phone after some issues. when that happened, our frame went down as well, showing a restart with no pictures. We still don't understand why. Nonetheless, I reached out to customer service and Haley has been FABULOUS! All of the issues were fixed and photos were restored. Nothing short a little miracle. We brag on our Aura frame and tell about how much we love it all the time and this will certainly be added to our story. Great great customer service!

Disappointing experience.
I recently purchased an Aura Frame (Walden model) for a business project that involved setting it up at a trade show. The deadline was tight, so I rushed to Best Buy to grab the frame. I chose the Walden because of its size, but when I arrived at the exhibit and opened the box (I’m in the USA), I discovered the plug was for UK customers.
What followed was a chaotic four-hour ordeal that felt like a circus—except it wasn’t my circus, and they weren’t my monkeys. Our local Best Buy didn’t have any more frames in stock, except for the display model, which had the correct cord. I suggested they let me borrow the cord for the trade show, but they flat-out refused. Their only solution was to send me on a 40-minute drive to another Best Buy, which wasn’t an option given the time constraints. Frustrated, I went home, dug out some converter plugs, and managed to get the frame running—though the setup looked ridiculous, with tape holding everything together.
Once the frame was operational, the issues didn’t stop. The hotel where we were exhibiting only had basic public Wi-Fi, and the frame was so poorly engineered that a “WEAK INTERNET SIGNAL” banner appeared across every single photo. Worse, the photos displayed at 15-second intervals, which is far too slow for a fast-paced trade show environment. There’s no option to adjust the interval to 5 or 7 seconds, which would have been far more practical. I couldn’t help but wonder what the design team was thinking. Why would anyone think it’s a good idea to plaster a banner on every photo? And why limit the display intervals to such an impractical duration?
The frustration didn’t end there. The fact that Aura shipped a frame to the USA with a UK-style plug is baffling. How does something like this pass quality control? On top of that, I had to reach out multiple times—through their website, contact forms, and other channels—just to get the issue addressed. It felt like I had to push and push to get any resolution.
This entire experience left me embarrassed for Aura Frame’s engineering and customer service teams. I wish I could approach my business life with the same laid-back, laissez-faire attitude they seem to have. Unfortunately, I can’t recommend this product or the company, and I certainly won’t be shopping at Best Buy again after their lack of support.
Really great product
Really great product. So easy to set up and use. Bought as a present for Mothers Day - and had lots of fun setting this up with my girls! Would highly recommend.
good product but tricky to transfer pics to 2nd frame
We were given a Carver Mat frame for Christmas and we love the way that we can now display our digital photos and receive pics from our children. Given this positive experience I’ve now bought a frame for my parents.
I do though want to share a couple of minor negatives to be aware of:
1) transferring pics to another frame is more difficult than it should be. There should be an easy to use portal which enables you to readily manage transfers from one frame to another. Right now its hard work to do it via your activity list or by emailing pics to the new frame.
2) the WiFi reception seems pretty poor Every other device I have connects readily to my home mesh but the Aura frame is regularly showing a poor connection so much so that I’ve had to buy a booster.
Having made these points, would I buy another one? Definitely!

Their customer service is outstanding. I have two Aura digital frames, one at home and one at the office, and love the way they work but mostly how easy they are to work with. I just had a problem with the led screen on one of them, sent them an email, and within 72 hours, the brand new replacement frame was delivered at my door step. I will never buy any other brand again. Thanks AURA ;-)
A bit expensive but totally worth it
One of the best purchases we’ve made - we bought the biggest frame and use it for our honeymoon & wedding photos, and we love it. It even plays videos / Live Photos and it’s such a nice add to our living room. We even got our for my in laws and upload a few photos of ours to their frame remotely, and its so nice. If you have long distance family, this is such a nice way to send them new photos and videos of you + kids / pets etc. Highly recommend!
Fantastic product & support if things go wrong !
I have used an Aura frame for about 18 months, and it is fantastic. It’s easy to set up and manage the account both at home and remotely by family members.
The key thing for me is how a company deal with issues- I bought a frame for my son and they had problems with how the frame functioned. I got in touch with their support team, and they responded very quickly, suggesting solutions, and ultimately giving us a replacement frame. This frame was just over a year old, and I expected that to be an issue, but it wasn’t !
After I received the new frame, they sent me another email to check that everything is ok. It certainly was !
Aura sent a damaged/defected frame
Aura sent a damaged/defected frame. This was a gift for my parents and the frame arrived with damage/permanent stains. After trying to send it back in exchange for a new one without any damage, the customer service refused and said we would have to return it and order a new one. Unfortunately, I purchased this during black friday and the frame was significantly cheaper. Now they are making me buy a new one full price, even though its their fault for sending me a damaged one. Scummy company, their product is average at best, 1 star and wouldn't recommend buying from this company.

I shipped a frame to my parents in Canada and it was delivered to the wrong address. The company would do nothing to help me and told me I had to figure it out with the shipping company. Ruined my Christmas gift for my parents. DO NOT PRE LOAD PHOTOS OF YOUR KIDS.
Do not shop with this company. Their ‘policy’ and customer service team are atrocious.
An exercise in frustration
I was given the gift of an Aura frame for Christmas but unable to complete the setup. Specifically I could not enter gift code and the chat ai assistant could not help me. The ai assistant elevated my complaint to Brian on email but he never showed up.
Great Alternative to Facebook
I don't use social media so this has been an amazing way to share pictures of my kids to my family spread across Canada. Love how easy it was to set up and load with picture. 10/10 recommend!
The Software Is Unbelievably Bad
The Good:
The screen resolution and brightness are amazing. The photos come alive on this frame.
The power cord is good quality and long enough for most/reasonable installations
If you are purchasing it for a parent and you want to manage their photos on it, it’s probably a perfect solution as long as you don’t expect much for photo management.
It does have an option to view slideshow by date or shuffle.
It has “Unlimited” photo uploads to their cloud service so you don’t have to worry about managing SD card sizes and all. I put Unlimited in quotes as like everything that is always subject to change.
The Bad:
First and foremost, it automatically crops all portrait photos to fill the aspect ratio even though during the setup, it asks you how you would like to handle the edges of photos that don’t fit (i.e. if you are displaying a vertical photo and your frame is horizontal – do you want the edges to simply be black?). I can’t understand why they thought this was a good idea. When I take photos, I like to see my entire photo, not some randomly cropped photo. The worst of this is it is done by default with no way of turning the “Feature” off. The only way to un-crop each photo is to select each one, see if it was cropped, and if so, select the button to un-crop it, hit save, and proceed to the next photo. Not that bad if you only have 3 photos.
Second, the advertisements lead you to believe it works seamlessly with Google Photos and their Albums. It does not work at all seamlessly. For example, you can indeed select an album in Google Photos and upload it to the frame. But when the album arrives, you now have to select each individual photo and add it to the frame. Why would I as a user need to do this? And to make matters worse, why on earth don’t they have a “Select All” button? Also the “Auto Add” feature works to the extent that if a photo is added in the Google album, it will indeed be added to the frame, but again, it will not show in the slideshow unless you manually hunt for the added photos, and turn this on individually. This is inexcusable!
Thirdly, I was led to believe that I could have various albums such that I can turn them on / off easily so if we have guests that want to see the grand kids, I simply turn the others off and turn the grand kids on. That would be such a basic function, but it is missing completely.
There is no web interface for the frame such that I can use my laptop to sort things out – it all has to be done on the phone via the app which I hate. I know the young generation can handle this without an issue but I sure wish I could use my laptop screen.
A lesser concern, but one none the less: The thought that I am dependent on the Aura Cloud worries me for 2 reasons. A) If Aura gets purchased by another company all bets are off for that “Unlimited Photo Storage” which is currently included with the frame. And B) If Aura simply goes out of business (which is a real possibility, especially if they don’t fix their software for basic functionality) then the frame will be useless. Of course, this is always the big trade off with having to manage your own memory card which applies to any device dependent on a cloud service.
Aura’s customer support experience has…
Aura’s customer support experience has been deeply frustrating and ineffective. My issue was repeatedly misunderstood, and I was sent generic, scripted responses instead of receiving meaningful, tailored assistance.
I purchased a new frame for myself and it adopted content from a frame I was a collaborator on for a different family member. Now their frame doesn’t work and mine has all their photos.
I went back and forth with customer support numerous times and spent over five hours troubleshooting and corresponding, yet the issue STILL HAS NOT BEEN properly resolved. Each response felt disconnected from the previous one, forcing me to repeatedly re-explain the same problem without progress.
There is no live support or clear escalation path, which makes resolving anything beyond the most basic issue nearly impossible. For a product marketed as simple and family-friendly, the setup and account management experience is unnecessarily complicated.
For a premium-priced product, this level of customer care is unacceptable. I expected far better support, accountability, and follow-through.
Aura is amazing !
I very stupidly crushed the power cable, I emailed Aura to explain what had happened, Faustine from Aura, emailed me very quickly, saying she would replace the power cord, it arrived two days later, I was so impressed by this service I bought another for my business partner, and will buy more for friends, if you're looking for the perfect present, Aura is the one for you!
Aura Frames has been the best company
Aura Frames has been the best company. Their frames are excellent... my mom, sister and sister-in-law all have them and we interact with our pics. They did not have to replace my frame.. it was well out of warranty and yet they did. They have excellent customer service when one believes it is nearly non-existent.
