My mom has always loved writing poetry, but she never asked me to publish her poems. She had written quite a few over the years, and I thought it would be a nice surprise to turn them into her first poetry book. I decided to arrange everything as gift for her without telling her about it.

I hired Harry Brown from Authors Book Publishing to help me with the project. I had never published a book before, so I had plenty of questions. Harry was very kind and easy to talk to. He spoke to me like we already knew each other, which made the whole process feel comfortable. He explained the things I didn't understand and helped me with the details needed to get my mom's poems ready for the book.

When I finally gave the book to my mom, she was genuinely surprised. She sat down started looking through the pages and reading some of her poems. She never expected to see her writing as a real book. Harry made the process simple, and the team at Authors Book Publishing handled all the publishing details clearly.

I originally self-published my book in 2015, but having never done this before, I didn’t format it correctly and was not happy with the result, and I always wanted to get it corrected. I approached Authors Book Publishing with a view to re-publishing it. I went online and left my details, and someone promptly phoned me. The guy I spoke to was very helpful, friendly, and reassuring. He told me that what I wanted was completely doable.
I was then phoned by a manager, Emily Rose, but found there was a bit of a language barrier because I couldn’t understand her accent. I told her this, so then I was transferred to Stella Jones. When I spoke to her on the phone there was the same problem, so all correspondence thereafter was conducted by email. This was perfect as the emails were written in perfect English. Stella was polite, patient with me, and carried out my requests with professionalism. She was extremely attentive, and kept me updated every step of the way.
Initially I had my concerns because of a few bad reviews I’d read, but like anything, there will always be someone who isn’t 100% happy, but now, from my own experience, and seeing the result of my book, Ella’s Journey, again for sale on Amazon, in the format it was always intended to be, I am very happy. Although their service is very good value, I would advise that you should arrange your own copyright. They insist on this in order to complete the process. I was able to get this for £54, whereas if Authors Book Publishing had done this for me it was going to cost £600. This was my only bugbear, because other than that my experience with them was a positive one, and I would be happy to recommend them to anyone seeking to self-publish. They offer a proofreading and editing service too, but I did my own. They make sure that you are entirely happy with the end result before completion and publishing. It is definitely worth the money.

When I was ready to pay, my bank transaction didn't go through. I told Harry about the problem, and he said he could keep my discounted slot reserved while I sorted it out. It took me four days to fix the bank issue, but the slot was still there when I made the payment.
I went through the manuscript with the team and talked about few parts of the story that I wanted to keep as they were. They worked on the editing and checked the book for mistakes before it moved forward. I also had to make a few decisions about the final version that I hadn't thought much about before. It was my first time publishing a romance book, so I learned quite a bit about the process.

My book was published a couple years ago, but I never thought much about having an author website. Later, a few people asked if I had a place where they could learn more about me and my book, and I realized I didn't have anything to share. That's when I decided to get an author website.

I shared my book details, a short biography, and a few photos. We had to go back and forth a few times because I wanted some sections arranged differently, and it took a little longer than I expected to get everything finalized.

The finished website was clean and easy to use, which was all I really wanted.
