Never Buy from Auto Nation Volkswagen of Georgia

Never Buy from Auto Nation Volkswagen of Georgia
Placed retainer on a 2003 Corvette on 20 Jan 24, internet transaction with Grace Baker and Peter.
Did not receive, was told papers would be overnighted to me to sign and return with certified check.
After several calls and emails, finally received papers 2 weeks later.
Was told they have the best shippers for transporting the car to Florida. When the car arrived, I pointed out damages to driver's side. Driver said "no English" best driver's and cannot speak English?
I immediately called Peter and sent photos received lip service that AutoNation would make it right.
Called Peter several more times and received the same lip service, no call backs or returned text.
Called and requested to speak with the used car manager and each time sent to a number with no answer, left my name, phone number, and issue with no call backs.
Have also requested copies of the sale paperwork signed by AutoNation and have yet to receive them.
Should also mention the car was received with 1/8th tank of gas. In all my years of buying cars I have NEVER received a car without a full tank of gas
Steer clear of this business!

Contacted AutoNation customer service on March 2, 2024 for assistance. Received correspondence back from Elizabeth B that customer satisfaction was their top priority and the complaint had been formally documented. Guess that is all customer service does is document it since I have sent two follow up emails with no response.

Phoenix/Avondale Location IS HORRIBLE

Stay as far away from this dealership as possible. The service BEFORE the sale was excellent, the service AFTER the sale has been horrendous. We have, in writing, from them that they were gong to cut us a spare key fob (car only had one). Well, that was three weeks ago and they've been giving us the runaround since then (thank God we have it in writing). The writing said they have 30 days to provide us with the fob, and I bet they're TRYING to wait for that 30 days to expire. Well, we have all of the communication proof that we've been asking for this for weeks. We have spoken to Chris, Mike, two JJ's (a young lady that sold us the car and a male by the same name), and Tracy trying desperately to get this key cut and all of them seemed to be trained to give us the run around. They told my nephew to go to their Chrysler dealership today (Monday the 19th) to get the key. Well, he drove 42 miles round trip, only to be told they knew nothing about him coming in for a key fob. This is TOTALLY unacceptable and unprofessional. My niece got them to give her the number to the key folks directly and they told her she could’ve called them initially! NO ONE, I mean NO ONE at the dealership ever told us we can call and make an appointment directly with the key guys, so that was great to know THREE WEEKS LATER. No one at this dealership has a clue how to conduct business after the sale and we will never, ever look in their direction for our next car. We paid cash for the car AND bought an extended warranty to only be treated like we didn't but a thing and spent four hours there. We were bamboozled initially but after the fact, they don't give a crap about their customers AFTER they've made the sale. We're willing to do WHATEVER IT TAKES to get what they promised us IN WRITING no matter how long it takes. Businesses can't get away with this unscrupulous behavior and we'll get what we were promised. Please ignore any positive reviews we gave because now we know what they’re about. I'd rather buy from a buy here pay here type place than deal with these clueless folks. Please check other platforms for the same review.

Sales is TBD/no second key/paperwork is…

If I had known, I would only be given one key it would have been a non-starter. Sales did not tell me I was only getting one key until the deal was done. Oh! You will get it in the mail in two months. Actually, you have to call Toyota and ask where your key is and then get in line and go to the dealer parts dept to get it.
Sales was ok but the paperwork is still being resolved (unknow Title and Registration issues).
I suggest you do not do the electronic signature and spend a full hour reviewing all the paperwork line by line and ask questions. If you don't like the answer, ask for clarification in writing. All items you decline write decline in large letters on the document and sign it. Never got a zero balance statement as I paid cash.
Everyone was courteous but do not rush through closing like we did. Pain is good.
Easy way is not always the best way to do business.
I have bought at least 5 Vehicles from them and traded 3-4 Toyotas in on purchases. If you are price shopping, get a quote from them first!
Standard procedures are 3 quotes!

DO NOT SHOP HERE

DO NOT SHOP HERE

I regret to share my deeply unsatisfactory experience at AutoNation Buick GMC, specifically with Nick Sandberg.

I attempted to buy a vehicle in cash, and everything seemed promising until they insisted on proof of my "authority" to make the purchase under a business. Despite being legally listed as CO Owner on our bank account, they encountered issues verifying my authorization. They pulled our articles of incorporation, which, according to legal advice, do not specify signing authorization beyond the listed owner.

In an attempt to comply, I consulted with and provided a legal statement signed by all necessary parties upon the dealership's request, but they failed to specify the required format until less than 10 minutes before my arrival. After multiple visits, they eventually demanded a company letterhead for my statement during my final visit. I would have provided all the “necessary” material if they had simply spelled it out. These requirements seemed entirely unnecessary and were deemed excessive by both my banker and the fleet manager at Chevy, whom I consulted on the matter.

This ordeal has been frustrating, extremely time-consuming, and, in my opinion, reflects poorly on the dealership's understanding of what proves signing authority. Regardless of their policy, they should have provided an outline of what they deem “adequate authorization” before I drove from the mountains multiple times.

This will be a great topic to discuss on The Troubleshooter Show.

BUYER BEWARE!

BUYER BEWARE!! I purchased a used vehicle from Auto Nation in Lone Tree. The sales portion went well; no complaints. However, I live three hours away and picked up my vehicle and started heading home. I noticed the air in the front left tire was low. When I got back I took my car to my mechanic to put air in the tires. He was unable to put air in the tire as it had "Fix a Flat" product in the new tire. I drove this car over Vail Pass in a snow storm. These types of tire sealants are temporary fixes and not to be driven 175 miles! The lack of disclosure about this put me at risk as there is no spare for this car. My mechanic had to clean out the Fix a Flat material and replace the stem. Managment knew the tire had been flat and a tire sealant product was used as the General Manager had been driving the car and he's the one that got the flat. I found this situation extremely unprofessional. To add insult to injury a few days after this incident I went to start the car and the battery was dead! I was informed that the battery was the original (5 years old) and should have been replaced based on their multi-point inspection process.

The Dealer and use of Carfax

I purchased a previously owned Ford Expedition XLT from AutoNation Ford (sold to Greico Ford of Delray Beach FL) I asked several times about any accident - as there was overspray on back drivers quarter panel. The sales associate assured me there was none - relayed (para phrase) “ this is an existing customer- trades between 50-60,000 miles ALL service is done by their dealership.” I kept pushing -he called the sales mgt and GM - they showed up with a Carfax - sure enough- numerous services were listed - an NO accident. I purchased it - on the drive back across the state - the SUV bounced all the way - the brakes ground - I called and was told to take it to AutoNation FT Myers - that service manger drive it came back and said “this vehicle should never have left the lot let alone be on the road” they replaced 4 struts - brakes all around - on a vehicle that listed 58,000 miles over a 5 year span. This vehicle was purchased to tow a trailer trailer for my cancer ridden wife that wanted see the USA before her death. 2000 miles later the engine blew!! Now the vehicle with NO accident- cracking and chipped paint began on the back quarter panel at gas receptacle- $6700 quote by national repair company to fix “no accident”. I contacted the state of Florida AG - they were great involving DFMV - I contacted AutoNation thru the customer service line - that associate was GREAT and called me getting the same details above - she then sent an email stating the Market President Had it and was investigating- I’ve heard nothing since before Christmas even after me emailing them last week. I feel taken by fraud using a noted CarFax to hide accident

I purchased a 2018 Alfa Romeo giulia …

I purchased a 2018 Alfa Romeo giulia from here about 5 months ago and I am now finding out the car needs a new engine. Ever since I purchased this car it’s been problems with the car and also the service department/dealership. i was told the car had gotten an oil change , serviced and new brakes were put in. Within two weeks the oil light was on and the breaks were squeeking. I brought it to the service department where I was then told that they did not hear any squeaking so they would not change the brakes. I then brought it to Alfa Romeo, Larchmont, where I found out that the brakes were actually warped and never had been changed. I also found out the oil change had not been done, and actually the oil was 4 quartz over. When I then brought this problem to the service department attention they told me they would do the oil change, which for the second time they actually did not do, they only let out oil which then brought the oil too low, which is unsafe for the engine. Also the engine light would come on and off, I brought it to service department attention but I was told they cannot look at the car If the check engine light is not permanently on, “ AutoNation policy “. Fast forward 5 months I find out the car needs a new engine and I am out of my warranty with autonation. They refused to service my car and nothing has been done.

The purchase experience was fine. But the aftermath was a disappointment.

The purchase experience was fine. But the aftermath was a disappointment.

When buying a car from AutoNation St. Louis, make sure you are happy enough with the car that you don’t need any follow up work. Make sure it does not require a return visit. Return visits and follow up maintenance are an afterthought for these guys. They want to move as many cars off the lot as possible and won’t fulfill their agreements. I realize this is typical for any used car dealership, but AutoNation St. Louis is no different. So be mindful of this when you shop there.

- My car buying experience worked out well. In one day we found a car, worked out the financing and left the lot with a car we love. Deangelo was our salesperson.

- There was some cosmetic work that sill needed to be done. AutoNation St. Louis agreed to cover up some small paint chips and scratches in a follow up visit.

- I dropped the car off to get the service done. I was out of town for a week. This gave them plenty of time to wrap things up. I spoke with 2 different individuals and we agreed on the pickup date. One was a member of the service department. When I dropped off the car, we did a walk around and she confirmed they were good to move forward.

- I called the day before pickup to make sure the car was ready. The person I spoke with said the manager was out of town. She didn’t know too much. It was a fishy conversation and I could tell they hadn’t done the work yet.

- The next day, I called ahead before driving a half hour to pick up the car. Turns out it was sitting on their lot all week and no one touched it. FAIL!

- The Service Manager was out of town. I spoke with a couple different people. Ended up on the phone with Rich, a Director from a different department. Rich pushed it through. By this time my window had closed, so I picked it up the next day.

- Upon inspection of my car, they didn’t make all the cosmetic changes agreed upon. Rich explained that this was never possible because it required body work. I really wish Rich was around to tell me this during the sale. I needed my car, so after some back and forth I decided not to play hard ball. So I left the lot pissed off.

BAD EXPERIENCE WITH AUTONATION ST. LOUIS. The quality of customer service drops once you roll off the lot. And they don’t honor their agreements.

BONUS ISSUE: Everyone says they’ll fill up your tank before you leave. Deangelo threw this in as part of the sale. Rich said he’d fill up my tank to make up for the service issues. Listen, I can afford my own gas. But if you’re going to offer it, then you should do it. I had to remind Deangelo a couple times. Rich never did! LOL

Nearly $700 wasted and the car is in…

Nearly $700 wasted and the car is in worse condition! The technicians are unprofessional and the customer service was far below average! They ruined a birthday gift, and soiled the holiday season.

I purchased a front/rear brake pad service on Dec 5th, as a birthday gift to my girlfriend. The brakes were squeeking loud and in need of repair. The first technician came out and ran diagnostics. He said everything looked great and we only needed to do the brake pads.

Once he left, we took the car out for errands. An even louder and more aggressive screeching started! We immediately called back Autonation Mobile Service / Repair Smith. They scheduled a same day appointment, in which they cancelled. They proceeded to cancel again for two more days, until finally arriving Friday the 8th.

The new technician gets in the car and "claims" he can't hear the VERY LOUD SCREECHING. - He literally lies to my face and proceeds to troll us like it's a game. The entire WORLD can hear the screeching, aside from him of course! - After I called him out, he continued to lie and says he could hear the belt winding, but not the very LOUD brake screeching.

He spewed some more nonsense, and then suggested we purchase a rotor service from them! Told him to leave and proceeded to file a complaint with the company.

This was an absolutely insane experience. Please do not let them anywhere near your vehicle. Contacted customer service for a full refund, as I will now have to spend more money and time at a different shop!

Update: Customer service called and offered "OEM" brakes pads as a resolution. They insisted, I must have ordered the incorrect ones and completely ingored that a poor service was done on the car. Absolute Scammers!

Brought in new 2023 BMW 840 i for…

Brought in new 2023 BMW 840 i for recall and oil change. Digital key was recalled for repair. Left car entire day as requested, then go to pick it up and find they didn't have the digital key card. I had to schedule another full day repair. Requested a receipt, and spoke to three different people, left message with Jarrod Brown for him to call, and got nowhere. No call back. No receipt. Nor reschedule for repair. Zero. Hung up by someone twice by their "accident". Crazy that they have NO PERSONAL SERVICE. Luxury? Really? It's a JOKE THERE!!!

Stay Away from Service Dept

I made an appointment at AutoNation Hyundai months ago for an oil change and tire rotation. A week before my appointment, I bought new tires. I thought I was still under the maintenance contract so I didn't think about the tire rotation. I didn't know that I wasn't under it until after the service was complete. The service adviser mentioned the new tires when telling me that I needed an alignment before they started work on my car. So he knew that my tires were brand new. At no time did he ask me if I still wanted the rotation. So I was charged $92 for something that I didn't need. In addition to that, my service ticket states that my tires "need attention soon". No, they don't. So why say that they do? Are you trying to rip people off? A few days later when I opened my hood to change my air filter, I noticed the cap to the washer fluid container was left up and it was almost empty. I'm not surprised because when the tech drove my car around, he sat in my car a while on a personal call. I know that because I was standing outside and he was still on it when he got out of my car. So I assume he was too busy talking on the phone to pay attention to what he was doing while supposedly completing the multi-point inspection. And it's probably also why it took three hours to complete my service. All of this is in addition to not being able to use the service contract that I paid extra for when I bought the car. After telling me over and over that I didn't have one, the service adviser finally found it but kept telling that he had to wait for approval. I was so ready to get out of there I went ahead and paid for the service. I should have known better than to buy another car from AutoNation Hyundai. I've always had trouble with them.

Shop elsewhere

There's a reason they ask you multiple times to leave a review before you even leave the dealership. I purchased a truck with an extended warranty on May 5, 2023. The salesperson was great! The rest of the experience has left quite a bit to be desired, starting with financing. I was quoted an outrageous APR; when I inquired as to why the rate was so high, I was informed it was due to my credit score. Interesting...I have excellent credit, and I was already pre-approved through multiple other lenders at half the APR I was quoted at the dealership. The finance rep informed me I couldn't use my lender of choice, as they wouldn't approve the loan. After I insisted they send everything to my lender, the loan was approved.

Fast forward four months. I contacted the extended warranty company to request the remaining coverage be cancelled and a prorated refund. I was told I had to contact the dealership directly. After finally getting someone to call me back after multiple attempts, they requested I email documentation necessary to cancel the warranty. My first email was sent 9/22. I followed up on 9/26. No reply. I followed up again on 9/29. No reply. I escalated the request to the general manager. I followed up on 10/10. No reply. Again on 10/19. No reply. I called on 10/19 and spoke with the GM, and was informed the process takes six to eight weeks. I followed up on 11/27, nine weeks after my initial request. No reply.

On 11/30, I called the dealership and requested to speak with the GM. After waiting on hold for ten minutes, I was informed the GM was in a meeting. I requested he return my call. He didn't.

On 12/1, after eight emails and a multitude of phone calls, I have yet to hear anything from AutoNation or any of its employees regarding the status of my request. I have also not received a prorated refund.

Unless you enjoy being strung along and outright ignored for months, including by management, you'll likely want to shop elsewhere.

Stay away from Mercedes Benz of Miami

Bought a CPO from the MB dealership in Miami. The car always had something, and it finally broke down completely after 2 years. They were never responsive, always 'not covered by the CPO warranty' when small things came up, including what turned to be a factory defect (fuel lines) - Never again autonation or MB.

Horrible selling experience

Horrible selling experience! They took my car away immediately, the manager was not there even though I spoke with him ten minutes earlier, they had me sign paperwork in about fifteen minutes but they made me wait two hours for the check which was less than the agreed upon price, I refused the check and asked for my car back and they said it was being detailed, I threatened to call the police so they finally gave me the proper amount. Classic con men!
