Review for Barnes Noble Publishing Company (not Barnes & Noble, although the logo at the top is B&N with Publishing House underneath.)
This company ruined my debut novel launch. Six months of editing errors went in circles — mistakes fixed once would reappear again. I was promised distribution to 40+ platforms, but aside from Amazon, my book only hit IngramSpark, which was later marked inactive because the cover was formatted wrong and still hasn’t been fixed.
The print edition went live with glaring mistakes (misaligned cover, placeholder text, unreadable synopsis) and I never got a proof copy before launch. My website was listed as [website domain here] The eBook was uploaded in the wrong format twice, making it unreadable on release day. I had to hire a freelancer to fix in 24 hours what Barnes failed to do in six months.
Marketing was sloppy — I was promised 8 weeks of posts but got 4 dumped on launch day, one even spelling “Author” as “Athuor.” The website was worse: nothing was right. All social links went to my personal Facebook, exposing private photos of my minor daughter and granddaughter, and I wasn’t given admin access until after launch. I had to pay a freelancer to completely redo the site and social media.
The trailer was a disaster. Blogs, A+ content, and promised marketing were late, poor, or never delivered. In the end, I had to pay freelancers to redo almost everything I’d already paid Barnes for. So much more to elaborate on by I only get 1000 words. Avoid this company.
