Zero would be too many stars

Zero would be too many stars. Ordered a bear for my husband's first grandchild along with a stuffed heart, totaling $82. They claim to donate one and claim they are organic. She lives in Hawaii and we live in Massachusetts, so it was supposed to be a nice welcome until we get there. She never got the bear. I sent several emails, no response. I got an email asking how I was enjoying my purchase?!?! That prompted me to call. No answer, shocker. So, I sent a facebook message. They responded and said it was delivered and to contact Fedex. Then they blocked me on social media. Complete joke, but it looks like the other people on here had it WAY worse.

Update Feb 2026

Update Feb 2026: I had to threaten legal action for theft, fraud and sexual harassment against Bears for Humanity founder Vijay Prathap to finally send me the remaining 470 Miku fox plush toys I designed and ordered for manufacturing. He initially said he was no longer going to communicate with me until I repeatedly threatened legal action for not receiving my order, then finally sent what I paid for and ordered 7 months past the due date. I am disgusted by Vijay’s criminal activity, cowardice and greed. He once called a Zoom meeting to tell me he was divorced and asked me to sell my plush fox Miku through Bears for Humanity, which I declined, feeling uncomfortable. Later in an email he refused to send the toys until he ‘was laid,’ which I was appalled by. He responded it was my responsibility to interpret his typos. I interpreted it as sexual harassment. If you’re seeking manufacturing services from Bears for Humanity or considering purchasing a toy, I would avoid. I’m disturbed this person sells toys to children.

Scam - Do not Trust

We're a small business, we signed a contract with Bears for Humanity for design and delivery of 500 custom bears. The contract specified 90-120 days for product delivery. 50% of the order was paid upfront along with design and safety costs. However, even after 220 days, no bears were delivered - not a single doll, not a pre-production model, anything. Vijay simply stopped responding. Thousands of dollars down the drain, nothing to show for it. Broken contract. Do not trust this business.

Scam business

I'm an individual starting a small business for stuffed animals. I designed a plush fox for manufacturing and ordered 500 pieces from Vijay Prathap, the founder of Bears for Humanity, a non-profit that offers custom plush manufacturing services as marketed on the site bears4humanity.com or bearsforhumanity.com. We signed a design, marketing and manufacturing agreement on 3/14/25. He estimated I'd receive the product by June/July. I paid $7900 total in manufacturing costs to Vijay on 3/17/25 ($3250) and 7/25/25 ($4650). He gave me an incorrect tracking number for a shipment that appeared to be sent to his place in Texas and wouldn't give clarity on why he sent it or give a correct tracking number. I was partially refunded $145.51 for a $150 DHL air box that never came. He stopped responding when I asked for a tracking number and an order update which he said would be delivered by 9/5/25 and wasn't. He has not responded to my messages requesting a tracking number and then later a full refund.

Scammer business

Scammer business. Ordered a 14 inch plush toy and never received it. They simply ghosted and ignored me while I was trying to contact them any way possible.

Don't buy from them, you'll never get your bear.

Don't buy from them. I preordered a bear April 4th for my toddler, on their site it STILL says the bear would start shipping out April 20th. It's July and I still haven't received it. I've tried reaching out to them through email multiple times, through phone, through their online contact sheet, even through Facebook. I've tried everything to get in touch with them. They never replied. I'm out nearly $60, don't buy from them, they're a scam.

Terrible Experience

Absolutely terrible experience with them. They ship defective products, tell you they're shipping a replacement and then never do.

Their CEO, Vijay Prathap was no help getting this resolved either.

Horrible customer service / extremely poor quality toys

Customer service is atrocious and the quality of the toys is so poor.
If the toys go on sale the day after you order, well before they are shipped - they will refuse to price match (a common practice) and will ignore emails and requests to cancel the order until after they ship and there's nothing you can do. Then just basically say sorry not sorry. They are also profitting on their shipping fees. It cost me the same to ship a few tiny animal pals that could fit in a shoe box (or just a shipping bag as not fragile) and weigh nothing, as it did to ship a cot mattress and a change table pad from Naturpedic. Customer service reply instantly to questions about sales and how to order overseas, literally within 5 minutes. But when there's an issue or you want to cancel an order, they jjust ghost you.
These toys have about a quarter of the stuffing of other (even cheaper for me in Australia) organic toys (Apple Park) and look and feel cheap. And the seams around the neck and arms come apart after 2 months of minimal gentle play. Ordering these instead of sticking to the other high quality brands of organic stuffies we normally get, is my biggest regret. Stick with Apple Park, Senger and Sigikid.

Horrible customer service and over a month to ship

Ordered bears over a month ago to a hotel my husband was going to stay at during a US business trip. Website stated that orders are processed within 1-2 hrs and USPS shipping option was going to take 2-3 days. No beats for nearly a month. I called customer service several times but nobody picking up. I emailed as well nearly a month later and said the bears didn’t come so can I have a refund. No response. Then a week after that email I get a message the bears were shipped. I immediately emailed customer service and said that I had already asked for a refund and don’t have a way of getting the bears. They were unbelievably rude during the exchange and refused to issue a refund. They kept saying I need to return the bears and completely ignored the fact it was over a month from order to shipping, that this was very different than their shipping policy, and that I had no way of getting the package. Extremely disappointing - I’m disputing the charge with the credit card company and won’t be going back to them. DO NOT order from this scamming place!!

Poor quality and unsafe toys for babies.

Recently ordered 3 of their Sherpa teddy bears. Recieved them yesterday and was horribly disappointed by the quality and safety of their products. The bears did not resemble the ones on their website and have squished up faces. The seams are also
very prominent on the faces making them appear very ugly.

The material constantly sheds which means it is not safe to give to babies despite them saying it is safe. There is also loose threads on 2 of the bears.

I've had no reply from their customer service team and my partner had also tried to contact them via face book messenger. They stopped replaying after they realised it was a complaint.

We are from the UK so paid a lot of money for these bears to be shipped over to us.

I have no idea what to do with these bears now as they are too ugly and cheap looking to give away. Obviously I can't give them to my baby due to the shedding issue. I am so disappointed as I was really looking forward to receiving these bears and giving something safe for my baby to snuggle to.
