DO NOT BUY ANYTHING “SMART” FROM BRITISH GENERAL (BG home)

It’s the dumbest technology known to man.

As much as I admit that any tech can play up. The app has literally no repair itself. Or useable diagnostic. Or refresh. Or “turn it off and on again” system.

You email tech support. Who basically admit the only option if you have a fault. Is to delete EVERYTHING. And start again.

This is HOURS OF PAIN AND SUFFERING AND WASTED LIFE YOU WILL NEVER EVER GET BACK

WHILE ITS WORKING it’s not great either.

I ask Alexa and it says “no such device exists” I swap to Siri. “No such devices installed”

Day after day after day. Then without any reason what so ever just goes haywire. Flashing lights,, doesn’t work. At least 8-10 times a year. A full install.
So that’s nearly 1 full re install a month.

Waste of money. Con artists company. Refuses to help. Refused to put right. Refused to replace.
Even when the consumer rights act pointed out to them . Refused to follow that too.

HORRIBLE NASTY COMPANY.

Wasted hours on this rubbish and still doesn't work , will be taking it down and dumping it .Do not buy this product it is junk !

Unreliable, shows as disconnected from wifi, while two other devices within one metre of the socket stay reliably connected. Help just says check your wifi, check power…. I have! All good except the BG socket. I will never buy another.

Claims Alexa compatability. Nonsense, Alexa does not " recognise " this brand. FIrm does not respond to queries. AVOID. ONLY COMPATABLE with Google
