Her advice and support really helped me improve my answers and go into the interview feeling prepared. I’m delighted to have passed, and I honestly don’t think I could have done it without her guidance. I am very happy with the service I received with BlueLight Consultancy. Originally failed my interview last year and joined after starting another application. Found a lot of their online material useful for finding out what is expected of a successful candidate. The online webinars and 1-1's are then a great place to test out what you've learnt, practise some questions and to get some feedback on them. Much thanks to Catherine Pritchard who was my coach and helped me continuously throughout my application.

Fortunately had a great experience through the webinars with Raj, Darren et al. for the phase leading up to OAC. Experience for Final Interview, wasn’t as positive. I found my coach to be quite contradictory in their approach, condescending, often double booked meetings, would take a considerable amount of time to respond to communications and appeared to forget things quite easily. I potentially put this down to working with too many clients. After being told by said coach that they had the questions my force was asking (which was the BIG selling point at the very beginning), and practicing 7 repeatedly and in detail, the 4 I faced at interview were completely and utterly different. I found the structure in order to answer those questions a benefit, as I was able to generate a successful response at the time, however, to have spent as long as I did, at the cost that it was practicing for questions that never materialised, the Final Interview process, for me, I didn’t feel was value for money. Which summed up the two line email I received from my coach when I informed her of my success at interview, followed by a fishing trip to find out what the questions were. Given honesty and integrity is part of the Code of Ethics, I wasn’t prepared to divulge, nor do I feel should I have been asked. 8months later, I’m still awaiting my 1-2-1 congratulatory call from Brendan, which sadly lends to it appearing to be all about the cash and the data, as that seemed to be the biggest aspect my coach harped on about, her 100% pass rate, and that she wouldn’t be happy with anyone that brought her data down. It’s not about you coach, it’s about the paying (and it’s not cheap) customer. Knocked the gloss of the whole experience and achievement. OAC guidance a definite, final interview, coach and question reliability dependent.

I joined the Blue Light “Lite” package with just under two weeks to prepare for my interview. After a 1-to-1 session with Brendan, plenty of homework, and a brilliant webinar hosted by Catherine, I’m delighted to say I passed my final interview with Surrey Police!

To anyone reading this who may be considering joining Blue Light, do it!

I've just passed my Inspectors using blue light to help me navigate forward facing assessment for the first time. Massive thanks to my coach Raj Kohli for his tailored support and guidance over the past few months. Equally, Simon Walls for his in depth coaching around managerial scenarios. I can't fault the volume of workshops and resources that were made available to me! Highly recommended!

I can’t say a bad word about Blue Light from start to finish. I did both the OAC and final interview academies and felt so prepared and ready to pass at both stages.

My coach Richard was brilliant and I can’t recommend him highly enough. I worked with him throughout both my OAC and final interview preparation. He was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, and was always available to help or answer questions. We had many one-to-one calls and went back and forth refining my answers until I was completely happy with them. His feedback was always really specific and helped me understand how to make my answers stronger while still keeping them personal to me and my own experiences.

The input from the other coaches and students during the group webinars really rounded off my preparation too and gave me different perspectives and things to think about.

I comfortably passed both my OAC and final interview first time with Blue Light. I’m extremely grateful for all of Richard’s help and would definitely recommend both him and Blue Light to anyone going through the police application process.

I joined Bluelight Constabulary after passing my National Sift because I wasn’t sure what to expect next and knew very little about the Online Assessment Centre (OAC). After watching Branden’s videos on YouTube, I decided to join, and it was one of the best decisions I made.

I was allocated Darren as my coach, and from our very first meeting he was incredibly supportive, approachable, and knowledgeable. He took the time to explain every stage of the process clearly and was always willing to help, even in his own personal time. His commitment and dedication gave me confidence from the start.

Throughout the programme, I attended the webinars with other candidates and coaches. These sessions felt like the real assessment rather than just practice. Listening to different people answer the questions helped me develop my own responses by learning from a variety of perspectives.

After the webinars, Darren regularly arranged one-to-one video call sessions with me to practise. He also shared his personal contact details, including his phone number, and encouraged me to contact him whenever I needed support, regardless of the time. He was always quick to respond and never made me feel like I was asking too many questions.

Darren provided me with a clear roadmap for the OAC, covering the Competency and Values Framework (CVF), the Code of Ethics, and all the relevant College of Policing guidance. Everything we worked on was based on official College of Policing materials, which gave me confidence that I was preparing in the right way rather than relying on assumptions or guesswork.

The biggest strengths of Darren and Bluelight Constabulary were their experience, professionalism, and availability. Darren’s guidance, backed by years of policing experience, made me trust the process completely. Whenever I needed advice or reassurance, I always received a prompt and helpful response.

Thanks to Darren’s coaching, I passed my OAC and now have my final interview. I genuinely believe his support played a significant role in helping me reach this stage. I would highly recommend Darren and Bluelight Constabulary to anyone preparing for the police recruitment process.

The coaches are very knowledgeable about the different police forces, what to expect from the assessment process and how to structure your answers. They are also very welcoming and patient, and their website has a ton of useful information. I find it very hard to imagine myself passing without the help of this course!

Supportive one on ones with my tutor, Catherine.
Sessions were mainly led by me - what I wanted to focus on for that session rather than set schedules which were really helpful.
The one to one meetings were recorded so I could watch them back and review the answers I gave and re-listen to feedback from Catherine.
Catherine was honest, supportive and encouraging throughout the whole process.
The weekly zoom sessions which you could watch at any time on all 3 aspects of the OAC were incredibly helpful. Due to work schedules attending the zoom calls was tricky, having the ability to listen to the recording was a big contribution to passing the OAC.
The online materials were great, not just for the OAC but the additional videos on life in the police.

I had personal issues leading up to my Assesment Centre which left me with only a week to prepare. Brendan was my coach and he was a great help, and helped fit in our coaching sessions to fit my schedule, which was much appreciated. The advice I received from Brendan, was very helpful and I don’t think i’d be celebrating an offer without him and the rest of the team! All the online videos/ resources were very helpful too, and Brendan even created a specific mock exercise that was relevant to my role. Overall great experience and I would really recommend, thanks again team!

I couldn't be happier with the support and wisdom given to me from my coach Catherine who helped me to pass my Final interview. She was incredibly supportive throughout the process and I couldn't recommend the team enough for anyone needing that little extra guidance. Yes it is a financial investment but it is worth it for that extra support and improved confidence.
