Quick communication in the end some issues with pricing but overall ok may use again

I had a very disappointing experience with Boost Gadgets when trading in my iPhone 17 Pro Max 512GB.

I was originally quoted £887 through Compare and Recycle, and my phone was in very good condition, fully functional and had been kept in a protective case with a screen protector from the day I purchased it.

After receiving the phone, Boost reduced the offer significantly, initially offering just £450. Their explanation and valuation changed throughout the process, with different reasons given relating to cosmetic marks, battery health, the phone being activated, and the absence of the original box and charger. I had not been told beforehand that the original packaging and accessories were required.

I was particularly disappointed that I had to repeatedly challenge the valuation and ask for explanations. I also found it frustrating that the offers being made were below the prices advertised on Boost's own website for the same phone in Good condition.

Eventually, after involving Compare and Recycle and raising a formal complaint, the offer was increased. What should have been a straightforward trade-in turned into a lengthy and stressful process involving multiple emails, chasing responses and trying to establish how the valuation had been calculated.

My issue wasn't simply that the initial valuation changed following an inspection; it was the lack of clarity and the amount of effort required to get the matter addressed.

Based on my experience, I would be hesitant to use Boost Gadgets again. I hope they improve their communication and make their valuation criteria clearer to customers before they send their devices in.

I sold a device to Boost Gadgets at the price quoted when I placed my order. After they received it, they said they would revalue it at a lower price and offered less several times, with the stated reason changing along the way. The terms they eventually pointed to were never linked in any of their emails.

I put forward a simple solution to remove the concern they raised, but it took several days and a lot of follow-up before they would engage with it. In the end they agreed to pay the full quoted amount, and the money arrived weeks after I posted the device.

Their emails were polite, and I’m glad it was resolved in full. But if you sell to them, read their terms before you post anything, don’t assume the quote is final, and keep every email.

The phone I sent them was in perfect condition which they acknowledge. They originally offered me £830 then it went to £500 then £550 and after a few days of negotiations I settled at £670 I won’t be using this company again. For reference I sold my IPhone 17 pro 1tb

They offered me £5 to write a review which I don’t want the money as it’s not a good review or a good place to do business with

Horrible experience, they will give you a price on-line than when they receive the phone they will just stall as much as possible even if they do advertise same day payment. After numerous emails and Whatsapp messages they will than try to find all sorts of reasons to lower the price, again basically stalling and trying to get you to accept a much lower offer.
Eventually when we got to a number £46 lower than initial offer, although my phone was mint and nothing wrong with it, but my nerves were stretched to maximum, I just said OK pay me.
Of course it wasn’t same day payment as advertised, they had to take another day to finally pay me.
So all in one, don’t use as they’ll try to lowball offer you and stall to make you accept whatever they want to pay.

Very disappointing experience.

After sending them my 6-month-old iPhone 17 Pro in excellent condition, they started finding various excuses and faults to reduce the original offer of £670.

First, they claimed the phone was still on contract, which was not true. I had purchased the phone on a 12-month interest-free plan and had already paid it off early and in full. I even provided the invoice and proof of the final payment.

After that, they claimed the phone had a technical issue and reduced their offer to just £500. After going back and forth, I eventually accepted £550, although I was not happy with the outcome.

My advice is to be very cautious about the advertised starting price. In my experience, once they received the phone, they found reasons to significantly reduce the valuation.

I certainly wouldn’t rely on the initial advertised offer when deciding whether to send your phone to them.
