I never imagined I would be writing a review like this.

Frankie, our happy and healthy 2-year-old Dachshund, was admitted to Buchanan Veterinary Group for what should have been a routine spay operation.

During the surgery, Frankie suffered a ureter injury. She required emergency referral to specialist hospitals, underwent further major surgery and intensive treatment, but despite every effort to save her, she sadly had to be euthanised.

Our family has been left completely heartbroken. The emotional impact has been devastating, particularly for my daughter. who fought tirelessly for Frankie every step of the way.

Whilst the practice has responded to our complaint and acknowledged that Frankie suffered a ureter injury during surgery, we remain deeply dissatisfied with the explanations provided and continue to have serious concerns about the care Frankie received and the events that led to her death.

Our complaint remains ongoing, and we are pursuing the appropriate channels to seek answers and accountability.

Several phone calls only to be cut off !!!! Sick of pressing 2 and then Thank you for calling then pull the plug aghhhhhh

Wonderful Vetinary practice . All staff are helpful and friendly and compassionate . Visited the nurse ( I think name Megan ) with my cat Coco the other day for a de matte . I was really worried about this as my cat is sensitive and can be quite spicy at times . Honestly I was so impressed at how capable the nurse was with him . She managed to hold him and de matte underneath all by herself even though he was growling / caterwauling she stayed calm and determined to get the job done with no fuss . The other nurses that came in to help with the matter near his backside were great too . The job was done calmly and quickly . Megan was just brilliant with so much skill and experience and I honestly could not even go near my cat when he is like that . Just brilliant . As always I will continue to use this practice as my mother did before me when we had pets as kids . Always competent and friendly with a huge amount of understanding and patience with owners .

Asked for pain relief for my dog that he had been prescribed in the past for palliative care but was denied without appointment. Not going to put our dog through trauma of vet visit. Disgusted. Do not use this vet.

Extremely overpriced, they charge x 3/4 times what other vets close by charge, avoid at all costs
