Caktus AI charged $9.99 (monthly amount) to my credit card, despite the fact that I cancelled my subscription two years ago and haven’t used the service since. When I contacted "customer service" I was basically told it was from an unpaid or failed payment, which I was never notified about. After further investigation, I had the same issue two years ago and had to email them about it.

Don't give this company any money.

Caktus AI just charged me FOUR times out of nowhere, despite the fact that I canceled my account over a year ago. I’ve never heard of a platform that randomly charges past due payments long after cancellation – what kind of billing system operates like this??

To their credit, customer service responded quickly (the only part of the platform that seems to function properly), but their explanation made zero sense. If a charge didn’t go through a year ago, why would you process it now without any heads-up or confirmation? And how is that even legal?

This entire experience feels deceptive and unprofessional. If you're thinking of using Caktus AI, think twice – and if you do sign up, watch your credit card statements like a hawk. Total disappointment

Canceled the service in September of 2024 and then they charged me 6x in July of 2025. Absolutely the worst support and would not recommend.

I cancelled my subscription over 2 years ago and have had no interaction with this company until today when I was charged for a months membership out of the blue. It seems they are doing this for all their customers who have cards on file with them. In short, THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY

Charged me 6x for over $100 over a year after cancelling subscription. Entirely useless application nowadays and a shady leadership team that actively ducks accountability. Stay as far away as you can from these scammers.

Terrible billing and no refunds
Despite cancelling my subscription in mid‑2023, Caktus AI aggressively auto‑renewed my plan today (July 24, 2025) not once but three times at USD10.85 each. According to their Terms, “Auto‑renewal is enabled for all Services you have subscribed for, you will be charged automatically in accordance with the term you selected” — yet they never alerted me, nor did I receive any invoice or reminder from Caktus AI.

Their stated refund policy is brutal: “Since the Service offers non‑tangible, irrevocable goods we do not provide refunds after the product is purchased” . In other words, even though I was charged in error for a cancelled plan, they refuse to refund.

Impossible to cancel
I’ve tried every link on the website, emailed, and even used multiple browsers — there is simply no way to turn off auto‑renewal from my account page. The lack of any “Cancel Subscription” button or responsive customer support means you’re effectively trapped unless you cancel your credit card.

Bottom line
Caktus AI may offer helpful study tools, but their billing practices are predatory and their customer service nonexistent. I’m now forced to cancel my card to stop these phantom charges. Buyer beware — unless you enjoy fighting off unwanted auto‑renewals with no hope of refund, steer clear of Caktus AI.

Today, Caktus AI charged $9.99 (monthly amount) to my credit card, despite the fact that I cancelled my subscription last year and haven’t used the service since. For the past nine months, there were no charges and no activity on my account. I haven’t visited the website or reactivated anything, so this unexpected charge came completely out of nowhere. I’ve now blocked my card. I also contacted my bank and requested that all future transactions from Caktus AI be blocked.

After looking through further reviews, I found that many others have reported similar issues, suggesting they are trying this scam with every user. I’m very disappointed by this experience. If you're considering subscribing, DON'T.

They charge and charge even when you cancel!!!! Scam. They need to be sued. No customer service number

SCAMMERS!! Do not trust this website at all. They make it impossible to cancel your subscription on purpose. Plus, the writing tools are not all functional and the refrences from research paper tool are suspicious. Don't waste your time on this.

used to work great then they did a the worst update lost all my files that have been working on and they didn't even alert anyone that they where going through an update that would delete user files. Before great now I don't even want to use it. I have had an account with them for over 2 year suck I have to let them go

I signed up for a free trial and canceled the subscription immediately and they charged my card multiple times repeatedly in one day, two years later. Stealing hundreds and hundreds of dollars from me. I asked for my money back and they said no.

I had used the free trial, then they decided to charge me several months after a year... Dishonest

i signed up for a free trial two years ago, couldnt cancel it so i blocked it on my bank, on the first of feb this year they charged me 10 times and since then they've charged me 13 times for $129.87. I didnt even remember this terrible website when i first saw it. They need to be reported or sued, this could a class action, I'd guess loads of people were taken advantage of by this predatory, fradulent and scamming behaviour.

As seen in other reviews I have cancled 2 years ago and recently got charged $40. They won’t refund it due to it being a stupid policy they have. What a joke of a company. Just use chatgpt and pay the extra money for plus if u want advanced options like caktus has
