Always helpful, and just a great company to work with

This was a wonderful experience working with Karen at Canada by Design. She was extremely helpful and really went out of her way when my clients had an issue and had to cancel at the last minute.
She was able to rebook and get many of the fees lowered so my clients could go at a later date. I look forward to working with them again in the future. I am a Travel Advisor and would strongly recommend them. They took care of my clients and also looked after my business also. My clients had an amazing time on their trip.

Everything promised was delivered.
The trip was fully tailored according to our requests. When the railway changed their timetable, We were advised well in advance and options provided.

I worked with Karen who was great, quick with quotes and confirmations and suggestions. This was a last minute independent trip mostly by rail.

I booked a party of two for a stay in Victoria and Vancouver. The accommodations were both centrally located. They enjoyed their private transfer to Butchart Gardens as well as their time in the gardens. The V2V water transport was canceled, so the clients were re-accommodated by taking the ferry w/all the transfers included. The passengers received a refund, but were disappointed in not being able to experience the V2V. Overall, their stays in both cities were enjoyable, and they were pleased with the other sights they saw in Victoria and Vancouver.

Great trip - good hotels - train was awesome as were the city tours.

Wonderful company that makes it easy to book tours, transfers and hotels for clients. Good value for great service.

The planning, accommodations and the people arranged by Canada by Design were all good. I have one very large problem, however and it will affect me forever!

We were taken to the “Warming” hut, a canvas tent, early this January during a cold snap. It was so cold we could only take short runs out to see the lights. We did our best to get warm inside the hut without success. (There was snow on the pile of logs in the tent for the fire that never melted!). After a hour and a half we asked the tour directors if we could please be taken back to the hotel because none of the three of us could get warm. We were told no one could take us back until the four hours were over! We complained and pleaded several times and no accommodations were to be made.

After returning home I experienced difficulty with my toes. After many tests at May Clinic, it was figured out that I got frostbite on this trip to see the Northern lights! We had paid for 4 nights to go see the lights, but after our first night of torture, we never went back. I have thought about asking for my money back, but haven’t done that.

Our trip through Western Canada was as breathtakingly beautiful as we had hoped and the whole experience progressed flawlessly. Our agent was Jasmine Wong and she understood what we wanted and had the expertise to arrange the whole two weeks to perfection. Our trip included a Via train trip, various sightseeing coaches, a flight to Whitehorse and then another to Vancouver, narrow-gauge railway trip to Skagway (utterly fantastic) and a rental car for our time in Whistler, and of course great accommodations throughout as well as side excursions. Our detailed itinerary included all the vouchers and tips and hints for our added enjoyment. We highly recommend their service.

We booked a trip in Eastern Canada by rail last fall. It was a wonderful, well-designed package, with minor adjustments to accommodate some special requests we had made.

We had many bumps in the trip booked by Canada by Design. First our hotel accommodations were not what we requested during the first leg of our trip. Then we also had problems with seating on the two legs of our train journey. This was after we had confirmed and reconfirmed our preferences and requests. We were told that they were able to meet all our requests. I would NOT use Canada by Design (Discover Holidays) again for travel arrangements.

Excellent trip. WE opted for a car trip since we have two active teens. Canada by Design was wonderful to work with! They adjusted one of their self-drive tours to include night SUP, sea Kayaking and bear/whale watching. It was a wonderful trip
