Why are Capita in charge of Civil Service pensions. I waited 2 and a half hours and my call still wasnt answered. It was for a simple password reset. I am sick of this company. Come on Civil Service, have a proper service for pensions.
Beyond useless
Capita have recently taken over the administration of my pensions scheme.
Takes ages to register with them and once you have gone round the houses to create an account there is no information on your account.
I had to give 1 star as 0 stars is not an option but I would give 0 stars if it was .

Civil Service Pension
Absolutely diabolical company. Expected to receive my Civil Service pension and lump sum from end of December.
I completed all the necessary forms in October to finalise everything for my retirement date in December.
Set up onto new portal in December only to be locked out 2 weeks later!
It’s impossible getting through to helpline and I have sent numerous emails but no replies received!
How are people expected to pay bills without any pension payments.

Capita Pensions provides an awful customer service. No real options to contact as running contacts centre at minimum cost with too few handlers. An online message system that ends with your reference not found. A registration system that ends in a failure asking you to call them. I am surprised service management have not stepped in as it’s so bad .
I've been locked out of my CSPS Account…
I've been locked out of my CSPS Account ... directed to 'contact' Capita ... first bit of advice is to Logon, which I can't do because my account is locked !! ... The website takes you round and round in circles, ultimately to a webpage that is still 'under construction' ... hasn't anybody thought to test all aspects of this appaling website !!! Meanwhile ringing the Contact number is heavily engaged ... what a surprise and my Account continues to be locked ... absolutely awful transition and service.
WHAT A SHAMBOLIC ORGANISATION
If i could minus star this Company they would be a minus 10!! - What an absolute shambolic organisation it is!! 5 hours my husband has spent waiting on the phone today to actually get to speak to someone about his Pension!! - his money that he has not yet received from them and has been waiting since the middle of December for it to be released. Absolutely disgusting!!!! The worst thing about all this is the tax payer is footing the bill for this utterly useless service that the government have outsourced for the public sector Pension scheme!!!
Pip assessment full of lies and DSA
Pip assessment full of lies, inaccurate information and misinformation saying I go out daily and do things I absolutely cannot do. 0 points for pip as everything was based on if I can cook a meal, physically, yes I can but I can’t do it safely or repetitively without burning things taking 5x longer than it should because I can’t prepare or organise. Say I don’t have SEN when I did, and a whole load of lies.
Applied for DSA for university and it’s been a complete mess, I sent all forms and SEN assessment from my consultant and they approved it as my adhd is quite severe and it’s been months since approval by SFE and these were meant to contact me after 3 days in November yet not received any more info despite multiple complaints and emails. They have no communication skills whatsoever and are impossible to get in contact with, it’s a nightmare. Like it’s my last year yet I’ve still not got DSA which has set me back and I’m failing despite being approved for dsa I’ve not had a needs assessment. Like they need to be more able to deal with disability and whatnot. I’m absolutely disgusted.

If I could rate zero I would. Working in a HR environment trying to support pension members and obtain info for them and myself in a Hr capacity is impossible. We still have no access to the employer portal and the website has none of the links that we need to signpost people and no one answers the phones oh and members can’t get through either . We have an helpline but no one to answer calls and the website is useless and this adds to my stress levels in trying to do my job!!!! How much money were these clowns paid for a crap service that is helpful to no one . Bring back MYCSP!
Civil Service Pension - Pathetic new administrator
I took early retirement this year with a view to claiming my pension in December 2025 and was depending on receiving my lump sum this month. Applied for my pension at the start of August (as per timetable stated). Received a quote in September (addressed to the wrong name and with the wrong final salary!). I was advised my MyCSP to go ahead on the basis of the wrong quote to have any chance of getting a pension payment in December. That was in October - and it's the last time I have heard from them.
I wrote to them in October and heard nothing back. I called them in November and was advised the Quotation Team were looking at my case but that they could not give me a timetable for my pension starting.
In December, I filled in Capita's new on-line form to ask what is happening (surprise, surprise the target time for a response has now passed with nothing back from them). Called them in December (like others, waiting in a call queue for over 2 hours) only to be told they have my completed forms and letter but that they are unable to provide a timeframe for paying my pension. On one call, I was promised that a manager would give me a call back the same day - of course that never happened either.
Capita have achieved the distinction of being even worse to deal with than MyCSP. At least their portal worked.
I have asked my MP to take up the case which he has but still no progress to report. Reading all the reviews on this site leaves me with a feeling of dread. How can Capita get away with treating pensioners like this? And what is the Cabinet Office doing about it?
I am absolutely sickened by this experience.

A total shambles of a company
A total shambles of a company. How they actually get the contracts to handle pensions is incredible. Been trying for 6 weeks now to get hold of someone. You will join a queue of 20 people, no matter what time you ring, then get cut off. Portal doesn't work and no-one answers any emails. Utterly useless
(CSPS) Zero rating!
(CSPS) If there was an option to give this awful, useless company a zero rating I would! My application to partially retire on 5th January 2026 was approved in August, pending them sending me a forecast, to let me know how many hours I can work before abatement, how much my earnings/pension would be in total etc, so that I could make an informed decision. To date, less than 3 weeks before this is due to take effect, I have had precisely nothing from them. The portal is now completely pointless, has no information at all. I have sent 3 emails, no response. Good luck trying to get through on the phone, set aside the whole day for this, and be prepared to be cut off, or have a recorded message pop up saying the building is being evacuated and to call back later! If you are lucky enough to speak to someone, you will not be any the wiser, and there is nobody you can talk to that is actually responsible for processing stuff. Having asked for details of their complaints procedure, I was advised to complain to my MP or Pensions Ombudsman, very helpful. So now I am going to have part time wages, no pension, when asked how long it might take for them to actually pay my pension, they didn't have any idea, but assured me it would be backdated, unfortunately bills still need to be paid on time, and this is going to put me into financial hardship. If I choose not to go ahead with it on that date, I will have to make a whole new application, wait another 5 months, and no guarantee they will send the forecast on time. I just feel totally helpless, and I am so angry!!!!!!!!
Capita/mycsp problems
Having registered on the new mycsp portal continually get informed username and password not recognised despite having confirmation that username is correct. Attempted to speak to an advisor today and after waiting in the queue for 2 hours she just disconnected my call without even making any effort to deal with my call. Absolutely disgusting service to get onto a portal after 3 weeks and service and customer service is diabolical

Two hours wait for call to be answered yesterday. Today I started out as No 14 in the queue at 08:01, called answered at 0931.

I am currently 2 hours waiting to speak to an agent regarding payment of my civil service pension that I have been waiting 6 months. Absolute disgusting our country and government have gone to pot.
Very poor start for Capita & CSPS
I've heard nothing about my application for my Civil Service Pension, so decided to call Capita. After moving very slowly up the queue of callers, & having reached single figures, a recorded message said "we are experiencing a high call volume & cannot take your call at the moment"!! At least the old CSP administrators eventually answered the phone. Not a good start with Capita.

Capita failed to pay my pension when they decided I was deceased: it seems I had not replied to the letters they hadn't sent. Little sense of urgency in correcting such a catastrophic error, so I reported the incident to the police as a theft. By coincidence a phone call the following day. However, no guarantee their maladministration will not occur yet again. So I send a monthly email life certificate to TPS to remind them I am still not dead and intend to continue to be so for the foreseeable future. Good luck Civil Servants...
Trying to log in to my Civil Service…
Trying to log in to my Civil Service pensions since these muppets took over recently. Going round and round in circles. As I type this review, I am number 78 in the queue to speak with them.
They deserve their nickname
Absolutely incompetent useless administrator of Civil Service Pensions. Fifteen minutes to set up an account and supposedly I don't know who I am and their records do not match my name or details. So am invited to ring on 0800 123 456 - which immediately informs me that the number is available to rent. Alternatively I can click the contact button - but that doesn't work unless I am logged in and i can't log in because the account is not set up.
Why is every Government (or private enterprise acting on behalf of) so utterly useless in the UK???
