Absaloute bunch of crooks said my car had faults with transmission and both headlight modules.
Do not sell to these or car planet. You'll just get scammed the bring up historical codes and then fleece you on the price

Ian is a legend, best sale experience I have ever had in my life, genuine and clean hearted individual with amazing experience and knowledge!

I used Car Daddy/Car Planet to sell my car. They were very pushy from the off - not giving you enough time to think! The only pleasant experience was with a gentleman named Ian who came to the house to view/value the car. Professional, courteous and took the time to explain the whole procedure. Once I eventually agreed to sell my car, it all went downhill. I was promised the money would be paid by 6pm that day - no payment came. After that, it was a nightmare trying to speak to someone from Purchasing - I was passed from pillar to post - I spoke to 7 different people - some of them hung up on me instead of transferring me. They just kept fobbing me off and when asked to speak to a manager - surprise surprise, there wasn't one available. I thought I had been scammed the way they kept hanging up on me. The money finally came through but very unprofessional outfit - especially the Purchasing Team. This company is your typical second hand car dealership where nobody will help when something goes wrong!!! Bunch of jokers. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

I sold my Audi Q7 today to car daddy’s , I had the wonderful Ian visit and checked my car before the company offered me my final deal .
Very transparent with the offer and was very happy with my final offer .
I would say as long as after checks the car u are selling is all ok , you would recieve an acceptable offer.
So a big thanks to both Ian and cardaddys for a great service.

As others have said, they’re standard scammers. Turn up and find alleged codes (despite our car being in Skoda garage for full health check a week prior). Then offer far less. When my husband asked to see this fault code it magically disappeared.

Their updated offer following their 'report' was £1200 under what their bid was, they finally upped their offer by £900 at which point we refused to dobusiness with them because I don't support such dishonest and unethical behaviour.

Thought I would give them the benefit of the doubt and allowed them to come out and inspect the car. And surprise surprise, they invented a gearbox noise that doesn't exist to try and knock the value down by £2.5k. Absolute time wasters, don't bother inviting them around.

There is no noise coming from the gearbox, completely made it up because the rest of the car was immaculate so they couldn't use anything else to get the price down.

Sorry guys, the shark tactics don't work on me.

AVOID! Total time wasters, absolutely not the straightforward and transparent process that they claim on their website.

Originally valued my car at £10,250 and then once I’d uploaded my images (which I made sure were clear and honest!) they called to provide a ‘revised valuation’ of around £10,050. I queried this with the sales advisor as it seemed high compared to other quotes I’d had. Turns out he hadn’t looked at the photo’s properly and the price he gave me was incorrect. I then spent 25-30 mins discussing the condition of the car, making it VERY clear that I did not want to waste any time negotiating if they try to haggle me down once they inspect it as I’m 9 months pregnant and I don’t need the stress. He then spoke to the ‘damage inspection’ team who advised him that the revised valuation was now £9383 which seemed more accurate compared to other valuations I’d seen.

I agreed (in hindsight, I shouldn’t have ignored the red flag!) and then arranged an inspection for today after being reassured by the sales associate that unless there was something wrong mechanically with the car (which there isn’t!!) that the price he’d given me would be the price.

WRONG! The assessor arrived today and he completed the assessment, which did take a while but I appreciate they need to be thorough. He sent off the assessment and then came back to me to advise a new “price” of £8k, disappointed and frustrated would be an understatement.

They completely disregarded the time I spent and the discussions I’d already had to give me an outrageous low ball figure. I flat out refused and asked why they’d taken a further almost £1,400 off the valuation. He said it was due to “further damage” and “engine codes”. I probed into this to find that the extra damage wasn’t actually extra damage (it was as per the photo’s) and the engine codes looked to be minor. Nothing of which seemed to justify the additional, huge reductions.

After going back and forth for a further 45minutes we eventually agreed on a price and they came up by almost £1000. It took me threatening to walk away multiple times for them to consider upping their offer. We eventually agreed on a final figure and the sale was finalised.

I will NEVER use this company again, the stress and headache this has caused me was not worth it. I wouldn’t even like to think about how much they scam others as not many people would be comfortable negotiating so hard.

We had Ian visit us to inspect and appraise. He explained and showed me each step of the process in detail. Fair assessment reached. A smooth experience and would definitely recommend!

Take a look at the affected cars cardaddy’s sells from the same registered address as car planet trading limited their sister company . Check out the poor reviews and support groups regarding their issues selling faulty cars at high prices and ignoring their customers. Clearly seeing these reviews you can see how they work to obtain cars cheap, the deny buyers consumer rights then you have to take them to court to get CCJs against them . .

I have just sold my car with car daddy’s the outcome was great they are very good the mechanic was great thank you Tariq for coming and buying my car .

Gave one star only because I couldn't give zero.
What a crap website, giving ridiculously low valuations.
I wouldn't want to sell through your website anyway.

I sold my car via Carwow. They advised me that the car was sold for £14k via an auction. You need to be aware that the price is all dependant on the final assessment that is carried out by the buyer/trader. The assessment reveals things you wouldn't be aware of as a general driver. I learnt a lot. The Assessor Siya Tila was very professional in the advice provided whilst carrying out his role for Carplanet. He gave me lots of useful advice & negotiated well to get me near enough to the price I was prepared to accept.
