I honestly can't recommend Gary and his team enough. I have used this company twice now for different jobs and it has honestly felt so reassuring to know there are trustworthy companies out there that are just genuinely nice people too! It was clear from the beginning that Gary was very experienced, knowledgeable and able to reassure me when I was worried about the work required. I was kept updated throughout the process and the lads were professional, punctual, respectful and tidy! Thank you all so much! Will absolutely be recommending to friends/family! Some of my neighbours have already been asking for details!

I can highly recommend Gary and his team! My elderly mothers house has had an ongoing issue with water ingress into the basement. I'd spoken to a number of other company's but Gary was the first to tell me the ingress could be stopped, the dry rot and mould could be treated and the basement tanked so it would be permanently dry. Gary was always polite and professional but very approachable, ever willing to answer my questions. The two guys (Kenny and Dave) who did the work were amazing! Obviously extremely knowledgeable and experienced but also friendly, polite and respectful of the house and our personal belongings.
Once work started they found dry rot had spread to the joists and floor boards of the room above but Gary reassured me it could be fixed and his team would do all the necessary remedial work.
Kenny and Dave worked so hard! All the mould and dry rot has been treated, the basement is tanked and dry, new joists, floor boards, walls replastered, skirting boards fitted, the radiators refitted and plumbing tested. Finally Gary arranged for an electrician to call (Jack) to wire new lights, the sump pump and ventilation fan in the basement. All the guys have tidied up after the work was done, vacuuming the newly laid floor and sweeping up inside and out. I'm extremely happy with the standard of the work and would have no hesitation in recommending Cheshire Damp Proofing.

We had been dealing with a long-standing damp problem and, after some disappointing experiences with other builders in the past, we were understandably cautious. From the very beginning, Gary completely put us at ease — his communication was clear, prompt, and reassuring.

They took the time to properly assess the issue and proposed a thorough, well-explained solution, supported by detailed photographs so we could clearly see what needed to be done. That level of transparency made a huge difference to us.

Colin carried out most of the work and was absolutely fantastic. He’s a true perfectionist who clearly takes pride in what he does, and he was always friendly, approachable, and happy to explain things along the way. The site was left spotless at the end of each day, which we really appreciated.

We’re genuinely delighted with the results — the quality of the work speaks for itself. It’s such a relief to finally find a team we can trust, and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them highly.

Really happy with the work from Cheshire Damp proofing. They were easy to deal with, turned up on time, and explained everything clearly before starting.

The job was done quickly with minimal mess, and they left the place clean afterwards. Since the damp proof course was installed, the basement already feels much drier and fresher.

A warning to any future customers thinking of employing this company. I contacted Gary, seeking his service, Gary advised he charges 300.00 for damp proof assessments, to cut a long story short, he sent his assessment through with a cost of over 11,000.00 to damp proof a 2 bed small terraced, it was my sons property so I forwarded the quote to my son as he works and I am retired, my son stated he could not afford the quote and did not want to go ahead with the quote nor the company due to affordanility issues. I informed Gary of this. Gary thereafter contacted my son demanding 1,000.00 in payment. I drafted a watsapp reminding Gary of our original discussion of 300.00 for his assessment of the work NOT 1,000.00, I requested his bank account to pay the 300.00 but Gary chose to leave a ranting messsge accusing myself and my son of wasting his time and I made him drive all the way from where he has his office to waste his time. As a customer I was sticking to the original agreement to pay 300.00 for his assessment but accepting the quote and the company, my son could not afford. Gary presented very aggressive towards me and I stated I would forewarn other customers of this experience I have had of this staff and company.

Gary & his team have been amazing. They came to my elderly parents in an emergency & have worked with us throughout, giving regular video updates & dealing with changes as we’ve gone along, due to unforeseen circumstances which meant there was more work to be done than originally planned.

He & the team went above & beyond to make sure they do a first class service & we’d certainly recommend them to anyone who wants to use any of their services.

I had several stop and starts with gaining access to the property that I wanted surveyed for damp. Despite the changes of plan, Gary remained positive and helpful the whole time before he was able to do carry out the work. I almost went with another firm which was not user friendly and I phoned Chshire Damp Proofing as an alternative and am glad that I did.

I chose Cheshire Damp Proofing because of the many excellent reviews already in place. Gary initially called to assess & provided a written quotation for the work upfront. Anthony & Lewis arrived on the day, on time as planned. As well as clearly being happy in their work, they were both polite, respectful & just cracked on with the job. The final invoice was to the penny. I did opt for a previous quote from another business and found Gary to be more competitive but with the added benefit of their specialist knowledge. Yes I would highly recommend Gary and his team to future customers!
