I would generally rate this Company with 5* but now this is not the case.
Went to book tickets on my mobile phone and when all details we filled in I was asked to Log In. There was no facility to do this as the link to click on was not available. I also ask the question. What is the reason for customers to Log In?
The website was changed (definitely not upgraded) in November '23. Please revert to the old system or get somebody who knows what the are doing to redesign it.
Charged 92 euro for two of my family members to travel one-way from Galway to Dublin Airport. Citylink will not refund the overcharge of 46 euro despite phone calls. No response to emails.
Have been using Citylink for years & never had a bother..on time..warm and all bus drivers I've had were wonderful & great customer service..
went on holiday 2 weeks ago. We were flying from dublin so booked city link for going up and down. Going up was no bother at all where as going down was a joke. We booked the bus for coming down at 6 pm or flight got in at 5 past 5. We got delayed waiting for our bags and going through security coming out of dublin airport but none the less we got out to where the bus was supposed to be at 5 to 6 and it was gone. We spoke to another bus driver who said it had just left. We had to pay 50 euro on top of that to get a different bus home. This is ridiculous carry on as you think the bus would leave at the time said.
The new Citylink online booking website is an absolute nightmare. It does not follow any logical steps.
Bring back your 'old' booking system and tell whoever designed your 'new' version to find a different job.
I would use Gobus but for the fact that their booking procedure directs me to your website again.
One star is the only option available otherwise I would be awarding you a -5.
Absolute joke of a company. The Galway bus is always late by at LEAST 20 minutes no matter what time of day. My son is always late to and from college due to their incompetence and they refuse to look into putting on an earlier bus service to actually get people to their destination on time. According to the app the driver is at a standstill in Milltownpass for 20 minutes every morning!! Wonder why they're always at least 20 minutes late so!! Also have reports of drivers hanging around outside the bus drinking coffee etc. in Kinnegad around 7.30am, where's the consideration for passengers and people waiting for the bus??
Also since the app update everything has gone haywire, how about testing it before you send it out and cause mayhem.
If we had another bus service, which unfortunately we don't, we certainly would not be using this one.
Customer service agents are abysmal and no help at all. Drivers are rude...the list is endless.
The Government want people to give up their cars and use public transport...yeah right...what public transport?? One bus service! Spend one day using Citylink and you'll never want to use it again.
Buses are not comfortable. Not made for long 3 hours journey. Also need a break to stretch legs. It not comfortable to sit in a cramped space for 3 hours plus. Bus it was not like this before. City link kas very nice comfortable Buses back in 2018 when I Fist time use it. But it disappointing not. There is no other competitors no option I have to use it. But I don't like to use it at all.
Travelled today on the new route 721 from Dublin airport to Castlebar. It was the 2.30pm coach which left on time and arrived a couple of minutes after the due time(6.30pm). The driver was very friendly and helpful, definitely will be using this service again 😄
Half these reviews are pointless as Ireland is cold and people are loud. The majority of people in this country hate bus services as they lie about their arrival/departure times. They should be more honest about what time you’ll arrive rather than saying it’ll be earlier than it was. Arriving at 2:30 when it says 1:45 and making us pay 70€
For a taxi now that we missed a train because of the incompetence to just say it would be a 2:30 arrival is still bewildering to me. Why do bus services in Ireland lie
My daughter left her glasses on the bus.. Citylink was extremely professional and was able to find them and she collected them in the office the following day. Great service from Linda and the girl in the office. Well done,
Smooth ride, on time, but why did we need to listen to the radio. the volume was so loud my headphones couldn't mute the sound when I wanted to listen to my own music during the ride.
I travel several times on this route but this was my worst experience
The last two weeks that I've gotten on this bus from Galway to Dublin, the bus has been ice cold. They put the Aircon on way too low, everyone puts on their jackets and is visible trying to shut it off over head but it doesn't work. Beyond uncomfortably cold to sit in for 3 hours.
A great service to clifden and even to lettrrfrack. Our bus driver cork service Murt was fabulous today instructed us clearly and was super friendly. He helped people with suitcases, made us laugh and made sure I was first off the bus to get my connection. Thank you
I travelled too and from Galway to Dublin Airport Terminal 1 direct. Brilliant service and no negative issues. Bus was on time, working toilet if required. I also travelled from Cork to Galway this week. Again the bus was in time and no negative issues. I will be using Citylink again in future.
I got the 13.30 city link bus today 4th August 2023 from Dublin Airport to Moate County Westmeath. Our driver was called Hugh Gallagher, I just want to say what a pleasant, helpful, courteous gentleman he is, he was so helpful and chatty to any person who got on the bus. He went out of his way to help everyone and if there were a lot more Hugh Gallaghers around the world would be a better place. Kind Regards Bernie Ryan.
Busses constantly late or booked out
Loughrea to galway bus delayed by a minimum 30 minutes
No return from galway to loughrea after 6pm
No power supply on bus
Toilets always a state
Make it almost impossible to travel around ireland
Cork to Limerick, driver says that the toilet is not working. How the hell can you send a intercity bus, full of people, without a functional toilet?
Extremely rude bus driver. I did not prebook a seat which understandably can cause issues however the way he dealt with it was awful. He could have been polite about it instead he cursed at me and backed me off the bus.
I noticed then as I was on the bus he was rude to other passengers also.
This was the 11:30am bus from Dublin Airport to Galway.
The dirtiest bus I have ever been on. The build of of scum and dirt is horrendous! When do these buses get cleaned??
