If i could give 0 stars i would very easily !!!!!! Absolutely terrible company !!! They will not give you a refund if your not interested in attending and if you don't go your charged even more . So your basically forcing . They make it damn near impossible to get ahold of them to dispute anything and when you do it's through emails , so you have to argue over emails over YOUR MONEY which shouldn't even be up for discussion. They keep saying it's part of our policy and that it helps pay for venues . You are a customer service company that isn't for your customers and pretty much saying you have to go and hopefully you'll enjoy enjoy or dont go and we charge you more money. It's just a horrible way to run a customer service business. Which I see why they have terrible reviews and are so pressed to keep your money which isn't theirs to begin with. It's not right or fair to do this to anyone . You don't know people's circumstances or what they are going through . I truly hope they get a class action lawsuit against them for this and end up going under . How can you expect anyone to want to come back to you after you say you cant have YOUR MONEY back ? They said this is normal for businesses to run like this and event companies . Which is dont know of any company that doesn't offer a refund or at the worst charge a refund fee which is very rare . Something needs to be done about this immediately. They have no contact number which is ridiculous as well . I hope whoever reads this is able to to do something to them and get this fixed . Whoever arianne and Chris are from city swoon you both have no understanding of life and business ethics because you have completely and utterly have no regard for the next person and the fact that you said I'm not being forced when your policy says it's either go or be charged extra . Thats being forced and your stealing because I asked for my money more than 7 days in advance as stated in my emails and you won't give it back to me and are putting me in a situation where I pretty much have to go or try and give it to a friend which no acquaintance I know whould even attend something like this. They also use false advertisement which was confirmed when I actually went to an event and talked with the women there .

Our events require significant planning, venue commitments and careful balancing of attendee numbers. For this reason, our booking terms differ from many retail purchases. Tickets are generally non-refundable, and our cancellation and no-show policies exist to help maintain balanced events and provide the best possible experience for everyone attending. These terms are displayed during the booking process.
We understand that unexpected circumstances can arise, and we appreciate that this policy won't suit every situation. That's why customers who notify us at least seven days before their event are eligible to transfer their ticket to another event as a credit under our booking policy.
Regarding customer support, we provide assistance via email so we have a clear written record and can investigate each enquiry thoroughly and consistently. We're sorry you felt your concerns weren't handled in the way you had hoped.
Finally, we do not accept the suggestion that we use false advertising. We work hard to accurately describe our events and continually refine both our events and customer experience based on attendee feedback.
While we appreciate that we haven't reached agreement in your case, we do thank you for taking the time to share your views.

City Swoon Adelaide Do not bother! It’s dating apps in real life
First time going to one of these and never again. I was offended with my matches. They don’t vet the men. One of them was absolutely plastered an hour into it. The organisers knew this as she brought him over to me. A bit lack of duty of care. He was belligerent and rude. He was actually cut off at the bar.
I bought a ticket and one month membership and they took another $49 the month after. After I disputed it they showed me screenshots but when I tried to look for it I couldn’t. They refused a refund even though I won’t be going back so all I’m getting for it is matches of men that are not my type. They brag about a high success rate but that is totally inflated and basically lies

Providing a safe and respectful environment is extremely important to us. We do not tolerate intoxicated, aggressive or disrespectful behaviour at our events. If a guest is intoxicated or behaves inappropriately, we take action, including removing them from the event where necessary and permanently banning them from future CitySwoon events. We also investigate any reports we receive after an event so appropriate action can be taken.
While we can't guarantee who attendees will personally connect with, all participants are genuine singles attending to meet people in person, and our matching algorithm is designed to introduce guests to the most compatible people available at the event.
Regarding your booking, the ticket you selected included a monthly membership, which is displayed during checkout and renews automatically until cancelled. Our support team provided screenshots of the checkout information when responding to your enquiry, as we appreciate these details can sometimes be overlooked.
Finally, we take issue with the suggestion that our published results are inaccurate. Our success metrics are based on data collected from over a million real dates across our events and are continually measured from attendee outcomes.
We're genuinely sorry the event wasn't a positive experience for you and appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback.

I have attended 3x, and here are the reasons why i rated it 2 stars:
1, Hosts often being late, and we don't have enough time to have "a conversation" already.
2, They dont have enough people to pair up. On some turns, someone has to sit alone. They have been doing this for a long while, it should be more organized.
3, Participants don't know the details of who you will be "dating" until "very last minute", and often don't even have time to look at the profiles.
4, The website is not user-friendly.
I love the idea of meeting in person though.

Our hosts generally arrive before the advertised start time, and we've recently introduced a new self check-in process that allows guests to check themselves in on arrival, helping events begin more smoothly.
Attendance numbers can vary from event to event, particularly when there are last-minute cancellations or no-shows, but we work hard to keep our events as balanced as possible because we know that's important to everyone's experience.
Our events are deliberately designed to have a more relaxed, organic format rather than the traditional bell-and-whistle style of speed dating. Many guests tell us they enjoy the more natural atmosphere and conversations this creates.
We've also recently completed a major update to our website and member experience, with a range of improvements based on customer feedback, and we'll continue refining both our events and online experience.

While we do have a no-refund policy because our events require careful planning and balanced attendance, when an event has to be postponed or affected by circumstances outside our control, we always work to accommodate our ticket holders. In your case, a credit was offered so you could attend another CitySwoon event at a time that suited you.

These idiots don't even show up to host the events. It's mostly unattractive people that no one wants to date anyway. One of the 2 hosts didn't bother to show up so none of the phone tech could be used. The other host announced that "we are gonna do it old school". I walked out. Garbage company. They're denying giving me a full refund but I'll get it, believe me.

I used City Swoon 3 times be careful of penalties
I used City Swoon 3 times. The first two times were enjoyable. And reasonably priced. The second time was a little chaotic as there was an imbalance of numbers. I had to wait around after a few dates with little explanation before I asked why I had no date. It was explained to me I had a break due to uneven numbers. OK I thought. The third time was meant to be Tuesday 9th December 2025. After receiving text messages advertising a reduced ticket price due to more women booking than men!! I thought why not. Unfortunately due to unplanned emergency work I couldn't make it. I wasn't expecting a refund. But I did text to say I couldn't make it. I then received a no show fee of £10 for not attending!? I complained as I received no warning. My response from City Swoon was to tell me by email that is our policy. And basically it was because they needed balanced numbers. And it does mention the penalty when purchasing the ticket!! There was no empathy for my situation. And no understanding I am a returning customer with potential to tell my single friends about this alternative to speed dating! And also I might have booked many future events for far more than the £10 penalty because of policy!! So the numbers must balance when it suits!! I will never use City Swoon again!! Happy Christmas

I bought a ticket for a friend and he has to buy another ticket. They said it would be adjusted when we got there but this didn’t happen. I then was hoodwinked into a subscription. Dodged! I complained and they said- buyer be aware.
$88 for me to attend (bought a ticket for a friend)

It sounds like there were a couple of late no-shows on the night, which unfortunately left the numbers unbalanced. Rather than ending the event early, we paired a small number of attendees in a friendship round so everyone could continue socialising while the event concluded. We understand that wasn't what you were hoping for, and we appreciate that it was disappointing.
We work very hard to maintain balanced events, but last-minute no-shows can occasionally affect the experience despite our best efforts.

I would not use CitySwoon again. They are to expensive, charge a no show fee and I was not impressed with the set up, extremely poorly arranged and very negative vibe. The hosts acted as though they wanted to be somewhere else and had better things to do.

Cityswoon hides overcharging in the small print
Cityswoon has continued to charge me $49 per month after I signed up for one event last year. I have only just noticed the withdrawal on my account yesterday. I emailed them and they responded with a screenshot of some details regarding membership and the print is so small you can't read it. So, this is clearly their business model, hide the on-going extra fees in the small print. I have contacted my bank and they are raising a dispute with Ezi debit to recoup this sneaking over charging.
