DO NOT BUY FROM COCO REPUBLIC awful customer service

We’ve had a pretty poor experience with Coco Republic after purchasing the Jamesport 4 seat sofa in Zepel Aluminium with Walnut Legs. It was an extremely expensive couch ($10,595) and we had done a fair bit of shopping around and tested various couches. The customer service at Coco Republic was great initially - we had a sales representative show us all the different options and then materials. When we sat on the Jamesport demo couch we were glad that the cushions had foam infills and the cushions did not slide around or lose their shape. It was absolutely a case of deceptive and misleading advertising as the couch we were given has feather back cushions. This would contribute to the high price. These feather cushions lose their shape immediately and no matter how much we try to reshape them by beating them and fluffing them - we absolutely cannot get them to look good. It makes the whole couch rather uncomfortable. See photos attached.
After complaining to Coco Republic whose cites that they have ‘warranties which apply in addition to Australian Consumer Law’, we have been severely disappointed by their customer service. They have not offered us anything under a warranty or ever replacement cushions and have instead sent us videos demonstrating how to fluff the cushions. I am not exaggerating when I say that you would have to spend 10 mins beating these cushions into shape every single time you use the couch for it to look good. Even when it is not in use, the cushions sag over time. Therefore, we do not recommend anyone purchasing this specific couch or from this brand if you would like to have decent customer service when purchasing a luxury item.

Ordered an umbrella end of November on…

Ordered an umbrella end of November on sale. Website said delivery on the 11th December. Chased up delivery for weeks with no reply to emails or calls. Today I finally got confirmation that it wouldn't be delivered until the 2nd of January. Never buying here again. For the price their service and logistics is third world.

Don't Bother

I'm in my third month of waiting for my online order, no indication it wasn't in stock, told it would be delivered in two weeks (about three times at different stages, that's obviously just there "go-to" line). Constantly palmed off by customer service (if they bother to reply), on phone hold times of over an hour the other day, issue is now with Fair Trading. Believe all of the 1star reviews! Delivery and Customer Service issues are real and they're so out of touch with levels provided by competition. Big disappointment as I'd previously been a fan.

Do not buy from Coco Republic

Do not buy from this company. We ordered a marble coffee table and the very next day, we had to cancel the order because our builder said it was too heavy. Coco republic said that we were not entitled to a refund as it was too late - even though it was only 24 hours after we purchased (on a Sunday) . They said we had to put the whole amount on credit - even though we could have just paid a deposit at the time of purchasing.
We decided to order an outdoor dining setting which they said would take 10 weeks. That was 14 June and now they are saying that we won’t get it until December. - 6 MONTHS LATER!!!! Had we known it would take so long, we wouldn’t have ordered the table as we have needed it for 2 birthday parties etc.

I have been emailing but no one has responded to any of my emails.

When I rang customer service, there was no explanation offered and the manager would not take my call.
Think twice about ordering from Coco republic as they do not give refunds EVER, even if the furniture is faulty as my friend found out.

Unhelpful staff

I ordered 2 cushions mid August on line. Still waiting early November. I’ve called twice to sort this out but the people I’ve spoken to were most unhelpful. I order lots of products both locally and overseas but this is by far the worst customer experience I’ve ever had. No one is interested in helping.

If I could give a minus score I would! Terrible.

If I could give a minus score I would. I ordered some small items online for my son’s birthday amounting to $150 approx and was given an estimated due date of around one week later. I had no confirmation email and heard nothing after the scheduled delivery date had passed. I used the online form but got no response. I left a message on the concierge phone number but got no response. After trying again and waiting on hold for ages I was told it was shipping ‘next week’. This happened twice. It’s now over a month since the order was placed with no goods delivered and the birthday has passed. My online account still shows the first delivery date which was over 3 weeks ago! I do a lot of online shopping and I can honestly say this has been the worst experience out of hundreds of online sales over the years. It’s very disappointing. I’m now on hold for the umpteenth time and will be asking for a refund. Wish me luck!

Don’t deal with this business

I bought a dining table end of last year. Three weeks ago I noticed a piece of marble peeled of from its side and I noticed some other parts started lifting from it’s base. I wrote an email and got a response next day asking purchase details and gave them. After that I heard nothing for three weeks. I called them three times today and each time was told a customer service person will call me back but nothing happened.I will keep calling them until I get some result. Please all of you who read my review don’t deal with the business.

Beware...Coco Republic

Beware.... I'm a long standing customer of Coco Republic and have bought many home furnishings from them. I recently ordered $6k of goods and was not suitably advised that it would take 3 months to be delivered. When I wanted to cancel the next day after the order was placed, they advised that they would retain 20% of the order for doing absolutely nothing and would not give me a full refund. Rumour is that their business is going under because King Living and others are doing so well. Caveat Emptor: Deal with Coco Republic at your own risk.

Purchased an expensive sheet set from Coco Republic and was told they were percale cotton. Come to find out they were sateen and not percale, which we specifically said we did not want. We were denied a return and are now stuck with our old sheet set until we can save for another set. As you can imagine, girlfriend is not happy. I've called and was denied, I've emailed and have been put into the twilight zone of "we've forwarded your concern to the right department", never heard back. I would advise to stay away from this retailer. They are about profits above all else, once you purchase, u'll never get your money back even if they screwed you over. BUYER BEWARE!

third world service

the reviews from most customers says it all.
The worst customer service that we've undergone. Initially, in 2023, we were dealing with an overseas call centre where the service was appalling, and was third world. Then in 2024 they told us that they moved their service operations to Australia. Unfortunately the service is still third world. You don't get called back when you are promised and you need to make multiple contacts to different people. You go around in circles for months. They are a false company in the sense that they pretend to be glamour and high society at the store front. This is in no way backed up at the service end. Then, you are on your own and ignored. They create their own problems because the so called quality furniture that they present in store is often B grade quality when your delivery is made. They lack quality control.

Terrible after sales service

Terrible after sales service. Expensive piece of furniture delivered with damage to door... impossible ro make contact, impossible to get a call back, impossible to get it fixed.. promise to call me. Promise to sort the issue... bad bad bad customer service, infact shameful

I have a fabric headboard and base

I have a fabric headboard and base. The headboard has discoloured badly but the base is fine. I contacted them to see if they could let me know the name of the fabric - or to supply me with the fabric so I don't have to recover the base. They said they could not recover the headboard for me - nor would they supply me with the fabric name or supplier. Hence I would have to recover the entire base and headboard

Coco Republic - A nightmare

Coco Republic: An Absolute Nightmare in Customer Service and Product Quality
My experience with Coco Republic has been nothing short of a nightmare. If you value your time, money, and sanity, please read on. Here's a detailed account of the disaster that began when I purchased a modular high-quality leather lounge suite on 31/10/2021, totalling an exorbitant $13,014.
Appalling Delivery Failures:
1. Broken Promises: Despite being assured of a 7-day delivery by their staff member C, my lounge suite arrived over a month late on 13/12/2021. This egregious delay came after countless calls and emails and the promise at the time of the sale that it would be delivered in 7 days.
2. Initial Quality Issues: By 10/08/2022, the colour of the lounge suite started fading badly. Coco Republic’s response was shockingly dismissive—they offered a replacement but refused to guarantee against future colour fading.
Incompetence and Negligence:
3. Damaged Goods: When the replacement finally arrived on 24/10/2022, it had water stains from being delivered in the rain. Despite my explicit request to replace only the affected section, Coco Republic insisted on replacing the entire lounge suite—an unnecessary and outrageous decision.
4. Excruciating Wait Times: The second replacement lounge suite arrived in May 2023, a staggering seven months after the initial issue. This delay is a testament to their complete disregard for their customers’ time and satisfaction.
Gross Unprofessionalism:
5. Further Quality Deterioration: By 09/05/2024, (12 month later) the cushions attached to the frame collapsed on the corner piece and the adjacent piece
Multiple follow-ups were ignored due to Coco Republic’s revolving door of staff who clearly lack any sense of responsibility or professionalism.
6. Insulting and Offensive: When a technician finally inspected the collapsed cushions, they had the audacity to question if my weight was the cause, despite me being 179 cm tall and weighing only 68-69 kilos. This was not only insulting but indicative of their desperation to deflect blame.
Blatant Disregard for Consumer Rights:
7. Ignoring Requests for Refund: On 12/06/2024, fed up with the endless issues, I requested a refund. What followed was an unpleasant conversation with a customer service leader C.T. and an indifferent response from the company’s management.
8. Refusal to Honour Warranties: Despite referencing the product warranty and my rights under Section 54 of the Australian Consumer Law, Coco Republic continued to deny any responsibility. Their so-called third-party report was clearly biased, and they refused to share its contents, further highlighting their lack of transparency.
Final Insult:
9. Dismissive Management: My attempts to escalate the matter to Managing Director T.S. and Customer Care Manager C.T. were met with utter indifference. They outright denied responsibility and refused to engage in any meaningful resolution.

Conclusion: Coco Republic epitomises everything wrong with customer service and product quality. Their persistent delays, inferior products, unprofessional conduct, and blatant disregard for consumer rights are appalling. They are more interested in making excuses than in resolving issues or honouring their commitments. If you value your money and sanity, read this note again. This company is a masterclass in how not to treat customers. You can see it from a 2.4 star review that they have managed to get!!!
Next Steps: Due to the complete lack of resolution and Coco Republic’s utter disregard for consumer rights, I will be contacting Consumer Affairs and the ACCC to investigate this matter further. Please read all the 1 star reviews !!! how can a company be happy with that performance!!!

Great service.

I had a lovely experience at Coco Republic recently. I went into store to have a browse and to pick up a few cushions. Brenda was my salesperson and what amazing service.
She was very knowledgeable and definitely pointed me in the right direction.

I am overjoyed with the customer…

I am overjoyed with the customer service and styling advice from the staff, who are trained interior designers, and with the furniture sold by coco republic. I ordered the velvet Westwood sofa on the recommendation of the instore interior designer at Southport. It didn’t look amazing in the picture but I was assured it would be perfect and indeed it is. It is elegant, unique and beautiful. Thank you so much!

I would not recommend purchasing from Coco Republic

I would not recommend purchasing from Coco Republic. I purchased $61,000 worth of furniture in November 2023 ready for my move in date of mid March 2024. It is now July and I am still waiting for the 2 stratten lounges to arrive that were due early April. The delay due to quote “the design consultant misreading the order”. I received this information from payments team only in early May. The showroom denied any delay and told me they were in transit from East coast to Perth which they were not. There is zero communication initiated from Coco. I had to initiate all contact and constantly chase for updates. Their website states if there are any delays to orders you will be contacted this clearly did not happen. 90% of my order did not arrive by the dates initially given. I had a total of 42 items. The delivery dates on my account online would continuously be extended without any notification. 2 occasional chairs delivered were damaged one with a missing foot with a sharp nail sticking out which then scratched my new floorboards. The other with a scratch in the leather. I am still waiting for the scratched leather chair to be fixed but once again silence from Cocos. They clearly do not have any procedure in place for providing customer service and updates to customers once the sales are made. Very disappointing.
