Title: Free in-home sharpening is a myth—expect to pay for shipping or get ghosted

The "Forever Guarantee" and free sharpening are huge selling points for Cutco, but the reality of getting your knives serviced is incredibly frustrating.
I own several Cutco knives and tried to utilize their in-home sharpening service. I called the provided number and left a voicemail as requested. Two days later, having received no reply, I called again and sent a text message following their automated instructions. Still, I heard nothing. I finally called corporate customer service, and they gave me a different local representative's phone number. After several attempts, I finally managed to schedule an appointment for her to come to my house. On the day of the appointment, she completely no-showed and never called. I texted her to follow up and received absolutely no response.
The promise of easy local sharpening feels like a ruse. If you can’t get a representative to show up, your only options are to pay out-of-pocket to ship your knives back and forth to the factory every single time they get dull, or drive to their only Texas retail storefront in Houston—which is completely impractical for most people in a state this size.
Cutco needs to do better. Do not buy these knives thinking you will get hassle-free, complimentary local service. It is a major selling point that they simply do not deliver on.
