No matter how many times I email them and request that they remove my details, they have called me on a weekly basis for months.
They simply do not stop harassing people trying to sell worthless software subscriptions.
A joke of a company. AVOID 100%
A joke of a company.
1. Unclear pricing - expect to be signed up for additional usage of whatever service you clicked AUTOMATICALLY and never know that they charge you since they're not asking for your email, but 'guess it' based on the company you work at (spoiler: they didn't guess it right)
2. Support is a large ZERO - trying to explain to them for 2-3 weeks that I need the invoices issues to another company than the one they decided to use, but they can't help even with that. EXTREMELY slow responses, and they randomly drop the case, so you need to open a new ticket.

Spam E-Mails and Broken Unsubscribe
This company continually sends e-mails to me despite numerous replies saying 'stop sending e-mails'.
Their e-mails have an 'e-mail preferences' link. I clicked it (in a VM) and found that their preferences mechanism is broken - it is impossible to change the preferences and, in particular, impossible to unsubcribe from their marketing/sales/news e-mails.
IMHO they are extremely unprofessional. We will never use their services. Others may wish to consider doing the same.
Expensive and unreasonably pushy
Datadog is rather expensive, we used it for a while, then switched to a different provider. Recently their sales representative (Ben S.) started calling us, reaching out every team member one by one. I received more than 10 calls even though I never shared my phone number with them, and they never accepted polite pushback. In the end I had to abort the call sharply and block that sales person. I wish they'd focus on improving pricing instead of hiring additional sales people to push their unethical sales tactics
It started great, but then after dominance...
Pricing model is byzantine and painful to deal with at any scale. Outside of the core Observability product, most of the products are not very good. You can spend months trying to make it work for your use case and not end up with anything helpful for your business.
The monitoring tool is really good.
Terrible recruitment practices
Their APAC recruiter is the worst I have ever come across.
I'm recommended by an old colleage to Datadog, but asked nothing but the most negative "gotcha" questions (biggest weakness, biggest failing) without any positives. Seemed like a clear disqualification meeting from the start.
Completely ghosted after with just an automated rejection email. This person is a liability.

This company keeps harassing us with unsolicited marketing emails and even phone calls, with no intention to stop. It's really annoying.
UPDATE: 4th of December they moved again to phone calls. I filed a GDPR complaint due to the ongoing harassment. They use private numbers now, beware.

Very poor experience with billing and sales team. Be very careful about what is going to be charged and double check what is said even by their engineers to make sure you are not going to be billed for something you're not planning to consume. I was told several times that some aspects wouldn't have any costs and they did. Despite all the sales did not accept any reimbursement nor recognize any fault from their side. + team ignored when I shared my disapointment. first time i get such a bad customer support in cloud services
Very poor experience with the billing…
Very poor experience with the billing and overusages .
Not a fan at all
Borderline harassment
You can a leaflet one time at an expo, they somehow get your work email and just spam it - I've never replied that I'm interested once and I get emailed everyday, borderline harassment. Even if I wanted to solve this problem, I'd probably go elsewhere now.
Repeated spam calls.
Don't be fooled by Flashy Youtube Videos
Don't be fooled by Flashy Youtube Videos, they can't/won't help you get it working.
I should have known not to buy Datadog. We saw good videos of it working for monitoring Postgres Databases but never saw that in practise.
As mentioned loads already, the licensing model is very disingenuous. I also only wanted to monitor the databases and not the hosts, we still had to pay for infrastructure monitoring.
When we sorted the licensing out and tried it for 3 months we found that Datadog support knew very little about database monitoring with the product. Due to the timezone differences, they would send one message once I had finished for the day in the UK and then I had to reply and then wait another day.
All Support want to do is close your case, they don't want to help you and couldn't if they wanted to.
Continual unsolicited sales emails
Scummy and pressuring sales tactics, including unsolicited emails and LinkedIn requests - including more after leaving this review.
Extremely misleading pricing; brace for large unexpected charges at the end of the month
Extremely bad experience. Subscribed to an 18$/month service, was charged ~10x this with no warning.
1) No way to monitor actual spending in a month.
2) No way to understand what's being charged and what isn't - and what's free vs what's not.
3) No way to set an alert when approaching spending limits, or set a limit.
4) No recourse once funds charged - was unhelpfully advised "You accepted this when you signed our terms and conditions" and then emailed a link to a 100-page legal document.
Strongly recommend avoiding if you are a nascent startup unless of course you have a team of lawyers who can defend you.
Beware
Beware. For a few months my bill was $23, then they charged my debit card $1,130. Leaving me no option to get my money back. Absolutely horrible experience.

Trapping users with hidden costs and not providing a way to remove your payment method or even downgrade or end your subscription. Be very careful when dealing with these snakes.
Support is also pretty pathetic.
Bad attitude and no "beside manner".
I'd go elsewhere quickly.
