My Cane Corso training update
I don’t feel that my Cane Corso received the level of training I expected. My family and I had already taught him the basics (sit, lay down, paw, etc.) before he started training, so I was hoping for more personalized, one-on-one sessions rather than group classes with other dogs.
During the first week, my Cane Corso contracted kennel cough from being taken to doggy daycare. This not only resulted in extra medical expenses but also set back his training progress. While they did offer an additional week of training as compensation, I didn’t notice any significant improvement.
To this day, when walking him, he continues to pull on the leash and doesn’t respond when asked to stop or slow down. I reached out to the trainer for advice, and the suggestion was to “bark” to signal him to stop, which feels like an ineffective solution.
If he doesn’t want to go anywhere he sits and we have to pull and he does not go inside the kennel at all. I do understand training continues out home but For the amount of money I invested, I expected more noticeable progress in his training. As it stands, I’ll have to seek further training to address the issues that still persist.

Kristi is awesome
Kristi is awesome! She worked with our 1.5 month old pit bull Tiger that needed a lot of corrections, reactivity and was just spoiled by us. We signed up for the 4 week program. Kristi really helped hold our hand thru the whole process by explaining how to “speak dog” and continues to offer support even after Tiger has been back home with us over 2 months. We’ve definitely seen a change in Tiger and his habits but also know a lot better how to communicate and read him better for continued training at home. We loved that she sent us videos throughout the whole board and train so we can see his progress and also learn how to handle him when he came back home to us. Highly recommend and great communication as well!

Lucy
This is a follow up to a previous review. We brought our dog Lucy to Kristi at Dawgs and Stripes for help with her aggression issues. She guarded her possessions and even sometimes became aggressive with us for no reason. We tried several trainers but nothing worked. Until Kristi. She basically taught us how to deal with Lucy, be more dominant with her, and many other techniques that have now turned Lucy into the nicest dog ever. She has not been aggressive for months. And I don’t expect it to happen again, based on her current behavior We still follow Kristi’s principles every day and we are so grateful to have the dog we always wanted. Don’t give up on your dog. They can be rehabilitated. Lucy is proof!

Leo helped teach my little guy so many new positive behaviors. Leo was patient and really seemed to get to know myself and Archie. He took his time and made sure Archie was able to improve his skill level.

Dawgz & Stripes training has been the…
Dawgz & Stripes training has been the best investment I've made in my hound herd ever. I'm a very experienced Boxer owner, but needed some extra help with my young and motley crew. Manny was so helpful in arranging a trainer that was local to me. Leo and his family were amazing! I felt so much more at ease knowing my pups were actually in a home and not isolated in a commercial kennel setting. My dogs came home with the same exhuberance, but so much more calm on a leash and in public settings. Recently took my girl to our local airport for a training test run. Because of the Dawgz & Stripe training and my home follow-up, Jelly Bean did an amazing job with all sorts of new situations including sliding doors, people and car traffic, even riding a bus! Leo will be picking up my newest pup, 6 mos., in a few days and I know he will do an amazing job with her too.
I interviewed nearly 10 dog training companies/individuals before deciding on Dawgz & Stripes. They are a little more expensive than some competitors but worth every penny. Their compassion and attention to their customers is above and beyond. I highly recommend Dawgz & Stripes!

We sent our 1-year-old German Shepherd mix to Kristi after struggling with his socialization, anxiety, and over-protectiveness. In just 4 weeks, Kristi made incredible progress, building Finn’s confidence, teaching him essential commands, and positively introducing him to new situations—many of which had previously been challenging for us. Behavior problems and puppy nipping/biting
My puppy Sadie started with normal puppy nipping, but it became more like biting as she grew. She thought she was playing, but the biting was excessive, and when I would try to discipline her, she began to get aggressive and growl. She was also very reactive to other people and dogs.
When I tried to get her to stop doing something, she would not listen.
After the Board & Train program with Kristi, she knows how to play with other dogs, and most importantly, she listens.
I get to reinforce the foundation that Kristi instilled in her, and I have a receptive puppy. This is especially important to me because I have children, and I would not want to put them in a compromising position.
Kristi tells me what to do with Sadie and explains the why behind everything, which helps me better understand my puppy. This has allowed our relationship to grow and improve, and I know this is just the beginning. I am beyond grateful to Kristi and Dawgz & Stripes for helping me correct my puppy's behaviors and thus strengthening our relationship.

A much needed training and a wonderful experience
What a wonderful experience . I will be honest, at first I was nervous allowing my dog to go stay with someone I never met for 3 week. After meeting Kristi you knew right away this was a real dog trainer with a lot of experience . Throughout our pups stay she was always in contact sending following up videos of how he is doing , and also sent many videos on how to do commands that we will be using to help us keep up with his training.
His sit, down, come and stay commands are such a difference compared to when he first left. The tough guy attitude around our smaller dog and cats have changed and pays no attention to them, and if he does he’s a polite boy now.
I would highly recommend if you really want your pup to get into good habits early.

One of a kind Dog trainer
I hired Kristina to help train two of my pups that were born during Covid and she was so helpful I later had my dogs stay with her for further training for over a month. She sent me daily videos to show progress with training and I love her attention to care and detail so much I refer my skin care clients to her who have dogs regularly!

I would give this place a zero if I…
I would give this place a zero if I could. My dog came back worse and looked sick. We believe our dog was abused. Nothing was taught nor could Kristi demonstrate anything he learned. They use whatsapp to hide communication then delete the messages when it is too late so you won't have any evidence for court - then they flash the contract in front of you and the judge and so you have no recourse. Today I received the following email from another client that had a terrible experience:
"They lied several times and even provided false documents in court. Everything from breach of contract to trying to care me off with false documents and animal abuse. She (Kristi Mallett) slammed her knuckles on my dogs nose right in front of me and told me to “knee him in his chest like I was punting a soccer ball across a field” then got mad at me when I didn’t want to. She threw a full water bottle at the wall as hard as she could and during the hearing she held up her water bottle to the judge asking if she could demonstrate her water bottle technique. The judge Samra let them win and I tried credit card chargebacks also which didn’t go through and I showed the judge they unfortunately received all their payments and gave copies of that to the judge, she let them win $1200. because of their false documents. The judge in their county is not right either. DO NOT USE - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

We are deeply disturbed by your recent review, which contains numerous false and defamatory statements about Dawgz & Stripes Dog Training. We have already addressed these allegations in previous responses to your reviews and have provided ample evidence to refute your claims.
Your repeated attempts to damage our reputation are unacceptable and will not be tolerated. We have documented all of your actions, including your previous threats of legal action, and we will not hesitate to take further legal steps if necessary.
It is important to note that Christina's allegations have been thoroughly investigated and found to be false. She has lost two separate lawsuits against us, and the evidence presented in those cases clearly demonstrates her lack of credibility.
We have also provided you with evidence of your dog's progress during training and your own positive comments about his behavior. Your claim that your dog came back worse is simply untrue and contradicts your own words.
We strongly urge you to cease your harassment and defamatory behavior. Your actions are only harmful to the reputation of dog trainers in the industry.

Dawgznstripes did wonders for our energetic goldendoodle went from a mouthy, excitable and behavior problem puppy to a well-behaved dog with confidence. Kristi taught us how to bring out the best in our dog. We had no idea how much potential he had! As owners, we were taught how to solve behavior problems by breaking down training into mini-steps. Over the years I have had the distinct pleasure of working with many great professionals in the working dog world. However, Frank is one of the absolute best professionals & behavioralists I’ve been able to work with! He really knows dog psychology & is proactive in his approach in working with troubled dogs. I absolutely love the fact that he takes the time to discover why the dog is behaving the way it is. Rather than the quick fix shock & bark collar methods. He believes without truly understanding the dog behaviors & its tied previous life experiences there’s no authentic way of resolving the present behavior. He truly is a class act. He’s not only about the dog but also the person & family as well. I highly recommend their training!

Having confidence in your dog is priceless
Frank, we had our final meeting with Kristi. I am very happy and hopeful. I feel we have the tools we need to proceed. It will require some concentrated effort on our part but the rewards are worth it. We missed her and are so happy to have her home. Kristi has been great and very responsive. We couldn't be happier.

Manny did wonderful with my Frenchie Luna. She had zero discipline and Manny change her behavior less than one month! Highly recommended and here’s the plus! Manny is passionate, your fur kid will be well taken care of!

Kristi is a dog whisperer
I love Kristi and everything she’s done for my pup, Peanut and me. Worth EVERY PENNY and I think EVERY owner who aren’t professionals, should put their puppy into this training program. She even offers to pick up your pup and drop off!
I can be a lot and have high expectations so I was communicating a lot with her and was quite anxious. However, she exceeded my expectations. This is my first puppy so I was pretty hardcore with training him but she helped me learn behavior is SO much more significant than tricks. Old dogs can learn new tricks but changing their behavior is a different story. Kristi speaks dog and translates for me. She also was SOOO understanding of me and never made me feel bad for bombarding her with questions. She’d say, I’m just human having human emotions and I just feel so grateful. I asked for a more customized program and oh man she delivered. One, my puppy no longer whines and, taking him on walks, he’s just THE BEST. Every puppy has their own personality and every owner often unknowingly reinforces certain behaviors. She called me out on what I needed to improve in and it helped me so much. She sent videos and checked in throughout the three weeks of training. I’ve been teaching my puppy to be scared and insecure. Through Kristi’s training and guidance, I’ve helped my puppy build more confidence and she is still available as a resource even when my pup came back. Highly recommend! Thanks so much Kristi!
