They broke my bonnet release & took over a week to fix it!
I booked my 16 y/o Cayenne in for a new door seal as the one on the B- Pillar had split from wear & tear. I was quoted approx £150 all in, and thought that was quite reasonable for a main dealership and was told the work would take 1 hour, so I booked in a wait in appointment for Saturday at 9:00am as I was travelling up from Penarth. When I got there the reception staff were absolutely fabulous and looked after us really nicely with refreshments. From the service reception we were looked after from Josh who also great. For some reason the service centre took over 3 hours to get the work completed and they did a real nice wash & vac and a Health Check and we left there approx 1:00pm. It actually become apparent why the job took so long as on Monday morning when I tried to open the bonnet I realised that the bonnet release handle was broken and the clip at the top of the handle was hanging out. I called Porsche Centre Newport and told them my findings and they completely denied it. I did have to remind them that they did a Health Check which involves opening the bonnet so it could have not been broken before I bought the car to them and the fact that it took so long in the workshop to fit the door seal and also that the bonnet release handle was lose and the clip looks as if it had been prised out with a screwdriver. Porsche Centre Newport said that they would have a look at it and that they could pick the car up on Tuesday and deliver it back the next day, so I agreed. The car was picked up and I never heard anything back from them on Wednesday so I called them about 4:00pm and the service manager Tom apologised and then told me that it was going to cost me £440 including the parts that were £62, I went absolutely berserk and told him that I would not be paying the sum of £440 for the damage caused by them and I was happy to get my solicitor involved. I told Tom that the most I would agree to is pay for the parts. Tom told me that he would talk to his manager and get back to me, which he did and said the that Porsche Centre Newport would cover the labour costs and the car would be completed and delivered back to me tomorrow, which was Thursday. Thursday at 3:00pm I called Porsche Centre Newport to ask them what time I was to expect my car to be delivered to me, and Tom told me that they had ordered the wrong part so I would not get my car back until tomorrow. Friday at 3:00pm I called Tom and he told me that it was actually the correct part but some of it was missing and with the weekend he could only get my car to me on Monday. Monday I called Tom at 3:00pm and he told me that some extra part are required and it will be done for tomorrow. Tuesday 3:00pm (and by this time I had used all the free lifts favours available up!) I called Tom to ask where is my car and he told me it is taking a bit longer than he expected and it would be finished tomorrow. I did ask him if it usually takes over a week to fit a bonnet release handle and he reluctantly replied no. Tom told me that he would call me in the morning. The following day Tom from Porsche Centre Newport called me to say the car was complete and that the parts were now £140, I was annoyed but just paid as I had been without a car for a week, and I did ask if he could throw in a few Porsche goodies for my daughter as a sweetener as we received such poor service which Tom agreed to, but unfortunately never did (if Tom would have kept to his word and thown in some goodie, I would not have left such a poor review). So in a nutshell, Porsche Centre Newport Service Centre staff tell lies and are not really concerned about their customers and leave them for over a week without a car and also take them a week to do a 3 hour job!
