I'm sorry the chocolate wasn't for you, Christopher, but I really appreciate you giving four different flavours a fair try.
Taste is incredibly personal, and if you're used to conventional chocolate with a lot more sugar, ours can certainly taste very different. I deliberately let the cocoa take centre stage rather than trying to recreate that very sweet taste... but I completely understand that won't suit everyone.
On delivery, we do quote 3–5 working days before dispatch because we make our chocolate fresh in small batches rather than having huge quantities sitting in a warehouse. I appreciate that can feel longer than ordering from a large retailer though.
Thank you for trying us, Christopher. We may not have converted you, but I genuinely appreciate you giving my little chocolate business a chance.

This is my third order and was for my wife’s birthday. I was concerned it was running late as I had not received notification of dispatch. However I was not to worry as I contacted Dan via WhatsApp on a late Saturday evening and assured me he would deal with it personally first thing Monday which he did. It arrived for my wife’s birthday and she loves it. She’s prediabetic and so this brand gives her confidence to enjoy the chocolate, which she does very much.

Birthdays don't move just because we're busy making chocolate, so once you messaged me I wanted to make absolutely sure we got it sorted for you.
But the best part of your review is hearing how much your wife enjoys it. Knowing that, as someone who is prediabetic, she's found a chocolate she feels confident including as a treat means an enormous amount to me.

This company has enabled me to enjoy chocolate once again.
As a diabetic the only choice I had was dark chocolate 70% or above, thanks to Dan and his team I can enjoy milk chocolate once again. The quality of this product is delicious and obviously guilt free. The orders always arrive on time and we'll packaged. I would highly recommend you try Dan's chocolates if you are diabetic, you will not be disappointed. I am now a regular subscriber.

This is my second review of deliciously guilt free my first review was the milk chocolate which was very very nice but the second is the milk chocolate orange and i have to say its absolutely stunning in my last review I said how I've cleaned chocolate tankers out for well over 20 years and safe to say I know good chocolate when I taste it and how the chocolate industry has sadly declined well dan and his team have thrown a massive spanner in the works for the old chocolate makers and i have to say hand on heart there chocolate is the best I've had in a long time and im sure this will not be my last order from them thanks guys 10 out of 10

Gorgeous taste no blood spike
Service is first rate, efficient and prompt. But more importantly the chocolate is delicious, I especially love the dark chocolate, and doesn’t spike your blood levels. Great to have when you fancy a sweet treat!

Fantastic chocolate
Fantastic chocolate. Having diabetes and recently having to take insulin I needed my chocolate fix and came across this amazing company. Super fast delivery, chocolate tastes beautiful and doesn’t spike my blood sugar. I took a bite of Cadbury chocolate recently and it tastes horrendous after eating such a good quality well made chocolate. I am a returning customer and will be back in good time. I fully recommend this product to everyone.

Underwhelming start. Milk chocolate bar pretty tasteless. However, orange bar and mint bar are phenomenal. Nice flavours and textures. Dark is nice too. Also you are supporting and up and coming small business, good luck to you.

The chocolate is superb. I bought the 4 Chocolate Bars Box which has a selection of flavours, all are lovely. It's for my teenage daughter who was recently diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and this gives her a sweet treat without her levels going sky high!

A type 1 diagnosis as a teenager must bring so many changes for your daughter and for the whole family, so knowing my chocolate can still give her something that feels like a proper treat is incredibly special.

I'm not trying to make the cheapest chocolate, Jonathan. Proper cocoa butter, quality ingredients and making everything ourselves in small batches costs more, so hearing you say it's worth every penny genuinely means a lot.
And I'm particularly pleased you mentioned the personal touch. However much DGF grows, I never want to lose that.

Excellent But .......
I discovered DGF about 6 months ago, and by far my favourite is the white chocolate, which is excellent and was my go-to treat! I cannot fault the quality! However, it isn't regularly produced anymore as it's apparently too difficult a process. There was one recent small batch, but the price had risen from £7.99 a bar to £10.99 a bar, which just pushes it beyond what I think is reasonable to spend on what is a very nice keto treat.

Darrell, I read this one and, genuinely, it pulled on my heartstrings a little because I completely understand where you're coming from.
Firstly, I'm delighted the White became your go-to treat. And I should clarify something... it isn't actually harder to make. The problem is capacity.
White is a completely different recipe, so I have to dedicate one of our machines to making it, empty and thoroughly clean everything afterwards, then switch back to Milk. At the moment we're struggling to make enough chocolate to keep up with demand, so keeping those machines producing our core recipes for longer runs has unfortunately had to take priority.
On the price... I completely empathise. It's a lot of money for a bar of chocolate.
The difficulty is that our White is an extraordinary 45% cocoa butter. Cocoa butter is actually more expensive than the cocoa beans themselves. Think of it a bit like olives and olive oil... extracting the valuable oil, or in this case cocoa butter, is considerably more expensive.
Cocoa prices have increased enormously over the last 18 months and, as a small family business which is vastly dwarfed by the big chocolate conglomerates, we haven't yet seen the benefit of the more recent falls in prices coming through to the ingredients we're buying.
One way manufacturers can keep prices down is by replacing expensive cocoa butter with cheaper fats such as palm oil. I simply won't do that. I'd rather make less White Chocolate and keep it as the genuinely high-quality product you fell in love with.
But please don't think White has disappeared forever! We still make occasional batches and often have some available behind the scenes for subscribers. Drop us a message whenever you're craving a bar and, if we've got some, we'll happily sort you out.
And as our ingredient costs come down, I'll absolutely pass those savings on where I can.
