DICE Complaint
04/10/25 OMG! It's now been over two weeks and yet Dice hasn't bothered to fix its broken search engine. My best guess is that they just don't give a damn. You'd think a company in the tech industry would have the brains to get it done. Thankfully, there are other job boards that do get it right.

Could you please let me know why when I set the following search criteria jobs from across the country are appearing in my search results:
"Contract",
"On-Site",
"Supply Chain",
"Sacramento, CA",
as those search results include:
"Remote or Columbus, Indiana USA"
"Remote or San Jose, California, USA"
"Remote and Savannah, Georgia, USA".
****************************************
Is it because I set the "Work Setting" in my profile (on a completely different webpage) to "Remote", because that would be super dumb to use that criteria to override my search results.
I don't understand as my profile page should have absolutely nothing to do with my search criteria as that would confuse the entire search process.
Otherwise, I'm not sure what the hang-up is. Please advise. Thank you.

Thank you for contacting us. To optimize the results of your searches, I would suggest using a Boolean string. Listed below are examples of Boolean strings using the terms Java Developer, JavaScript, and HTML.
If you were to look for a job as a Java Developer, or involving JavaScript, you would write the Boolean string as follows:
("Java Developer" OR JavaScript)
Now, if you wanted to find a job that also included HTML, you would add it to the Boolean string as follows:
("Java Developer" OR JavaScript) AND HTML
AND is used to combine terms
OR is used to expand options
AND NOT is used to narrow your search by excluding certain terms
Quotation Marks are used to isolate exact phrases, such as "Java Developer"
If you would like to see more information on how to create a Boolean string, check out our Dice Insights page!
Please note, searching for positions by skill, instead of by title, may return more relevant results. This is due to employers describing similar positions with different job titles. Searching for a job by skills will help to locate the positions best fitting your needs.

C'mon Dice Support, you could do a much better job as your answer was totally irrelevant and had nothing to do with my question.
