Just selling instead of fixing ?

After a couple of drone repairs by Dr Drone
That I couldn’t do myself that were at least cheaper than a new drone I sent in a virtually brand new mini4pro that had fallen off a railing onto concrete .
It still looked new but suffered damage to the power switch which would require an expensive part to fix.
I was asked to phone re my repair and was told that with labour and 1 part it would be nearly the price of new and was offered a new one ‘in a box’
The price I was quoted was about what I could buy a bare mini4pro for
So I thought ‘ brand new in a box’ meant complete with a battery
So at least I’ll get a battery
However brand new in a box didn’t mean complete
So now my repair has cost me about what I could buy the bare aircraft for anyway
And now DrDrone has my brand new drone and a good markup on ‘ new in a box’ drone they sold me!
I feel that I was deliberately deceived as I had no repair done just got a sales job and at I thought I would at least gain a battery

I was sent this by Drdrone to help DrDrone overcome some negative reviews on Trust Pilot
I don’t know where this will end up

This review may not help much , but they asked for my honest review .
I haven’t read the reviews they mentioned , but I for one will be looking for alternatives should I need drone repair in the future

First, Rick I would like to apologize we made you feel unhappy about your past interaction with us. I would always suggest asking for a manager in a case like this.

You've been a great customer, you've bought multiple drones and have had multiple repairs with us for over 5 years. You're the customer that's most important to us. Thank you for your support over the last 5 years and I hope you believe we're not happy that you left unsatisfied.

I would like to justify why went down the road we did because im unsure how it was explained to you.

First I would like to mention the Mavic Mini 4 Pro aircraft only SKU is not available in Canada, but it is also more expensive then the drone only sku that we provided you, you missed out on a discounted battery and if you want to contact us about that, we would be happy to figure out a discount on a battery for you. Every now and then suppliers can get the sku you requested, but by special request from the manufacturer, and it is rare they help out. I just checked even DJI doesn't have them listed on their website. This use to be our favorite SKU for any drone becuase you can help out people with crashes. Perhaps they realized they make more money without that sku.

That being said the road we went down was cheaper then that option and better then just a basic repair. We don't like risking loose modules or other components that are almost impossible to asses at 100 percent certainty. The expensive part as you called it, is the core board, it's like a mother board on a computer where essentially every important chip is on or plugged into it.

We try to push the customers to the drone replacements becuase it's safer for them. We make less money. Your bill would have been cheaper doing the repair over the replacement but we would've made twice as much money with the repair. It's all about safety and longevity.

The thing with hard crashes, is you never know what else could have gotten lose that regular repairs and inspections can't see or test for during diagnostics.

Interms of repairs like yours we made less money to keep you safe. You paid a little more money then just a normal repair but now you have a crash free drone.

The Mini 4 Pro that you purchased from us is $1059, exclusive of tax and shipping, with the occasional sale every now and then.

Your repair was $606, but we shouldn't call it a repair, your new drone only cost $606.

The $453 difference comes mainly from no battery, remote and other small accessories. Most people don't want these anyway after a paying for a crash because they already own them. I'm sorry you did, in certain cases it makes sense having extras.

Now if the aircraft only SKU was around, that would have been around $850 - $900 for the replacement repiar.

If we repaired it from scratch you might have saved $75 - $125 but then you have a risk of drone falling out of the sky, that could destroy property that you would be liable for or worse hurt a human, animal or child. It's important we hold our repair division to these standards.

We tried to find the sweet spot between cost savings and safety.

That's why we went down the road we did.

Like I said you've had multiple orders for over 5 years. If you have any idea on how we can make this up to I'm sure our team will try their best.

Ask for Tim or Pavan. Those are senior managers who definitely care about your experience.

Drone crashed and repaired

I have been a drone pilot for nearly 7 years and had my share of mistakes. The first was crashing my Mavic pro, doing quite a bit of damage. I was recommended by an online contact to try Dr Drone to do the repairs. As soon as I contacted them they sent me a shipping tag and it was on its way to their facility. They advised me when they received it, and advised they would contact me with a report and an estimate within 10 days.
The repairs were extensive but I authorized the work. Within 2 weeks after the quote they sent it out to me. It was like having a new drone, they were amazing!
I had another crash recently where I crashed my drone in our saltwater pool. I sent it out to them to see if it could be repaired. They did not try to waste my money and time. They advised me that the repairs would cost more than the value of the drone. I 100% trusted their advise and they returned it to me.
If I ever crash my new drone, these are my go to guys!!! I trust them!

Happy Customer!

First off let me say, the staff are very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They answered all my questions, while guiding me to decide on which product to purchase, at that time not to purchase anything, keeping the product I already had. Knowing they were going to lose the sale. That kind of honesty is almost impossible to find now days in any retail market.
Anytime I have any questions, or I am going to buy a product they sell, Dr. Drone is my first stop!
Definitely deserving a five star review!

My experience has been all good

My experience has been all good. Once I had to cancel a purchase and there were no issues. I finally bought a NEO with goggles and controller. I thought there was something not right and called in. Help came immediately. There was not a problem with the NEO, it was probably with me! It is fine now and I am enjoying the FPV.

Great Service

Excellent Service. We have used DrDrone on multiple occasions including: ordering several drones (Phantom 4 Pro V2, Matrice 300 RTK) and payloads (RGB, LiDAR), contacting their user support for assistant with operational issues, and seeking advice on what payload and accessories to buy. Staff very helpful and knowledgeable and has helped us several times when we have been "stuck" in the field.

Excellent Customer Service

I had contacted Dr Drone about a specific project I was working on. The gentlemen I was talking too was very helpful and informative, suggesting a product that provide me with a solution. He also offered resources to help me with some of the third party applications I needed to complete the job. The ordering process was easy, with fast shipping. Dr Drone even followed up to make sure I received my order and that everything was working as it should. Very happy with the service I received at Dr Drone, and will make my next purchase with them as well.

Crashed my drone a while back

Crashed my drone a while back, contacted DrDrone they helped me out on how to ship it to them. My drone was repaired quickly and they stayed in touch the whole time. No charge for the small parts, just labor, it was returned good as new. Great service. I will be buying my next drone from them. support Canadian!

Fantastic customer service

The customer support for Dr.Drone is second to none. Anyone can buy a drone from Amazon, but only people like Dr.Drone will help you buy the right one and answer whatever questions you may have. I bought the Mini 4 Pro over the Air3S after helpful advice. And they get back to you quickly! Not many people do that anymore and it is very much appreciated.

Asked to give a good review

I do not like getting emails asking me to give someone a good review even if it’s worded “if you have had a good experience” to me that doesn’t matter after the way you framed it up. It’s clear what you are implying. As a person that helps run an ecom I understand that bad reviews can hurt but I would not take advantage of customer loyalty to bail me out. You say the reviews are misleading…how do I know that ?
Good day. Won’t matter soon if drones go up 40% not counting the 40% we already lose due to the exchange .
