We have had unit for about 5 years
We have had the unit for about 5 years. We often get a bad smell that smells like sewage or rotten eggs. It is variable as to when we get it. We have had the company back several times. We have put in a special filter.
However the problem persists.
I am now turning it off, as nothing seems to fix the problem, and when the service people come, the smell is not present.
Most frustrating.

A great system and great installers
Had the system installed for two days and already have seen the differences; the house is warmer and the 'crying windows' stopped crying. The system is quiet and the vents and ducting inobtrusive. The installers are professional, efficient, careful, obliging and went the extra miles to meet proposed changes. All in all, a happy experience with the system and the installers. Look forward to finding more happy surprises in what the system can improve the air quality, moisture and warmth soon.
Overpriced fan
Blows cold air at night from the attic in winter and warm air at night from attic in summer. Go figure? One fan, a thermostat and bit of ducting for 3k. Being fleeced, New Zealand?

No support for older models.
I have a DVS system that was installed in 2006. It does not work. I contacted DVS. They said we don't carry parts for that model anymore and recommended I buy a new one.

We were really pleased with Digger who…
We were really pleased with Digger who came to see us and talked us through about the DVS. It has been worth every penny we don't have any more condensation on the windows even though we are double glazed we still had a little, but now everything is bone dry. We get the filter changed every July and are very pleased with it. We would just like to say thank you very much best thing we ever had done.

Brent who came a explained about the DVS product was easy to talk with and clear in his presentation. I felt no pressure but very much included in what was being offered and the options available. A very good experience.

very good service all-round.Supply issues encountered which delayed the installation of 4 units indoors and 1 outdoor unit. we were kept informed and advised of the delays.when the due date arrived the team promptly assembled at our place to install all units as arranged. They worked meticulously all day long from 7.30 in the morning until 10pm that night to complete the full installation.above and beyond what was expected.many thanks to Russell for his diligence and hard work ethic.

Dvs issue resolved
Updated review. DVS were very helpful and contacted me the day after this review. They have since put in an external air supply unit so the air comes from outside instead. Much better for our situation, working well. Thanks Team.
Not enjoying our dvs, air smells musty from the attic. We had to turn if off as my husband's breathing was effected and he had to go to the doctor for asthma and allergy medication. It stopped when we turned off the dvs started again months later when back on. Feel like we have wasted thousands. We have adjusted the settings as per phone advice. Will now email for further resolution.

The woman who came around to assess for a quote was excellent and this sold it for me. The installer was fast efficient clean highly skilled and very helpful and polite. Couldn’t have asked for more.

not installed correctly, bad (no) communication
So the initial consultation was good, but we already had to sent reminders for appointments, foreshadowing what was to come. We opted for some optional features including the summer bypass, ending up with one of their most expensive packages. The idea here is to blow in cold air from the cold side of the house into the house, bypassing the heat exchange, in order to help it cooling down faster in summer in the evenings. The installation crew seemed to be inexperienced, one thing that worried me a bit was the advice to duck-tape the unit after replacing the filter. Because it was warm we started using the unit with summer bypass on -- this had two issues: (1) the fan was so noisy that we had to turn it down at night, (2) it made the house warmer, not cooler. It took me some time to establish that the unit was not correctly installed, I took photos taken of the controller to illustrate this (links are not allowed here but you can find a link in my review on google) -- it shows how the temperature drops once the summer bypass is turned off. So I contacted them again and after initial contact this basically got lost in their system. This was 4 weeks ago, no response yet.
Update: since posting this we had better communication and a service by a knowledgeable technician. This has improved the situation a bit. I still think the summer vent is not a particularly useful and overpriced feature, we did expect that this would really cool down the house (as the inlet is on the side of the house that does not get the sun where the temperature is much lower than in the house and under the roof) but the net benefit is that it merely does not heat it up by fresh air going through the heat exchange.
I will see how this performs in winter and update the review.

Waste of money and time …
The summer option is a waste of money in Hawkes Bay, with a poor design, design underperforming. The smart sensor is not smart, we need to take over the control to get limited uses out of the system, and my partner is not happy. When coming to instore no real plan nor science in the system using tech. Has turned out to be a poor design Overall poorly engineered if it has been engineered. The system may be designed to hide what people think is working in fact good healthy humidity is not going on. No good use of materials that cardboard and $30 fan with $4 sensor and little piping plus $20 filter with $5 outlet vents would work manly times better is my current view. Unless they get it working we the buyer will need to repair it ourselves the new system else get them removed the system. Just built our own using science. I am very sad we aren't able to buy with a state of mind to turn it on and walk away and it would work. As a buyer discover it was not working to the best is not good. The problem must fall back on DVS training and level of science and not using tech? We wait and see what they come up with to make the system work with the basic parts used in an efficient way. For now big failure for us.

Kevin was fantastic through the process, during trying covid lockdown conditions in Auckland on a constrained time frame and budget. We had limited floor-ceiling space in our 2-storey house to go downstairs to our rental unit downstairs. Kevin worked with the installation team to revisit and refit a solution that delivered us an affordable and effective win for both the upstairs and downstairs property. It really makes a difference to work with someone who is responsive on email and phone, and cares about the final outcome.

DVS is fantastic!
Atu and Willy did a great job, maintaining their professionalism and working as a team !
The DVS system was difficult to install in the small cupboard space , but they managed it skill fully.
DVS system is great and keeps the home fresh and have now installed it in both of our properties.

Absolute Winner
Absolute Winner - 12 months on now and by far the best thing we have done to eliminate crying windows in the mornings. All houses should have these installed - including all rental properties. So much drier and warmer.
