Beware of Eagle Natural Resources…

Beware of Eagle Natural Resources (ENR). My wife and I are retired seniors who invested $100,000 in an Eagle Natural Resources oil-and-gas partnership in late 2025. This was retirement capital we cannot replace.

Companies and investment professionals have legal, regulatory, and ethical responsibilities when dealing with senior investors. Seniors—generally those age 65 and older—have protections intended to safeguard retirement assets, prevent financial exploitation and fraud, and help protect against unsuitable investment recommendations. Based on our experience, ENR did not provide the care, transparency, or protection we believe senior investors should receive under applicable standards.

Before investing, we saw Facebook advertising projecting a potential 60% IRR and submitted a form to learn more. The CEO then contacted me by phone and text and stated that the oil project had existing production and revenue, that distributions were expected to begin by year-end, and that there could be a path to recovering our capital within about one year.

Before investing, I explained that we had lost money in another oil-and-gas investment and was concerned about taking on another risk. I was reassured that this project was viable and that a buy-back option would be available if we later chose to exit.

Those expectations did not materialize. Distributions did not begin in December 2025, January 2026, or February 2026. When I asked about the missing distributions, the prior expectations communicated to me changed to the position that investors should expect nothing. As of this review, we have received no distributions and recovered none of our principal.

We repeatedly tried to resolve these concerns privately. In early 2026, I asked the CEO during a phone call about anticipated first-quarter distributions. Instead of receiving a payment or a clear explanation of the investment’s performance, I was offered an undefined part-time consulting role. I declined because, in my view, this appeared to sidestep ENR’s responsibilities concerning our investment rather than address the questions about distributions, performance, or returns.

We also repeatedly requested access to the partnership’s financial and operational records in our capacity as General Partners. Rather than receiving the transparency we expected, I received this text from the CEO: “Only access you’re getting from me is a lawsuit from here buddy. And we’re kicking you out and suing you cause I’m not putting up with your bs.”

We were later issued a Schedule K-1 reflecting approximately $96,000 in tax credits. Because ENR did not provide underlying financial and operational documentation supporting that amount, our CPA advised us not to claim the credit, explaining that claiming a large credit without adequate documentation could create serious tax concerns. We were also advised to report the matter to the IRS.

In early April 2026, I again requested the buy-back option discussed before our investment. On April 21, 2026, ENR proposed buying back our interest for only 5% of our original investment, conditioned on our relinquishing all working interests. After investing $100,000 of retirement savings that we cannot replace, we experienced this proposal as a slap in the face—not a meaningful or fair path to recovery. As senior investors, we did not believe the proposal reflected the care, fairness, or protection appropriate when retirement savings are at stake.

Bottom line: We invested retirement savings based on representations about production, revenue, anticipated distributions, and potential capital recovery. None of the expected distributions occurred; we have recovered no principal; and we did not receive the financial records, transparency, or responsiveness we expected as General Partners. The proposed 5% buy-back would require us to surrender our interests while absorbing a 95% loss.

We are retired seniors, and this $100,000 was retirement savings we cannot replace. We want ENR to provide a fair, documented resolution and return our retirement savings.

In an effort to better understand our experience with Eagle Natural Resources, I researched the company and spoke with other investors who described concerns and investment experiences similar to ours.

Despite our continued attempts to contact ENR through texts to the CEO, the company website, phone calls, and email, ENR has ceased responding to us.
