We bought a brand new Elddis Chatsworth 840 last September, have used it a handful of times over winter. A couple of weeks ago my niece sat on the bench seat by the door and it collapsed splitting the wood. We took pictures and got in touch with the caravan retailer we bought it from, was told to include photos of damage and a description of what happened in an email and they would get in touch with Elddis. Received an email a week later telling me that Elddis had rejected my claim from the photos I provided. I was not happy 😡 to say the least so I rang Elddis and spoke to customer service asking them that how can they tell from photos taken on my iPhone that it was not a manufacturers fault and we had caused the damage the van is less than a year old !!! . I was informed that all vans are put though rigorous testing and this was not a manufacturing fault. I was told to get back in touch with my retailer and they would give me a quote for the repair. What a joke I don’t think we will be buying an Elddis van ever again very poor customer service and vans that frankly aren’t built well. (My very kind next door neighbour has fixed it for me by reinforcing wood inside and making it a lot stronger)

Well where should I start we brought a brand new caravan in March 2019 ,all seemed well except for screeching brakes but fast forward March 2020 ,1st service 50% damp found around door and into side wall, then we went into lockdown so couldn't get work done at dealers, March 2021 damp now gone to 90% and moved along to the wheel arch and towards the front ,the work was done August 2021 and took 1month to dry out and repair to be done .
March 2022 another service and yes more damp this time 50 to 75% damp found need complete new frontage and yet again a long wait till parts arrive.
Feb 2024 service and wow more damp this time in the back wall, the front again but this time it's gone into the floor at front, time for repair estimate from dealer is August because Elddis are so slow at getting parts to us it took them a month to accept warranty claim. The work sheet was given to us by the dealer it's 2 pages long and it's over 46 hours work plus all the drying out time that's going to be needed .
Elddis point out in sales pitch ,,it's should be your dream vehicle ( more like nightmare )
If work is needed vehicle to be made available in 6 weeks not 6 month...
The whole sealant on the van itself is rubbish and all turning black no matter what you do even the dealership has said the sealant used it no good had problem even with the awning rall and sealant
The caravan design is great but the build
quality is absolutely disgusting ,for the money you pay out for these vans it's depressing and soul destroying and we really wish we had not brought it.

Purchased a brand new Elddis 454 Avante caravan January 2023 after its first service the following year, found to have damp. Won't use explevites but I was surprised how complacent the agent and Elddis were when receiving this news. Currently waiting for repairs. Dehumidifier in the caravan which I purchased myself after googling how to dry out a damp caravan with masking tape on the right hand side rail. Also covered with a Protec bespoke cover. This caravan was the biggest investment I've ever made apart from a mortgage, what a mistake. Will keep you all updated on the following events as I feel this will be a nightmare ride. I did give the company a one star rating after finding out the caravan had damp after one year of purchasing it. Rectifying the fault was prompt and communication between myself Elddis and Grantham Caravans formerly known as Robinson caravans was satisfying considering the heartache and disappointment on receiving the news of the caravan's fault. I hope to God this is the last time I have to edit this review.

What an absolute disgrace of a company. Wait several extra months for the delivery of a brand new £62k Motorhome. When it arrives the toilet door doesn’t close; the heating vent doesn’t work; the Eldis installed GPS doesn’t work. After several weeks of chasing we still don’t have a working GPS and we can’t even get a response. Don’t go anywhere near them. Can I have my Autocruise brilliantly built campervan back please?
Quality control? What quality control?
Many thanks, we will certainly do that at the end of the week. We have just arrived in Cornwall giving the van it’s first test run. Things are even worse than we expected as the fridge door doesn’t close properly and there is almost certainly something wrong with the radio antennae as the radio is unusable even close to large towns. Struggling with FM and DAB unusable. Loads of little tents here and there where the build has been so shoddy, oily fingerprints, screw covers falling off. Did you employee your staff from BOENG?
We did try to chase the SatNav issue directly with Peugeot but they said the van’s media system wasn’t registered with them, so they wouldn’t take it any further.
So here we are 1 year after ordering our new Eldis motorhome. It was finally delivered several months late with 16 significant faults. Having tried to get these faults we still have 16 issues outstanding. Even Eldis themselves can’t get one of their own approved dealers to fix the warranty faults as they have all told us they don’t get paid enough by Eldis to take on the work. Why would anyone by an Eldis when their workmanship is so poor, there is no quality Assurance and they don’t honour their warranty’s?
If I could rate Eldis zero stars I would lower my rating of this company. They are cheaper than most of their competitors for very good reasons

I love my CV80, I have nothing but positive things to say about it. course there are little things that could make it better but I plan to do that myself over the years ahead.
I wanted to post as loads of mates of mine work at Elddis and they are great lads. Grafting hard to get the customers there vans. Loads of things wrong there but it’s getting better and a ranting of a few lunatic ex employees finished for being wronguns ain’t helping nobody.
We should support our local companies and keep em going through tough economic times. My van is first class so wanted to support them.

Hi, Following an issue with my CV80 regarding the locking mechanism on the pop up roof Elddis have agreed to replace the faulty part following an intervention by Rachel Moncrief who works for Elddis. Really happy with the outcome so a big thank you to Rachel and the company.

BUYER BEWARE
If you are thinking of buying a caravan I would strongly advise you NOT to purchase from Glossop and NOT to purchase an Elddis caravan.
I would hate for anyone to find themselves in the position I find myself, I have no option other than to take court action against Glossop.
I have spent the last eleven months trying to get my brand new caravan repaired. I have not been able to use it for the last seven. Despite countless emails, phone calls and sending the three letters required prior to court action Glossop and Elddis have just ignored this situation and allowed it to continue. The last two letters have been ignored and the first prompted a reply from Ralph Thorman, general manager, it was obvious he was totally ignorant of my situation and clearly not interested in resolving it. I have even offered to use Alternative Dispute Resolution to mediate.
I went with my daughter to the Caravan and Camping show at the NEC in February 2023 looking to purchase a new Caravan. We spent ages visiting different dealers eventually deciding on Glossop and the Elddis Chatsworth 868 purely because Morgan the salesman was excellent. I paid the deposit with expected delivery in August. Unfortunately, the caravan was delayed and didn’t arrive until April 2023. The caravan was delivered to me on the April 25th. I immediately noticed a lump under the floor covering just inside the door, I stayed in the caravan for a week to check everything worked etc, at the end of which I called Glossop to notify them of not only the lump but a couple of other issues. It took quite a time before I received a phone call to advise the caravan would need to go back to the factory and I would hear from Elddis as to when this would be. Over the next four months the caravan developed more and more faults every time it was used, Glossop was advised of every one all of them being added to the list for repair. During this time I was constantly pushing for a repair date. In August a fault developed with the water system it just keeps blowing the electrics making it impossible to get water into the caravan therefore the caravan is unusable. At this time I was also told to liaise directly with Elddis regarding the return to the factory.
I have an audit trail of calls, emails, photos showing the faults and the names of all the people I have dealt with at both companies. I also have proof that all three letters have been delivered to Glossop along with the names of the people who received them.
I have also posted this review on the Glossop Caravans page

When we were looking for a campervan we looked at many different manufactures to compare and look at and found that the Elddis versions were best for us. We ordered and took delivery - after the usual pandemic delays but nothing major. The quality of the van has been brilliant with only 2 screw and 2 screw covers missing. Overall very please and the staff at Elddis we have spoken to have been more than helpful.

We recently bought a new CV40 from Tyne Valley MH. The hand over was a positive experience.
We didn’t buy another Swift MH because their post sale support was terrible so thought we would try Elddis.
We already love our CV40- but they could easily improve market position by speaking and seeking reviews from current customers and friendly user forums. It’s an obvious source of loyal constructive feedback. There are some really simple cost neutral tweaks that would make massive user difference. But does that really matter?
Our aerial booster broke first touch so is on back order………… the proof of a good product is reasonable reliability a robust warranty and good customer support.
I’m hoping we don’t needlessly fall out of love with our Elddis like we did with our Swift.
…………. Nope it appears all the same, the broken stuff you always get is still broken, the warranty claims are still unresolved ☹️

I love my van (a CV20) but the quality control leaves a lot to be desired. Lots of things which drop off (cupboard latches, hinges, the shower bracket, etc etc). Over the last couple of years I've carried out many small repairs, rather than keep taking the van back to a dealer who just isn't bothered. The design also isn't the best - and would tend to suggest that the designers have never spent a night in a campervan. Pale gold upholstery? With a dog? In January? The salad bowl wash basin in the toilet which gets in the way of having a shower. Why not a tip up basin? The silly pop up work space at the side of the hob - gets in the way of your feet when using the bed as a single. (I've removed mine and put a bigger one by the sink - but i've put a glass splash back to stop splashes on the upholstery). Seriously, Elddis - why not ask the users what they'd like to see and whether your designs will work in practice? I'd be very willing to help.

Serious water ingress in a brand new Autoquest 115 motorhome bought in Dec 2023. First became apparent on 11/2/2024. We rejected the van and the dealer accepted our rejection. The dealer bought the van back from us for the original price on 29/2/2024. The van had only done 340 miles. We had 3 very stressful weeks until the buy back! I will never buy an Elddis product again.

This is a follow on from that previous review by my wife, Sharon. I too was disappointed to not be able to give '0' stars, but perhaps not as disappointed as I am with having had to deal with Elddis. I note their reply on how they value their customer service & how we should contact their customer care team. Well, in the almost two weeks they've taken to reply to my wife's comment, they should have checked with their staff because I already have been dealing with them - and we're still no further forward and without a promised follow up call either. We were initially advised, via the dealers, that ordered parts would be 8-10 weeks, but they didn't arrive for 15 weeks. I took my van in on 11th October for 10 hours of work over two days, but guess what? Yep, it's still at the dealers as one part, worth about £130, was incomplete when the dealers opened it. Elddis were informed without delay but even now, some 21 WEEKS after Elddis had their error pointed out to them, the part still hasn't been sent to my dealers. TWENTY ONE WEEKS & the cockwombles at Elddis still haven't sorted it. My van has been unusable for 14 months & I have no idea when I'll be getting it back as I won't sign the insurance certificate of satisfaction until all of the work is properly done to standard. Fourteen months where I've paid finance, insurance & storage totalling around £3600 for something I can't even access. Over THIRTY SIX WEEKS since the initial order was sent to Elddis by my dealers on 12th May 2023.
I'm already seeking private legal advice but in the meantime, I've approached the BBC & wider press as I'm sure we're not the only ones suffering the Elddis 'we've had your cash so we no longer give a toss about you' attitude.

Having had our caravan broken into last January and literally ransacked. Parts were ordered from Elddis by the dealer, at the end of May.
It is now February and has our order been finalised...has it hell.
Why? According to the dealers, Elddis send what they want, when they want. Elddis finish early on a Friday, Elddis don't answer the phone, Elddis are getting ready for the caravan show.
Can you contact them directly? No you can't.
Will we ever buy from Elddis again? NEVER.
Seriously guys, pray nothing ever happens to your caravan, because if it does...these cowboys will do nothing to help you resolve it.

The quality of Elddis caravans has gone down hill drastically.
Damp issues is a major problem.
Weak bed supports and window hinges - sacrificing strength and quality for light weight. Both had to be strengthened.
The inbuilt battery charger developed a fault and over the charged the battery, thankfully are alarms went off to warn us of gas in the caravan before the battery exploded.
Mastic seals look poor and need redoing.
The front gas locker hinge broke soon after purchase. It took months to resolve.
It's a shame because the xplore 304 is a great little caravan.

Writing a review about Elddis is easy they're a company full of false claims and promises, saying they make and produce the best caravans from earth to Mars, horse muck !!!!! Your warranty isn't worth jack!! ,as for getting a recommended dealer to help ,they're answer it takes ages getting g paid and as for asking Elddis for help regarding a leaking window wow !! they can't wait to dismiss you so rip your warranty up ,repair the van yourself and remember to remind yourself NEVER BUY OFF ELDDIS !!
4 March 24 I've since repaired it myself with all the help I didn't get off ELDDIS!!!!

Shocking low quality caravan. 2 years old caravan needed: front window to be resealed, toilet sink leaking, drain pipe came of in the kitchen sink cause the top drawer was hitting against it. Called elddis they didn't do anything as many other customers said. Sold the caravan after 2 years. They won't see my money again

I have been caravanning for 44 years we have recently taken delivery of an Elddis Chatsworth 840 from Glossop Caravans. My advice to any potential buyers is simple, “do not buy Elddis”. This is our third new caravan and by far the worst. The standard of workmanship is appalling. We are now at the stage where we are considering taking a financial hit just to get rid of the van. Every time we use it another fault occurs, and because of the warranty clause every time I have to return the van to Glossop it costs me £44.34 in fuel costs. No one cares, I repeat do not buy Elddis

Warning Elddis do not deliver vans as on advert “pick a van from March 2023 & get Autumn 2023 we have been waiting since 2021 two years still no sign of our new van. Yet they are managing to put new vans in show rooms but still do not deliver ones on order. Yet again we have had six delivery dates given for our cv80 van and are about to miss another festival. A May delivery tuned into July now changed to October this has been ongoing for two years it’s disgraceful and we are not the only ones… don’t wast your time buy from a different company we pursers ours through Brownhills near Newark

Antwort von Elddis
Elddis used to make great caravans until they started using ABS plastic front and back end panels with their 'solid' construction technique. The ABS plastic is not fit for purpose for the caravan to have longevity and 'merchantible' quality. You expect a caravan to last for many years and the ABS plastic starts cracking and the vans get damp. Simply search for Elddis ABS plastic cracks and you will see many related posts on caravan forums.
