Forced payment fees for not using their system, unacceptable!
I’ve recently been informed that my business will be charged an additional £89 plus Vat per month purely for NOT signing up to their payment platform.
Let’s be clear , I never agreed to their payment services. My agreement was strictly for the EPOS solution. What’s happening now is effectively a penalty for choosing an independent payment provider.
Even more concerning, based on widely available customer feedback online, their payment platform itself appears to have a track record of issues. Yet customers are now being pushed towards it through additional charges if they choose not to opt in.
In my view, this is a complete shakedown. With this kind of setup, you won’t be able to negotiate a better card processing deal elsewhere. It effectively removes your ability to access fair competition and limits your options once you’re locked in.
For a company like Epos Now, this is completely unacceptable. It raises serious concerns around fair competition and customer choice.
This is something I will be raising with the Competition and Markets Authority, Trading Standards, and I am also looking to report this to the Financial Ombudsman Service.
I am now actively looking for alternative solutions and will be taking my business elsewhere. I do not want to continue working with this company.
If you’re considering signing up, DO NOT Based on my experience, this company cannot be trusted and these practices are unacceptable. I strongly advise potential customers to read existing reviews carefully and be aware of these practices. This is also a warning to integrated partners (third party apps), EPOS NOW is moving towards an all-in solution, which means you are next.
EPOS NOW STILL ATTEMPTING THEFT 15 MONTHS STRAIGHT
15 months after an unformed contract was canceled, goods rejected unused unopened and Epos Now is still attempting to STEAL MONEY FROM MY ACCOUNT using card details they illegally retained when I stupidly purchased their system.
I canceled because they required me to contract out of New Zealand consumer laws and fair trading act.
I will continue to post 1 star reviews until you thieves stop attempting to STEAL MONEY and supply an address to return your rejected hardware and refund my money.
You are disgusting, immoral thieving scammers.

This Company not only tries to illegally charge customers for services which they don't provide or have any contract or consent of customers to charge their card. This Fraud company also removes your BAD 1 star reviews from Trust Pilot and other Social Media platform. THEY REPLY to your review that someone will be in touch with you but nobody call you and phone calls to their office are not answered and emails not replied.
Everyone please stay away from this FRAUD THIEVES others like 100s of their customers like us you will also be Robbed by these THIEVES.

EPOS is a Disgraceful Company
Wallingford Arcade. EPOS have billed us £80+ pounds per month plus VAT and took the payment directly from our bank account without our agreement or permission which is a total disgrace and possibly illegal. This is a penalty for not using their PDQ machine that would be integrated with our till which we bought outright without a contract. I told them we do not want an integrated system as we have a stand-alone PDQ and we are very happy with it.
To stop this charge, they suggested that I go for the integrated system so we do not get this monthly charge.
BEWARE because they told me that we didn't have to use it. Upon checking, I discovered that if you do not use this integrated system within 2 months, you will get hefty charges. Also, when you sign up for this, be careful because once they have got you hooked, they will put up the card machine charges to whatever they like.
What they are doing must be illegal and we have no intention of signing up to this or anything else to do with EPOS. If I could, I would certainly give them less than one star. Disgraceful company!!! We have now purchased a new system where we will not be blackmailed by a rogue organisation. Rita Kibble

After being a customer for 3 years, they are penalising customers for not using their integrated card machine for so call premium charge not just annually but monthly. You would think they want to keep their current customer but this really put me off. Off I go for another Epos system.

Daniel helped me with an ongoing issue. He was willing to listen to my entire issue and explain what would and would not work. After a 10-20 min phone conversation with him I was able to fix my issues with 17,000+ products in a matter of two days. I started this entire process 6 months ago, so for two days to resolve the issue, myself, the owner and our employees are all extremely grateful! Often times hearing someone out completely is the best way to find a solution, unfortunately listening is not always the norm. I will say EPOS does have several that have listened and taught me and I use the system now will confidence and ease. If you find yourself speaking to someone who is cutting you off and over talking you, politely end the call and call back. Eventually you will get one of the many who do a fantastic job!!!

Questionable sales tactics
Epos now operate very sneaky and unfair sales tactics. I received an email from Epos Now claiming that my card provider will no longer be integrated into their POS and that my card processing will not be supported - with a deadline of 5 days from the email. In the same email Epos Now were offering me a solution to use their card processing services instead. Thankfully I smelled a rat.
I called my card payments provider who informed me that it was infact Epos Now who were intenting on cutting off the integration, in order to force customers of other payment processors to use their card payments instead. My current card processor said as far as they knew, their integration app should still be working - but who's to say Epos Now won't pull that support to force customers to switch.
Really untrustworthy behaviour from Epos now. I am looking for an alternative provider.

I’m genuinely shocked by what I’ve been told by EPOS Now.
They are now attempting to increase the monthly subscription by EXTRA fee of £89 + VAT to what you already pay, if you don’t use their in-house payment platform. Let’s be clear, this feels less like a pricing structure and more like a penalty for choosing your own payment provider.
It’s either our paying platform or you pay a fine!!!
You’re essentially being pushed into their payment system, and once you’re in, you lose flexibility. There’s no real ability to shop around, negotiate better rates, or use alternative providers without being financially penalised. That raises serious concerns about fair competition and customer choice.
Even more concerning, this change appears to apply regardless of whether you’re already in contract. And if you want to leave because of these changes? You’re told there may still be a cancellation fee. So you’re stuck between accepting new terms you never agreed to—or paying to get out. That doesn’t sit right.
If terms are being changed this significantly, customers should at least have the option to walk away without being charged. Being locked in while the rules change feels completely out of order.
Overall, this approach comes across as heavy-handed and not in the best interest of customers. I’m now seriously considering moving to a different provider.
I still do not believe this actually happened. If they this imagine what else you can expect from them. Unacceptable and unforgivable business practice!

Awful, ending card payments integration with only 5 days notice. Not willing to refund subscription.
Have only been given 5 days notice to change my card payments provider as Eposnow will stop integrations with dojo. At first Eposnow claimed that this decision was made by dojo but after speaking to dojo and also other customers who use dojo and digging a bit deeper into this, I found that this decision was actually made by Epsonow as I also received a call from the Eposnow card payments provider, pushing me into taking out one of their card Payment plans which I have no interest in doing as I am happy with dojo. This has been a real inconvenience for our Business however there are many other epos till providers out there so I’ll be shopping around and changing my till provider with immediate effect. I was also told by one of the Customer Service representative of Eposnow that they are refusing to refund the remaining of the upfront payment I made for a 12 months period. I will be challenging this further as this is unacceptable, consumer rights will have something to say about this. Very disappointed with Eposnow but I’m glad I saw the true colours and it’s time to move on.

There are service is really bad. I have spoken to Lilly and Jack from the payment department they they don't know how to talk to customers they try to make customers uncomfortable rather than listening to customers issue so far I'm not happy with Epos card Machine also that tells a little bit slow too so please be aware before signing on maybe find a better and professional company

Holding customers to ransom is not a good look.
Having just bought a new terminal from EPOSNOW and with a contract in place for support and software and having proactively asked and had DOJO integration confirmed at that stage I consider this a breach of contract.
He was very helpful.

Absolutely shocking way to treat loyal customers.
We have supported this company for a long time, and now we’re being told we must pay an extra £89 a month simply because we’re not using their preferred payment system. There has been no real consideration for existing customers, just a forced change dressed up as “support.”
To be honest, it feels like blackmail. Either switch to their system, pay the fee, or leave. That’s not a choice, that’s pressure.
The whole message is full of sales tactics, but the reality is clear: they are trying to push customers into their own payment service by penalising anyone who doesn’t comply.
We will be cancelling after this. Extremely disappointing and unfair treatment of loyal customers. There loss, someone’s else gain, I actually hope this finishes them
