Whatever you do, do not buy from EQ3.

I ordered the Plank Media Console in mid April with an expected delivery window of mid to late May. It is now nearly August and the delivery company has lost my item in transit, I was given the option of a refund or wait another potentially 3 months for a replacement. Awful customer service. Save yourself the hassle and order from somewhere else. Extremely disappointed

What a very disappointing experience with a store that previously sold solid products with good customer service. Not so any more. I suspect the dire financial straits of their sister company, Palliser Furniture (bailed out by the Manitoba Government and then sold to a Chinese company) have infiltrated both product quality and the caliber of staffing at EQ3. We bought a Cello couch, as seen on the sales floor and as shown on their website, but the back cushions are so under-filled that they look like partially-deflated balloons. Many promised to help us by getting the cushions remade, or re-filled, but none actually did so, hiding behind the feeble claim “they are meant to look like that”. The picture on the website doesn’t “look like that” because it’s digitally generated, a fact that should be disclosed, but is not. We are getting the cushions remade by an upholsterer and will not shop at EQ3 again. Buyer beware - if you don’t like what they deliver, you will be stuck with it.

I have been a repeat EQ3 customer for years and have bought several pieces from them in the past. However, my most recent experience has been very frustrating due to a lack of ownership regarding a clear recommendation error made by their staff.

In January of 2026, I visited the Toronto King Street East showroom to replace my existing EQ3 sofas. I came prepared with photos of the room and precise measurements. After looking at the Madison model, two different staff members on two separate visits recommended the armless version. They assured me it was the correct, shorter solution for my floor plan. Based on their expert advice, I placed the order.

When the unit was delivered in May, I realized it was not a standalone sofa at all. It is a middle component for a sectional. The sides are not finished with matching upholstery, and there are metal hooks protruding from both ends that are meant to lock into other pieces. Instead of the finished look I was promised, I have exposed hardware and raw fabric facing into my living room.

When I contacted the store to resolve this, the manager informed me that because the piece was custom ordered, the sale was final. Most disappointing was the explanation regarding the sales advice: I was told that because the two employees I spoke with are no longer with the company, the store has no way to verify what I was told and therefore cannot honor their recommendation.

It is discouraging to feel that a company’s word and professional advice expire the moment a staff member leaves. I did my due diligence as a customer by providing measurements and seeking guidance. Now, I am left with an unfinished piece of furniture and a store that refuses to stand behind the advice of its own representatives.

I would suggest that future customers be very cautious about relying on in-store recommendations here. Ensure that what you are buying is a finished, standalone product, as you may find yourself with a modular piece that was never intended to sit on its own.

We had purchased a set of Oskar sofas last April/25 and visually they are lovely however the construction has turned out to be a disappointment.

The springs have shifted and now they both creak and to the point where it was so noticeable we had a technician out who indicated that the wood had shrunk (possibly due to harsh winter weather) and therefore the cause for the creaking noise.

Received an email from customer service indicating nothing they can do so live with it.

If you are looking for sofas that withstand the test of time and hold up well, these are NOT them!

Currently on the hunt now to replace them. Very disappointed to say the least 😞.

Why is zero stars not an option?
I am all for buying local or at least Canadian. I was excited to have found EQ3, stylish,fresh and Canadian. Until today. August 01 I ordered a sofa from their website. Taking a whooping 12-18 weeks to deliver. But worth the wait. Today. 6 weeks later. I receive an email telling me the fabric is discontinued. And canceling my order.
Informing me it will take another 5-10 business days to initiate refunding me. What company takes 6 weeks to discover they sold a product they don’t have?! And with all audacity and zero regrets, telling me they will take another up to 2 weeks to refund me.
They for didn’t struggle to take my payment immediately off my credit card.
All of this seems unacceptable.
I give you a week to discover you made a mistake. 6?!
How disappointing. Now I’m starting over. Adding another 6 weeks of wait time to whatever I pick now.
Most certainly don’t recommend buying from this company
