I dealt with endless postponements and vague reasons about my withdrawal, but cLotter Waves intervened and resolved everything without issues.

Equity Trustees is an appalling organisation who is preying on vulnerable people. They are managing my disabled son's estate. We are currently building a house that is designed for his needs. The trustees lost all important documents, including a building contract. They did not follow the progress payments schedule and have grossly overpaid for defective work for a half-built house.
They are now acting in concert with a builder that is being investigated for theft from the site and has been found to be in breach of the OHS laws.
They are making investment decision without evidence in funds with double the fees and almost no performance history, resulting in profit loss, totally ignoring their client's wishes and opinions.
Equity trustees are attempting to deflect all responsibility for every action by "outsourcing" everything,
They are not communicating with their disabled client's family, not answering phone calls, not replying to emails. They have lost the trust of the client and his family due to their total incompetence.
Avoid this trustee by all means possible.

This trustee is the definition of disorganised. On top of losing crucial documents in regards to their clients affairs, they have BLATANTLY LIED about their performance and their actions. I cannot go into specific details, but this trustee has been so pathetically incompetent that arrogant that I'm actually regretting giving them responsibility for my financial estate.

EQT are grossly failing to meet their fiduciary obligations to their vulnerable clients and fail to act in the best interest of their client despite being repeatedly asked to do so.

Lost contractual documents, bizarre decisions, overpayments and significant loss causing actions to their client and all done under the mantra of being in the "best interest of their client" ignoring obvious facts that clearly suggest otherwise.

Avoid as they will cost you dearly.

Have been trying since October 24 to change to a Self Managed Trustee with very little advancement..Documents "still to be signed by a trustee. Away until some time in January".

Constantly changing their name…odd. Had a Mark managing my grandfathers estate. To say he was rude would be the understatement of the year. No customer service at all. He ‘retired’ likely fired… now have another man managing the estate. Spoke to him the first time today (sent two emails prior - never replied to). Incredibly rude also! I asked how much due this month and when due. His reply - I don’t know. It’s $12000 total. Work it out yourself. PARDON? Then when I asked when it was due his reply - it’s paid quarterly so that date again. (Actually no it’s December and it gets paid earlier in December to allow beneficiaries to buy Christmas gifts - their words in a letter sent). Disgusting. Why are these ppl not trained in basic customer service? Further their industry is one that requires empathy! Your dealing with relatives of peoples passed. I want to give o.

Absolutely abhorrent organisation. They coherence vulnerable elderly people into making them administrators of their wills & then fleece the estate of 10's of thousands of dollars in exorbitant fees. They have no ability to administer an estate with any form of professionalism. They have no scruples & are morally corrupt. AVOID AT ALL COST!

Disgusted at the poor communication from this company. While they work within the rules, they have no conscience with regards to communicating with their customers who have a disability, and a low super amount, and only notify you after they've closed your account. What they did might be legal but it's definitely NOT customer friendly. Would NEVER, EVER deal with them again.

They do not action any requests on time or unless you do a follow up call, they withdraw money from your account and dont pay it to you claiming its with a 3rd party. Compliance team are incompetent as well as their customer service team. Own AMG Super which was rebranded to Acclaim Wealth because they failed APRA's performance test twice. After issues withdrawing my FHSS I chose to leave. When trying to rollover to new fund I experienced the same issues where they withdrew my money and held onto it for their own personal gain. Once again I had to involve AFCA and miraculously my money was transferred.
Their customer service is appalling and you basically have to continuously call for things to be actioned.

If you are looking for an ethical, efficient and professional Trustee to handle your estate - I strongly suggest you speak to your neighbour. They will be a far better choice than this unethical façade posing as a trustee. Equity Trustees are the equivalent of scammers but doing it under the banner of a trustee and preying on grieving, vulnerable families. What makes it even more gut wrenching is they use hard earned family money to destroy the family members left.
The blatant bias and favouritism shown towards some beneficiaries whilst others are unable to access what is listed to them in a Will. But they justify there abuse of power and inept ability to function professionally through having complete control as a trustee. The trauma they inflict in their cruel language, actions and communications with families is criminal. Where is the overarching body that monitors these gold digging grave robbers?
They continually flaunt their power and drain all funds. They refuse to process paperwork for basic things resulting in more financial hardship for those left without access to estate items needed to continue in life- even when these items and processes are straightforward and simple to do.
For my family they have lost assets, yes don’t know where or who has what now and allowed some beneficiaries to control and keep items left to other beneficiaries and refuse to be accountable for ‘looking the other way’ and letting it happen.
Even with legal help to address these things they still blatantly lie, manipulate and cannot achieve the most basic of tasks in executing the Will as it is written. These people have no training or skill and seem to do what they think via who they chat to regardless of legal documentation and as Executors they get away with destroying those left in the family. Shame on them and shame on the government to allow this company to continue operating. Just check reviews on the many sites and it is heart wrenching what they do.
I beg you to save your family from the trauma this company is inflicting on hundreds of families and run as far from them as you can.

PLEASE PREVENT THIS HAPPENING TO YOUR LOVE ONES.

With Metal Health such a high priority, how is it legal for ‘Equity Trustees’ to flaunt their corporate greed and blindly abuse funds of the deceased, the wellbeing of beneficiaries and neglect treasured livelihood possessions, while recklessly draining accounts at their discretion. ‘Equity Trustees’ at the same time demonstrate no acts of accountability or compassion. I find this insulting knowing that the previous chairman of ‘Equity Trustees’ ( 2008-2020 ) was also the founder of ‘Beyond Blue’ for Mental Health.

In conjunction with the continuous disgusting excuses, incompetence, client privacy breeches, over priced contractors and fees for every step of the sickening journey they take you on, while they attempt to break you down as you’re backed into a corner. My unfortunate dealings with ‘Equity Trustees’ hopefully has come to an end ( after an extremely exhausting and emotional 16months ), and with this review I hope to educate and assist other current/ future clients of this unethical company, to rethink and make an informed decision, which will protect their assets, livelihood and family from this modern day trap.

The shameful online promotional video ‘why it’s important to appoint the right Executor’, and the endless amount of contradictive glossy brochures makes me physically feel ill. I wonder how many employees of ‘Equity Trustees’ appoint their company to be their executor???

If there is a higher body out there, I beg you to please investigate into this disrespectful practice on behalf of all the mistreated individuals of this company, as I’m very aware that I’m not the only victim of ‘Equity Trustees’.

I will continue to voice this message, so no other individual has to experience the sufferance and loss of income this company personally inflicted on myself, all while grieving the death of two parents within three months of each other.

In closing, if you still believe in ‘Equity Trustees’, out of respect to your love ones consider leaving money for an external lawyer in your Will, as this will be a great benefit in assisting with their everyday struggles protecting your livelihood, which remember now will be in the hands of total strangers ( Equity Trustees ).

As for the employees of this company, ask yourself where your weekly income is really coming from, and do you really believe this is ethical.
