Contacted this company re an issue with a Ford KA Bluetooth module fault.
Sensible telephone conversation.
Item sent late Friday. They received it Monday & by end of day confirmed repair done.
Posted Tues, received next day. Fitted. ALL GOOD.
Cannot be better & reasonably priced

Sent an Electric Power Steering (EPS) motor for repair based on the advertised 2-3 day turnaround time. Received by them on Monday but no contact from ER. Called Thursday to be told they had people off sick and they would look at it asap. Called again following Monday to be told it would be posted that day - nothing received. Called again - apparently failed on test and waiting for uncommon part which should arrive next day to then be posted same day. Guess what! Didn't arrive. Called again to be told it had now passed test and was being posted that day. Finally received it on The Saturday - 12 days to turn round. Dropped it to garage and they squeezed in an hour mid week to fit it. NO NOT FIXED! Now even worse than previous intermittent fault as it now failed immediately on starting the engine. Contacted ER and they asked me to return it for quick turnaround. They received it Friday. When I called to find out what was going on ER admitted the fault was exactly the same as before. I finally received it the following Saturday - 6 days! Back to garage who fitted it on the Monday - STILL NOT FIXED! exactly the same fault as first time it was "fixed".
That was the end. ER conceded they could not fix it and refunded the fee. I now had to search for a replacement. That took time to find the right part - not cheap and not quick but finally received and fitted. Hurrah! Power steering now working.
The problem with ER is absolutely terrible communication with no feedback and customer having to repeatedly chase for updates. Sure it would be unreasonable to expect everything to be repairable but why advertise 2-3 turnaround when you can't achieve this. It is obvious that with this component off the car it cannot be used so updates and genuine forecasts are essential. The only reason I didn't give 1 star is because they are very pleasant to deal with and refunded the fees willingly. However that didn't cover the 3 removals and refits the garage had to be paid for.

Essex Recons the staff there are brilliant and very friendly and knowledgeable. I brought my Skoda Octavia cluster in to have the rev needle LED repaired as it no longer illuminated. I arrived just before 9 o’clock they booked me in, I then removed the cluster from my car and handed it to them so that they could repair it.
By 10.15am one of their skilful technician handed it back to me repaired. I did a quick test in my car and all the needles were illuminated and working perfectly.
Also, I have to add my cluster also comes with a two year warranty very pleased with the guys at Essex recons I would highly recommend.

We used Essex Recons to repair a 2020 BMW 1 Series digital speedo unit as the rev counter and speed needles were very dim, which is a common issue. Posted off and it was returned, repaired next day. Fantastic service and would highly recommend.

Absolutely excellent from start to finish. Sent my clutch actuator to ECU Testing first who couldn't repair it and didn't provide a reason why. Sent it to Essex Recons, excellent and friendly staff and repaired it within 2 days. Thank you guys! I would definitely use you again.

Disappointing service on this occasion. I have used Essex recons in the past and they have been very quick. I called before sending a unit away to them to check turn around time as customer was desperate. I was told 2-3 days. I rang 4 days later to check progress and was told the unit would be in the post that day. 2 days later I still hadn't received it, was told it was still in the workshop. Their communications were shockingly bad. Eventually almost 3 weeks later they did refund me and supplied me a used unit which was don't to me to code to the car but never did they call me to give me updates or make me feel like they had the situation under control. I've not given one star as they did the right thing and gave a full refund and supplied a working unit but time scale and communications were not acceptable and I truly hope they learn from this
