I urgently needed a new bike lock so I jumped online and after a lot of comparing I chose one of the Evo cycles options. I had a very low budget so I was skeptical about what quality my small amount of money was actually getting. It arrived quickly and I was pleasantly surprised. It was great quality with well thought out features. I have bragged about to family and friends
Knowledgeable Service
Before I had even committed to buying anything, I was given a full demonstration of the bike carrier by Christian (sorry if I got the name wrong) from Penrose. He demonstrated how to install it and avoid damage to my high brake light cover and even set the whole thing up for me before I left the store. Great service!!

First of all, worst employees and it takes either 1 week or 1 month to do a repair job, Asked for a new chain, charged me a service fee for installation and didnt even size the chain correctly, secondly ordered some parts thru them and it took 1 and a half month, and refused to tell me their supplier, i asked the supplier and they shipped it in 4 days

Helpful service, very grateful
We received excellent service from this bike shop. We were doing up a bike for a three year old. It had been her big sister's bike and was quite tatty. we went to three other bike shops trying to get a matching white tyre and pink handle grips. We could only get both the tyre and the handle grips in black. These people went out of their way to search out both a white tyre and the pink handle grips and they made one wee girl very, very happy. I sincerely thank these people and highly recommend them.

I had such a great experience with Eco Cycles when we bought our new e-bike, and especially Max! From the moment I walked in, Max made me feel welcome and took the time to really understand what I was looking for. He asked thoughtful questions about how and where I’d be riding, and helped me choose the perfect bike without any pressure — just genuine advice and great knowledge.
The service was above and beyond what you’d expect. Max clearly knows his stuff and genuinely cares about getting people on the right bike, not just making a sale. He explained everything clearly, from frame size to battery range and accessories, and even made sure the setup was perfect before I rode away.
It’s also great to see a business like Eco Cycles so committed to sustainability and quality. You can tell they take pride in what they do — the shop has a great energy and you leave feeling confident and looked after.
I absolutely love my new bike and have already recommended Max and the team to friends. If you’re thinking about getting an e-bike or upgrading your ride, go to Eco Cycles — you won’t be disappointed!
Terrable Service
Brought an expensive bike, got talked into a service plan, sales person never explained it would be as good as useless if not used within 3 years. Bring this bike plus another in for servicing. Get told sorry cant use the plan, nothing can be done, this is policy!
From a customer experience point of view I would say policy implemented like this is probably not great for reputation or business. I will certainly not be coming back, so don't bother servicing the bike there are plenty of shops that need the money!
Took bike for a gear tune up mechanic…
Took bike for a gear tune up mechanic suggested brakes service as well . Quote $350.00. Collected the paid $360.00 when we got it home it appeared that only the brakes had been serviced . Returned the bike and after four days was told the gears could not be improved. The money spent on the brakes has been wasted. I strongly recommend to keep away from this company.

I was at the tower junction store and Reuben was AWESOME with myself and my son. He reeeaally knew his stuff and didn’t make me feel silly for knowing nothing! He talked to my 10 year old kindly and we got what we both wanted. He was really busy too but never made us feel bad! Super grateful.

Great service at EVO St Lukes
We had our two e-bikes serviced at EVO St Lukes, Auckland, and the team there were fantastic. The booking system was good, and on arrival the team did a quick appraisal and advised of the state of our bikes and the need to replace brake pads. They pointed out that the chains and one of the gearsets were showing signs of wear, and would need replacement at the next service. The service was carried out in good time, and the communications were great.
Terrible service faulty goods
Terrible service - bought a lock that turned out to be faulty, Evo refused to replace despite their local manager acknowledging the fault. When I complained via their web chat, the person responding was rude and snarky and argumentative and when I emailed the support line I was ignored. This company does NOT stand by the products it sells - would never shop here again

Unlawful attempt to close off a CGA claim.
I took my light, which I purchased in November 2024, into the store to see if it could be fixed or a warranty claim could be made. I explained that the light stopped working/charging some time before the cover for the charging port fell off after repeated failed attempts to charge. The first server was polite and initially helpful.
Another person then came up and interrupted and said that the missing charging port would negate a warranty claim. I explained that something falling off after the defect could not negate the claim for the defect - under the Consumer Guarantees Act. the second person said that was not the case. I explained again that the order was important. He interrupted again and said that wasn't the case. I started to explain again and he interrupted yet again. I then asked him to stop being a d*ck about it. He then said he wouldn't accept being called a d*ck and used that as an excuse to close off the conversation - and said they would not process my warranty claim.
What began as an ok and helpful experience turned into a cynical attempt to stop providing a replacement light.
