It was great to have the consistency of the same people we were dealing with, having previously had a shocking experience with local CAMHS. Excellent professional people who really listened to both us as parents, and our teenage son. Easy to get to the Harrogate branch.
The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is that having started an autism process which then became a combined ADHD and autism assessment. The outcome was ADHD and evolve doesn’t do medication or recommend someone to contact to look at medication.
Thank you for your support and patience and producing a detailed report which showed our son’s strengths and areas of difficulty.

Evolve was great in supporting my daughter throughout her assessment. Given her age and being an adult. Assessment can be more difficult due to masking behaviours. This did result in assessing taking a bit longer than it would usually. However the team was thorough and did additional extensive assessments in order to ensure no stone was left un turned. I can highly recommend evolve it took over a year however in comparison to the 15 years of waiting for the referral via the usual cahms route and being fobbed of and refused an assessment for my daughter as they couldn't see past her masking when they did the initial appointment to determine if she met criteria for the assessment. Evolve went above and beyond they listened to me as her mother and fully understood about her masking behaviours. Their expertise and professionalism throughout her assessment and highly qualified professional was able to identify through the masking behaviours resulting in her being diagnosed with Autism. It takes extremely qualified experienced professionals to be able to recognise nurodivergent when high masking is present so this really highlights how gold standard evolve are. I can not thank evolve enough for everything they have done for us . My daughter has struggled her whole childhood life with zero support educationally, medically etc and given her struggles her adulthood and future looked restricted . Evolve has re written my daughter's future by ensuring that her autism is now going to be recognised and hopefully she will get the needed future professional support throughout her adulthood. Evolve have truly saved my daughter from an adulthood that would of been horrendous for my daughter without their dedicated team. Thankyou so much .

Definitely recommend this service. Going through right to choose we got seen in 24months. Very clear communication and very professional and friendly. Made my Son at ease with clear instructions and expectations from the start of the session.

My daughter was on the waiting list for two years to be accessed for autism and ADHD. All the staff were lovely. There was a mix up with the first zoom call as the information given didn’t specify that it was for myself and then the assessment for my daughter didn’t specify if it was a zoom call or face to face as no address or anything like that was sent with the relevant information. Both appointments had to be remade and the staff were very understanding as it had caused problems with other service users also. The next appointments were fully detailed with all information needed. She has just received her diagnosis. I can say the service that was provided and what we received was exceptional.

Great staff who listened and understood and were helpfull on what’s next to come, give me insight and also loads of information websites I can access to learn more, also kept in touch and replied fast when I had a questions

Physiology amazing but getting through and speaking to someone on the phone is a total nightmare you can't get through via email or phone no one answers been trying for 2 weeks via email and calling not one answer back

I have nothing but praise for the amazing team that have dealt with my son’s combined autism and ADHD assessment. The team that did the assessment were incredibly supporting and empathetic to our experience with some really useful help. My only criticism is that the communication could be a little better. My son completed the assessment process in January but did not receive his diagnosis until May. This was because his case needed to be put into a complex case MDT and then more information was required. However this information was only given to me when I chased what was happening. This lead to an awful lot of anxiety for myself and my son. If this had been communicated at the point of action it would have helped. From assessment to report issued took 5 months in total, which is a long time to wait when you are waiting for the report to access further support at school.

I’ve just received my diagnosis for ADHD today and I am extremely grateful for what Evolve has done for me. They have gone above and beyond to give me the best experience possible and all the staff are lovely. Other than the waiting list being relatively long I have had no issues. Thank you Evolve!

Appalling communication, IT problems with their portal, frequent miscommunication and many delays. We finally had notice that the report was on the portal ready to be downloaded (about 6 months after the assessment had taken place). We only had 7 days to download it, and no one replied to my emails reiterating that I can't get into the portal (some sort of IT issue no one seems to understand, or be able to do anything about). I'd made the clinician aware of the issue and she promised to email me the report, which she did, but it was encrypted and she didn't send the password. No reply to any further emails. It beggars belief that they're operating at all and I'm shocked the NHS is still referring people to them.

Shocking experience with evolve so far, our first assessment was cancelled on the day of the appointment finally had our initial assessment nearly 3 weeks ago now, clinician said if not heard anything a week after for the rest of the assessment ( childhood history etc ) that we was to chase it up. I have sent emails and tried chasing every day via phone call and leaving voicemails and no one has responded, also sent further information over from daughters new school as requested by the clinician and again no one has picked this email up!! Really bad start and doesn’t give our family much hope for the rest of the assessment after been on the waiting list since 2024.

Opted for Evolve Psychology on the Right to a Choose pathway for Autism assessment. My GP made the referral and following a week or so later, I made contact to ensure they had received it. Response from admin stating they had received it and once processed they would be in touch with registration paperwork. That was in November 2025 and now they are not replying to my emails or voicemails. Terrible service and very disappointing.

The process through right to choose was great. Our coordinator was helpful experienced and showed high level of understanding and support. The assessment was well organised. Feedback was clear and easy to understand. All staff we interacted with where helpful and kind

Unfortunately with Miss communication and not having clear instruction and directions we had a rough start but after over coming speed bumps we had an amazing experience. We were heard supported and treated with utter respect. We have had nothing but help and advise. We have choosen evolve pathway again for our other son and had other friends we have directed to evolve too. Wouldn't have any other choices. Thanks to all the teams involved.

I was really happy that our original appointment was after around 10 months of waiting so ahead of expected time, communication wasn't great prior to that, our forms from school were not picked up (posted) for some time and the email communications has been stilted, everything I've had has been me chasing.

The lady at our initial assessment was amazing, we were told 4-6 weeks for our history appointment, it's been almost 9 weeks and I've still had nothing which is absolutely appalling. We're already very stressed and have multiple applications (EHCP) that will need the report from Evolve, I'm not being given a clear reason why we're so delayed or when I can expect my next appointment and I've lost confidence in them totally.

Very disappointed my son went in for a adhd and autism assessment came back and speech delay. He got scared and masked not surprised a 6 year old shouldn’t be in a room on his own with strangers who has special needs! I appealed which then they took the speech and language delay off but still came back as no to autism and adhd
Yet everyone can see it including me because 2 of us in the house already have it. School saying Autism . Just very disappointed don’t care about the diagnoses it’s more so he can understand why he is the way he is. And as he grows get the support he needs.
I am going private and wish I had not picked evolve and gone with owls like my daughter .

We were first contacted by Evolve Psychology in April 2024 confirming receipt of our son’s NHS referral. We completed all requested paperwork promptly, but then had to chase them just to confirm that they had received it. That confirmation did not come until June 2024, when we were advised that the waiting list was 24 months.
An account was finally created in December 2025, and our son’s first assessment was in January 2026. Unfortunately, the appointments were then handled incorrectly, which meant we had to wait again for a further appointment in February 2026.
Since that point, we have chased several times for an outcome, only to be told that they needed more time. We are now 5 months on from the initial assessment and still have no clear outcome, no proper update, and no confidence that this is being handled appropriately.
Communication has been shockingly poor throughout and at times completely absent. For a service dealing with children and families who are already under pressure, this is simply not good enough. Based on our experience, I would not recommend Evolve Psychology to anyone seeking an assessment.

Evolve psychology services are absolutely brilliant! We used the rights to choose option to help our son with getting his autism diagnosis. The team where amazing and really understood our son and what he was going through. Sally Pitts and leese bourton thank you for all your help and support on our son's journey, he is now able to understand himself and who he is as an individual.
I will definitely recommend evolve psychology services to those who seek help and understanding.

I cannot recommend Evolve enough! From start to finish.  I was bracing myself for a long, drawn out ordeal, but they kept me updated.

​What really stood out to me, though, was the exceptional support. It’s so rare these days to interact with a team that genuinely cares. They didn't just pass me through a generic system they actually listened to everything we said  and For the first time in a long time, I felt completely heard and understood by a support team.

The staff are all lovely but the whole system needs a shake up
I first applied for an assessment in 2024. My child was assessed late 2025 and it’s now May 26 and I still don’t have a written report, it’s been 10 weeks now since we received the verbal diagnosis.
It’s not the kind of service I expected I’d receive unfortunately.
