Child’s bike was faulty, but replacement was good
We rented a child’s bike for 4 hours and paid €15 plus €3 for a helmet.
Unfortunately, the first bike we received was not in good condition. It was constantly squeaking, the tyres were worn, and the chain came off during the ride. My child normally cycles very well, but because of the bike he struggled to keep up, which made the first half of our family outing stressful and frustrating.
After about two hours we returned to the rental shop and asked for a replacement. The staff took a few minutes to find another bike, but the second bike was excellent. After the swap, my child was able to ride normally and enjoy the rest of the experience.
I appreciate that the issue was resolved, but a children’s bike should be checked carefully before being rented out. We lost a significant part of our paid rental time because of a problem that should have been identified beforehand.
For the price paid, I expected better maintenance checks, especially for children’s bikes.
