We recently sold our property with Fine & Country and genuinely couldn’t have asked for a better team to guide us through what turned out to be quite a rollercoaster. From the first viewing to securing a new buyer after our initial sale fell through, the entire team we dealt with - Dominique, Lara, Matthew and Mitchell - was incredible.

They handled a whirlwind of activity with calm, professionalism, and a genuinely supportive approach. We’d already taken the leap of buying before selling (never again!) and were under an extremely tight deadline, but their experience and reassurance made all the difference. They kept things moving, kept us sane, and somehow even made it enjoyable.

It might have been just another day at the office for them, but for us, it was a hugely emotional milestone, and we’re so grateful we had them in our corner.

Leaving our family home of nearly 30 years was always going to be very difficult. The team at Fine and Country in Diss were so helpful and supportive all the way through the negotiations and always remained positive in what seemed a never ending chain. We wished for a new family to make our home their forever home and it all happened. Thank you Chris, Sue, Tania, Tom and Julie in Norwich.

I made enquiries to view a property on Friday 14th March 2025, and we drove 1 1/2 hours to view the property on Monday 17th March 2025. I believe there had been a number of viewings that day, of which we were a part of.
From the moment we arrived at the address I could tell that the estate agent ( FROM NORTHERN LINCOLNSHIRE )had absolutely no interest in showing us around the house and made it very difficult for me to gain any information about the property. After our viewing, we were hardly spoken to, and it seemed like she was not interested in us being there.
I returned home and the following day I sent them an email with an offer to purchase the property and an explanation as to my reasons for the offer given.
I received no confirmation that they had received my email and offer, and as such I had to call on 19th March to ask whether my email had been received, and again I was pretty much fobbed off and told that someone else was dealing with the offers and that I would be contacted later that day.
Of course, I never heard back from anyone at Fine and Country ( I did have a missed call on my mobile that I did not recognise, however, no message was left) and when I went online that evening I was surprised to see that the house had been taken off the market and shown as SSTC, after only 5 days of being advertised on Right Move.
Now I have absolutely no problem with the vendor choosing to sell their property to whoever they choose and for whatever they agree as a final sale price. HOWEVER....
I do expect at least the courtesy of a phone call/email to explain that the vendors chose another party to sell to. It was never confirmed if my offer had even been passed onto the vendors as no one at Fine and Country had the decency to discuss our situation and whether we were willing to increase our offer.
I have lived in my current address for the past 28 years and have never wanted/needed to move, this is one of the first times that we have found a property that we would have liked to negotiate with the estate agents and vendors, and we were never given the chance.
There may have been a completely reasonable explanation as to why the house has been sold so quickly, however, if this is not communicated to other potential buyers, how are we to know?
This house was on the market for £575,000 and our house was valued last year before I replaced the roof and the windows, for £650,000 for a quick sale, and therefore, we had a LOT MORE money that we could have offered had we been given the chance.
To say that I am completely astonished by the way they treat potential buyers is an understatement, and in my mind something was going on behind the scenes with this sale, and I should have been told BEFORE I wasted my time driving 65 miles to view the property that I would not even be considered had I even offered well over the asking price.
Warning to anyone selling with Fine and Country be careful as you may be selling your house for a LOT LESS than you could get if not everyone interested in your house is given a chance to offer more than you were expecting. Mind you, a quick sale for the estate agents means commission payments are a lot quicker with less work to do.
And buyers I would also be careful as you may find that a sale is already agreed upon and you may be wasting your time viewing, although more views do look good for the estate agent I suppose.
And to date I still have never heard from anyone about this house.
Will I be viewing any more houses being sold byt Fine and Country.............absolutely not
Would I recommend them to other........absolutely not.

Update 31/03/2025 - Even though I asked for no reply from you, you still replied!!!!!
As stated above, I have already sent my formal complaint email to your complaints email address ( which Trustpilot will not allow me to post ) and the office email, so you already have the name of the office and the agents, as I put them in my complaint email. I did not mention any names in this Trustpilot review for obvious reasons. If you REALLY want to follow this up, then you can always speak with the department I sent my original complaint to 10 DAYS AGO, although I do doubt very much whether that will be done.

We were fortunate to both sell our current home and buy our dream forever home with the Fine and Country team at Diss. The whole process from house valuation, brochure preparation, house viewings, and post sale communication was excellent. The team knew what we wanted and helped us achieve it. Special thanks to Sue for finding our forever home on the very the first day I popped in to register interest and to Tom for ensuring we got over the finish line and keeping my nerves at bay!

Fine & Country lived up to their reputation as being the market leader and go to agent for property sales in our area. The personnel in the Diss Office are seasoned professionals who know their business and were unfailingly helpful and supportive. Sue, Tania and Chris all deserve a particular mention for the roles they played in securing our sale and once it had been agreed, Julie was tireless in progressing the sale to completion. Well done all!

F&C are professional in every aspect is selling your property from the carefully crafted brochure to the insightful accompanied viewings. Everyone involved was prepared to go above and beyond. I highly recommend them.

Amazing service. Really felt we were looked after by Fine and Country, great personal service and our best interests were always at the forefront of their approach. Jan their representative helped us through every step of the way.

Also prepared an Amazing brochure, and took time with us to get it right. Extremely considerate and helpful staff at every step of the process. Would recommend them to anyone looking to move.

Fine & Country have a bizarre selling strategy, at least in London (Tufnell park). I imagine I'm a fairly typical buyer; a very busy London professional. When enquiring about a property, what I want is to be efficiently and quickly booked in for a viewing. If the agent also wants to do a quick LinkedIn search to check I'm likely able to afford the property, that's all fine. But the actual experience on the phone is more like:

1. Listen to the agent's (literally) 10 minute uninterruptible spiel about how amazing the property is and how it's guaranteed that I'll be putting an offer in once I see it.

2. Get told there is a 20 page "application form" to be able to view this exclusive property, only to be told at the end of the phone call that I'm speaking to a "director" who can bypass this with a quick LinkedIn search. This is complete nonsense; I highly doubt such a form exists, and if it does it's completely unreasonable.

3. Listen to the agent continue his spiel about how he has clients flying back from LA and Paris to view this property. Even if this is true, it's completely irrelevant to me as someone who just wants to view the property, and felt borderline unprofessional.

4. Finally, after having about 20 minutes of my time wasted, getting booked in for a viewing.

I suggest that you align your selling strategy more with typical buyers in the area. They likely consider their time as valuable, so don't waste it. Do a quick LinkedIn check, or whatever you need to do, and then get them booked in quickly and efficiently. Drop all the nonsense about exclusive application forms and clients flying back from LA. Your typical buyer is smart enough to see through it, and it's not going to influence the offer that they end up making.

As a final point, you should update your "discrete" listings on RightMove to at least contain enough minimal information to let a potential buyer work out whether it roughly matches their criteria, such as square footage and cluster-of-streets (rather than an entire vague area, which is not nearly specific enough when considering things such as proximity to nearby tube stations). You could easily do this without losing the "discrete" aspect of the listing.
